The X Factor song choices revealed - Week 1: Express Yourself 

The nation’s favourite singing show, hosted by Dermot O’Leary, returns this weekend with the start of the anticipated live rounds. 

This weekend the categories will be split across both shows with Simon’s Groups and Nicole’s Overs performing on Saturday and Louis’ Boys and Sharon’s girls performing on Sunday. Saturday’s show will also reveal the wildcards, which have been chosen by the public, with one additional act from each category joining the contestants and performing in their categories. 

Across the weekend, each of the final 16 contestants will sing their hearts out, live on the brand new X Factor stage, in front of judges Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell. 

The final 16 will be kicking off the series with this week’s theme; ‘Express Yourself’ where each act will perform a song that best represents who they are as an artist.

BOYS 
Lloyd Macey: ‘City of Stars’ (La La Land)
Spencer Sutherland: ‘Who You Are’ (Jessie J)
Sam Black: ‘Faith’ (Stevie Wonder ft. Ariana Grande) 

OVERS 
Kevin Davy White: ‘Stay’ (Rihanna ft. Mikky Ekko)
Matt Linnen: ‘Scars to Your Beautiful’ (Alessia Cara)
Tracyleanne Jefford: ‘Written in the Water’ (Gin Wigmore)  

Note to editors: Wildcard contestants’ songs will be revealed on the show this weekend.
