Why I'm Yours

Rate this book
A point in time, an unexpected event, changes everything.

Reagan’s life was about to begin. A recent college graduate with her career about to launch, she was living in Boston with her best friends. She had everything she worked hard for until one man took it all away, leaving her feeling empty and desolate.

After spending a few years alone, Reagan finally moves to Chicago with her best friend, Aimee, and vows to put her past behind her. When Reagan lands a job at Powers Financial, she never expects to find the one person that would give her back the girl she left behind years ago.

Drew Powers loves being the powerful CFO of a successful corporation and raising his son, Dawson. He's known as "asshat" at the company and it doesn't help calm his temper or patience. Drew's main focus doesn't include love or commitment. Those are the last things on his mind.

When the reserved and beautiful Reagan Halloway bumps into him and tests his patience, he ignores the lust he feels for her until she becomes all he can think about.

Fate is a powerful thing. A force that leads two people to one another and gives them both the one thing they didn’t know they were missing.

Warning: This novel deals with a sensitive subject and may contain triggers for some.

Well I guess it was ok? And I liked how the heroine didn't fall at his feet when she met him.

"No. No, thank you. You men are the same. Thinking you can come on to a woman and throw some cheesy lines and suggestions. Then, boom, they immediately drop their panties at you".

Yes, she did not throw her panties at him, he had to chased her.

I could have done without the OWs drama. What's the point of

Will I read Remy and Aemee's book? Probably, because I'm intrigued as long he doesn't sleep with Zoey it sounds like it would be a love triangle?

Anyway loved the little kid and I appreciate the hero being an amazing father.

Overall it was ok.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.
===========================

Zane’s always been one of my favorite customers.

Since that night with Zane, I’ve taken steps to ensure that no one will ever hurt me again. My body is mine and mine alone.

He sighs. “I heard Mom on the phone. She called Reagan a gold-digging whore. What does that mean?”

“What about you? Care to fill me in on the situation with Aimee and Zoey?” Remy pauses before answering, “You know, huh?” “Yes.”

“Ah, I don’t know, man. Zoey’s comfortable and doesn’t expect anything from me. We fuck, and she leaves. I know she’s using me to get back at Lawrence. We keep fighting because she wants Lawrence to see her and I together. I told her I’m not playing any games and I’m too old for that shit. Then, there’s Aimee. She says it’s fine that we keep it a beneficial thing. She knows I’m not ready for a relationship, and I don’t see myself in one. I’m not blind though. She’s falling for me.”

“Zoey’s pissed we didn’t invite her. And now I’m not sure how she feels.” “Fuck,” I mutter. “You think she’s falling for you too?” “I’m almost positive. She came over last night and asked where I was going. When I didn’t answer she begged me to stay with her so we could talk. Then she said she’s not sure how she’s feeling for me.”

“I slept over at Aimee’s apartment last night. Zoey blew up my phone, telling me to come over. She sent some pictures and I think Aimee saw. She didn’t say anything though.”

“Zoey’s with Remy,” she sadly says. “He asked me to check on you guys. I stood outside the door and heard him tell her I meant nothing to him.”

She nods. “Remy’s the father.” “Are you going to tell him?” “I was.” She pauses. “Then, Zoey showed up, so I didn’t. Please don’t tell him.” “I won’t,” I honestly tell her. “Thanks, Drew.”

This was a little traumatizing in the beginning, and I did shed some tears. Reagan is beyond affected to the point that she moves away from her hometown of Boston finally settling in Chicago. My heart really went out to her, and when she gets a new job that is at a prestigious business empire, she's over the top. Her first day, though, has her encountering CEO Andrew Powers. Let's just say that their encounters are pretty much horrible. She bumps into him not once but twice and spills coffee on him the second time. And, Drew is not happy about it. You see he's a grumpy divorced dad that has not had much of a fulfilling life since him and his ex-wife split. Sooner or later, however, the pair get together even though Reagan is scared, and when Drew learns why, he couldn't have been more supportive.

I loved this couple. Both strong and loyal individuals who finally figure out that they were destined to be together. With a cast of supporting family members and great friends, they couldn't have a more perfect life. And, little Dawson, who is just cute as a button, steals the show with his more than honest personality. You couldn't find a more beautiful romance that rocks after all the despicable and horrifying acts that others commit. Why only 4 stars instead of 5? There just seemed to be something that I didn't like when the villain was actually exposed. It just was over and done with way too fast, which didn't really set well with me. Other than that, I totally enjoyed this book! And, of course, there were some hot and steamy times which were off-the-charts Amazing!!

