Got a place for a 20-by-15-foot banner of William Andrews? It used to hang in the Georgia Dome to honor the former Auburn running back for his NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons.
How about the locker used by former Alabama standout Julio Jones in the Georgia Dome as an All-Pro receiver with the Falcons?
Both items are among the hundreds up for bid as the contents of the Georgia Dome are being liquidated.
The Falcons will play the Green Bay Packers at 7:30 p.m. CDT Sunday in the first NFL regular-season game in the Georgia Dome's replacement -- Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Georgia Dome is headed toward implosion on Nov. 20.
Through an online auction that runs until 9 a.m. CDT Sept. 30, fans and collectors can bid on items that range from championship banners that hung from the rafters to the signs on the restroom doors. There are pieces of turf, end zone pylons, framed photos and yard markers plus posters from the locker room warning players about bribes and gambling and advising them on which cleats are best for artificial turf.
Schneider Industries, in charge of disposing of the Georgia Dome's contents, already got rid of the furniture, fixtures and video boards through sealed bids, and the stadium's seats were sold online for $599 for a connected set of two.
