HWPS & PTA Hurricane Harvey Relief

The Hewlett-Woodmere Public School District, in partnership with the Hewlett-Woodmere Central Council PTA, has decided to provide assistance to the West Orange-Cove Consolidated Independent School District in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. The district is located in southeast Texas, near the Louisiana border.   

They have been hard hit by the storm, and will not be able to open for students until September 19th at the earliest.  Their school buildings have suffered significant damage, and many of their students and staff have been displaced by the flooding. We seek to "Pay It Forward" raising funds.

The most effective and expedient way we can provide tangible support would be by fundraising through a "GoFundMe" account.  In this way, we can try to raise money quickly and send them a check to support their efforts to reopen and provide their students with what they need.  This may include food, school supplies, and financial support for after-school activities that may be beneficial to the students and community in the months ahead.