Can't wait to read Remy and Aimee's story when it's released! Should be something entertaining and awesome...

Hm. This just didn't flow. The opening graphic tone followed by a sugary sweet love story left me adrift.

This opens with an on-page r*pe scene. Then you fast forward three years later. Reagan left everything abruptly and finally made her way to Chicago. Now she just landed a job at a massive company as assistant to the CEO. There she meets Drew, the CFO and son of the CEO. And now you've got yourself a sugar and spice and everything nice type of millionaire love story.

I didn't buy into the chemistry or the falling in love bit. I also don't think Reagan ever really dealt with her trauma. Sure the villain gets caught. But I think she just suddenly becomes well-adjusted and all her family problems are solved seemingly overnight. Overall, it just felt a little amateur.

I've never read anything by S. Moose before but have read quite a few by C.A. Harms and I was a little surprised. This just felt lacking all around. Especially if a book is going to start off so serious, there just needs to be more.

This is just a side-note and doesn't necessarily bring it down in ratings; BUT, this takes place in Chicago. I live in Chicago proper. I know this happens all the time, but sometimes when authors pick a setting, I wish they'd just make it a touch more realistic. Reading this, it was obvious that top sites, restaurants, etc were Googled then inserted into the story and had nothing to do with that purpose that place actually serves.

I liked this book. Liked Reagan and Drew - they were cute. Loved Dawson and how the three of them all interacted. Reagan did annoy me in the beginning but it all turned out good :) But there were a few things that didn't sit well with me.

Where the hell is Jennifer now? And I loved Remy...right up until around the 85-90% mark
Anyway, it was a decent story and I enjoyed it.

FANTASTIC!

I love this story so much. Every single character, especially Brett (which was just here and gone... just a sliver of him was delightful had me laughing so hard). Drew and Reagan had a connection that hardly exists outside of book world. Let's not forget Dawson... adorable. Simply wonderful read!

I received a complimentary copy of this book through Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.

Wow what a rollercoaster of emotions this book will take you on. I hated having to put the book down to work and sleep. It was one of those where you couldn't wait to turn the page to see what was going to happen but on the other hand you don't want it to end.
I was only a few pages in and I had tears in my eyes but they were definitely worth it.

Reagan was all ready to graduate from college and start the next chapter of her life when one evening it was all taken away from her. Now a few years later she's ready to move on starting with a new job. What she doesn't expect is the instant attraction he has to her new bosses son Drew.

Drew works hard as the CFO of his families company as well as bringing up his adorable little boy Dawson. Drew has a bit of a chip on his shoulder to start with but has he gets to know Reagan and she begins to realise she can trust him not to hurt her their walls start to crumble.
Is true love finally on the cards for both of them?

A fabulous book and it's one I would highly recommend everyone reads!!

Break out the tissues and make sure you've got hours of free time because once you start reading this you won't be able to put it down even when you're ugly crying! Emotional, romantic, steamy, and so sweet Why I'm yours is yet another amazing book by one of my favorites C.A. Harms and a new favorite S. Moose. These ladies delivered the ULTIMATE romance with this book and I loved it!

One horrific night changed Reagan from the innocent, happy, and sweet girl she was, into an angry closed off woman with a wall around her heart. Scared and feeling alone she closed herself off from everyone after that night. After years of hard work and healing herself she comes back to her best friend to start over. Drew is a single father and busy CFO for his family's company. After a bitter divorce his only priorities are his son and work. When drew's mother hires Reagan as her assistant these two are instantly attracted to each other and with her past and his bitterness sparks are flying like crazy!

Drew was so freaking perfect. Starting out as the typical arrogant and rude businessman, we quickly see the real drew. As his own walls start to come down we see the dedicated father and warm hearted gentle man he truly is. Reagan had so much to overcome to even consider giving him a chance he had no choice but to be slow and gentle. Not even knowing what happened to her he can tell she needs slow and that's exactly what he gives her. His gentle and slow ways, along with the help of his adorable son quickly had Reagan coming out of her shell and healing her scars.

I loved Why I’m Yours by S. Moose and C.A. Harms. This was such an emotional, sweet and sexy story. It will captivate you from the start.

Reagan was excited to begin her new life after graduating from college. She was on the verge of having everything she wanted, until one man took it all away. Devastated, she all but shuts downs for years. Years later, ready to finally move forward, she moves to Chicago to be with her best friend and a new opportunity at Powers Financial. Though Reagan was at times scared and distant, she worked hard to be the woman she once was.

