Police say a home invader was shot and killed by one homeowner in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania, after beating an elderly woman with a baseball bat in another home in the same area.

The invader was shot in the abdomen around 6 a.m. and still had to be physically subdued before he died from his wounds.

According to Penn Live, police identified the deceased invader as 23-year-old Servando Santos. They said “the owner of the home told Santos to halt, warned Santos that he was armed and then fired when Santos refused to stop.” The homeowner’s family members then subdued the Santos.

Officers investigating the incident indicate that Santos “was involved in an assault on an elderly woman at another home on the same block” just before being shot. The elderly woman is hospitalized in critical condition and her name has not been released.

Police stress that the invasion was an “isolated incident” and that there is no broader threat.