Drew Powers is a very successful CFO who is focused on his business and son. A relationship is the last thing he wants after his nasty divorce. He is not a nice man. He can be rude and standoffish, but he does not care how other see him. He wants only to prove to his family he can be what they need and a good father to his son.

When Regan bumps into Drew on her first day, their connection is instant, but Drew is rude and condescending to her. He is determined to ignore her. But as they begin to spend time together and she gets to know Drew the father, she begins to see a different side of him. And Drew, though he was such a jerk at the start, once he begins to open up to Reagan, we begin to see a patient and caring man. Can they find a way to overcome their past and find a way to each other?

I truly enjoyed reading Why I’m Yours by S. Moose and C.A. Harms. The characters and story will captivate you and Dawson will steal your heart. This was an emotional roller coaster of emotions, but overall, this was a romantic story about two people who help heal each other.

Emotionally charged, action packed, sweetly sexy, slightly dark and very real second chance at life romantic journey that captures your attention and hangs on. Highly engaging and realistic charters you want to get to know more about.

Drew and Reagan are so perfectly flawed (each in their own way) yet charmingly matched. Dawson just makes you want to cuddle and protect him through it all. (so adorable) Remy, Aimee and Zoey are all so fun and interesting you can't help but want more. Completely fantastic roller-coaster of emotions that begins one horrific night and concludes in the sweetest new beginning.

i loved this book because of the sore subject it contained and the journey the h had to take in order to heal.
We have Reagan who's a really strong heroine who built walls around her heart after the horrible thing that happened to her, in her new job she meets Drew who's an asshole to her from the start but she didn't cower away and stood up for herself which i really loved about the h and which interested Drew into pursuing her. I liked the romance between these two even though at times it was a little bit too cheesy for my taste, other than that i really loved the book and how it managed to make me emotional and played with my feelings.
I will admit that i'm excited to read about the other two characters in this book because their story looks promising and more interesting.

3.5 - 4 Stars!

I’m so torn about this book. First, let me start off by say that I genuinely liked this story. There were many aspects to the story that I really enjoyed and loved about it. Reagan and Drew had me smiling with their initial reactions and the banter between each other. Once things started to heat up these two were nothing but explosive chemistry, passion and hot sex. And yes, the fact that Drew is an amazing, exceptional and devoted father earns him major brownie points and makes him that much more sexy AF! And his kid, Dawson, will definitely steal your heart because he is just the most adorable thing ever.

This has a great storyline with great characters. And here is where the but comes into play…….BUT……I’ve read C.A. Harms books before so I know she is exceptionally talented at delivering emotional charged books because she’s had me a blubbering mess before. I’ve only read one other book individually of S. Moose so I don’t have much experience with her writing. So, this is where I’m torn because this book has situations where I should’ve been a blubbering mess but I wasn’t and I was a little disappointed in that. I felt that it lacked that UMPH in emotion. I wanted to feel the pain and sorrow. I wanted to feel the darkness and loneliness. I wanted to breakdown and cry along with Reagan when she finally let down her walls. But I didn’t get there. I didn’t connect with that. I felt that it lacked that delivery of emotion it should’ve considering the traumatic ordeal.

Other than that it really was an enjoyable read. I loved reading Reagan and Drew’s journey. Their attraction to each other was palpable and I loved the strong family dynamic. Overall, this was a good read of finding second chances and opening your heart to trust and love again.

What more could I ask for then two of my favourite authors collaborating on a book! This is a fantastic receipe for a great read! I love CA Harms and I adore S Moose and together they delivered the outstanding romance that will have you captivated from start to finish.

The beginning of this book ripped my heart out but the rest of the book healed it and made me swoon. This is quite the emotional ride, from ugly crying to some hot steamy and beautifully romantic.

Reagan's life was changed after one horrific night and the innocent, happy, trusting girl disappeared leaving behind a closed off, angry woman with huge walls up around her. After years of isolation she reconnects with her best friend and starts a new job, never believing she would meet the man that would bring her back to life.

Drew is totally swoon-worthy, even when he's being a rude, arrogant, arsehole. He's a single dad who devotes his life to his son and his job and he too has walls around him. One look at Reagan and his walls are disintegrated and he knows that she is the one for him. He will do whatever it takes or be whatever she needs him to be.

I would love for these two amazing authors to write more together as this was pure gold

CA Harms is one of my all time favorite Authors, and her teaming up with new to me Author S. Moose was a FANTASTIC IDEA!!!!
This book was just amazing. It shows that not matter how far down you get knocked, there is always a way to find your way back up. This is how I see Regan Holloway. She maybe small but she be mighty. The poor woman has been through hell. She goes to a party with her best friend Aimee and that night her entire life changes. Regan slowly hides within herself.
Drew Powers is a bit of an asshat. He helps his parents tum their multi billion dollar corporation. But this doesn't make him a nice person. In fact no one wants to work with or for him. Then thankfully fate steps in.
Regan has these really high walls built around her so high that it's impossible for anyone to break down. BUT someone does and the change is beautiful. In my opinion Regan is a Caterpillar goes into a cocoon and emerges as a beautiful butterfly.
I'm not going lie, there are some scenes that are a bit rough to read. But the over all story made those rough spots worth it...Both Authors get 5 stars

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak.

This is Reagan and Drew’s story. Reagan thought she has it all until one man took all of it away from her. Now she is a little broken. When she finally moves to Chicago with her best friend she knows that changes are coming. She is drawn to a Drew but he is not a nice person. She knows that he feels she is a pain. Drew is raising his son and working. Not into love or commitment but Regan in her reserved way somehow pulls him in. With Reagan he craves something he never thought he would a forever. But can he heal the broken parts of her and get her to trust him enough to fall for him?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Mal schauen was das zweite Buch bringt.

Why I´m Yours by S. Moose and C.A. Harms is a standalone, full-length romance novel.
Drew Powers is a rich, successful CFO of a fortune 500 company. He has a temper and loves only his son Dawson. Dawson is beyond adorable.
Reagan Halloway had a hard past. After a horrible event at college, she runs and left everything behind. Now, years later she´s back. A new job, rooms with her best friend and has her life put back together.
O n her first day at the new job she crashes into Drew. They´re like cat and dog. They bicker and fight like children. But they have a crazy chemistry too.
They start to date and everything could be peachy, but then the other shoe drops.

I really liked the story, the characters and the writing. The characters are great, you can feel their emotions in the words. And Dawson will leave you as puddle on the floor.
Why I´m Yours is a sweet love story. And I can´t wait to read Remy and Aimee´s story.
I give 5 stars. Thank you S. Moose and C.A. Harms !

When we first meet Reagan she’s a slightly naive young woman ready to leave college and experience life when one bad decision changes her life in ways she never could have foreseen.

Years late Reagan is now living in Chicago with her friend about to start her new job with a totally different perspective on life love and relationships. Her new job brings Drew the CEO of the company into her life and sparks fly between them from their first meeting.

It took me awhile to like Drew, apart from his son he’s a moody antisocial broody man. With his son we see flashes of the man he used to be, their relationship is truly beautiful.

If I can take anything from this book it’s that you can overcome pain and betrayal with the love from those around you.

I love the way these two authors combine their writing to give us this incredible story of Reagan and Drew. Reagan has been running from what happen to her many years ago. A New state with her best friend Aimee is what she needs and when she lands her dream.job she is ready to find.her grove but her boss's son and her don't make a good first impression. Drew has been on edge for a while and it doesn't help when the new employee dumps coffee on him. Well this starts a love hate relationship untill.his Mother arranges a dinner then they start seeing each other differently but when Reagan meets Dawson, Drew little boy he steals everyone's heart. Get ready to ride this rollercoaster of a story but it's all worth it in the end.

Why I'm Yours is an exercise in trust. A sweet story that doesn't exactly start that way. But with a feisty heroine and a rude dude boss, it's hard not to smirk, and smirk often.

As an unofficial stalker of both authors books, I was pleasantly surprised that they got together. Why I'm Yours doesn't disappoint either. It has the same sweet, sexy feel that both authors bring to the table.

Filled with fun characters, a quirky grandma, and friends I need to know more about this is the beginning of what I hope to be many in a series!

this is a first read for me by CA Harms, she and S Moose really knocked it out of the park with this steamy, angsty read.

For me, this was a good read, but really struck me as way too long.
Reagan is a young woman who suffered a tragedy and has pulled herself up to start again. Drew is a successful business executive whose personal life fell apart. Fate brings these two together for a second chance at love and Life.
I liked the premise of the story, but found Reagan and Drew to both be slightly stiff characters and some of the situations they found themselves in were unrealistic.
My biggest issue with the book was the fact that we had chapters were almost nothing happened. There were times when I wanted to skim ahead and see what would happen. There were also several places where the dual author format tripped things up and created inconsistencies in the story.
Towards the end of the Reagan and Drew’s story, the focus started to shift slightly to the characters in the next book, but the shift didn’t truly feel organic.
This is a decent read, especially if you are looking for a “love redeems” theme. I feel like a little more polish would have made things better, but I did enjoy it.
