A gorgeous former Marine with a tortured soul.
The beautiful, compassionate therapist living next door.
A meddlesome grandma determined to get them together.

From USA Today Bestselling Author Melanie Harlow comes an all new standalone romance that will make you believe in the redemptive power of love.

I was expecting a proposal on my birthday, and I got dumped instead.

How could I have been so clueless?

Grams knew exactly how to distract me.

The “cute boy next door” who’s been helping her with yard work clearly needs a little therapy. Who better to call than her newly single therapist granddaughter?

She even fakes dementia to get me to visit, and now that I’m here she’s doing everything in her power to throw us together.

Not that I’m complaining. Ryan is the sexiest man I’ve ever met--I mean the full package, from the chiseled jaw to the massive shoulders to the rippling abs. (And yes, his package is full, and he knows exactly how to deliver it.) He makes me want to get out of my head and follow my heart. He makes me want to take chances I never thought I’d take.

He also makes me want to take my clothes off. A lot.

But he’s moody and challenging--one minute he’s an open book, and the next he’s completely closed off. He holds me like he’ll never let go, but insists he wants to be alone.

Some wounds are so deep, only love can heal them.

How can I convince him to let me try?

I watched the candlelight play over her beautiful features and felt an ache deep in my chest. Regret that I couldn’t give her all she deserved. Anguish that soon she’d be out of my life, probably forever. And longing—fierce, uncontrollable longing to hold her in my arms and never let her go.

”ONLY LOVE” is the third and final installment of the ”One and Only” series. We are finally getting the eldest Devine sister’s story. Throughout the series, Stella seemed to be the level-headed, kind of boring sister. She’s been in a year-long relationship with a man in which they’ve never once had sex and Stella has always stood behind her beliefs that sex isn’t the key to a successful coupling. It looks like all she needed was to meet the right man who would obliterate all her misguided notions. All she needed was a little ”help" from her adorable and sneaky ninety-two-year-old grandmother.

Stella’s just been dumped by her boyfriend on her birthday. She spends a little time wallowing in self-pity, until her grandmother calls and asks her to come pay a visit. Little does she know, her grams has a match-making grand plan that involves her very sexy and single next door neighbor and her last remaining beautiful and single grand-daughter.

Ryan is an ex-marine, who has had a hard time acclimating to civilian life. His fiancé left him because of his inability to show true emotions. He’s not suffering from PTSD, he just has trouble grappling with the things he has had to do in the name of his country and then being back home in the states where he gets a mixture of opposing receptions from people when they learn he is a recent war veteran.

The moment Ryan and Stella meet, you can feel the electricity in the air. Grams is very wise and has gotten it right but these two are stubborn, and so it’s going to take a lot of intervention by this cute little old cupid to make them realize they’ve finally found their true other halves.

The ”One and Only” series has been my favorite so far by Melanie Harlow. I’m looking forward to the spin-off series and have a feeling everyone is going to fall in love with the Hero in book one! For those of you who love romances with a single father, I believe we are in for a real treat!!

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4.5
Heroine: 4.5
Plot: 4
Angst: 4
Steam: 4.5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

“It’s hard to remain emotionally detached from someone when his body fits so perfectly inside yours. When his hands in your hair leave you breathless. When the weight of his chest and the thrust of his hips and the sound of his ragged breathing renders you mindless and panting, your hands clutching, your muscles tightening, your body begging for more, more, more. When he looks down at you and you feel his heart beating hard against yours. When he pulls your hair and bruises your skin and the pain feels more like pleasure. When he reaches the edge of his own release and holds back, determined to take you with him this time.”

Such a heartwarming story 💗 From the beginning of this story, I wanted Ryan and Stella together. Instant attraction, the instant insanely hot chemistry, and the whole I’m in love with you from first sight, this couple indeed had a very quick and insta love. It completely worked for me. I fell in love with their story❤️

Definitely one for you to pick up if you are that insta love romance lover

-The bravest thing you can do is trust another person, and let them see the real you.

Stella Devine is a therapist living in Detroit. She's the oldest of three sisters, and is the shy, analytical one. Her sisters have both found love, but Stella has always preferred to play it safe when it comes to dating. She doesn't do meaningless flings, and most of her relationships have been lacking a spark. When her latest boyfriend breaks up with her out of the blue, she is completely blindsided.

Her Grams calls and wants her to come stay with her and run a few errands, and Stella decides she could definitely use a distraction. She heads to her Grams for a few days to visit. While there she's introduced to the boy next door who has been helping Grams with her yard work. This boy is not what she was expecting. He's all man, and a gorgeous, former Marine. It's soon very clear Grams is trying to play matchmaker, and set her up with her sexy neighbor.

Ryan Woods is struggling to adjust to civilian life after being in the military. He's moved to a small town for a fresh start. He doesn't care about having friends or a social life. He wanted to be somewhere where he's not expected to be anything he isn't. He didn't want to interact much with people, and wanted to go somewhere he didn't know anyone where he could be left alone. The last few years of his life had been difficult, and left him with some rough edges. He was just trying to do regular life, and found peace in solitude. Then he meets his neighbors granddaughter Stella. She's beautiful, kind, and there's just something about her. A light he wanted to be near. He tries to keep his distance, but fails miserably. The chemistry between them is too strong, and eventually they stop fighting it. They share a connection beyond the physical, with no expectations, but when real feelings develop will they step out of their comfort zone and try for more?

-Never underestimate a granny on a mission. Especially the matchmaking kind.

-It had been a long time since I'd been so attracted to anyone- so quickly too.

-I hadn't been so turned on by a man in years.

-"I've never met anyone like him. He's complicated and moody and quiet, but he's also funny and kind and sweet. And he's beautiful. I can hardly be in the same room with him without wanting to tear his clothes off."

-I wanted this with him. I wanted everything.

This is a fantastic story about two lonely people who needed one another desperately, and the healing power of love. One standoffish, silent type who is closed off from feeling emotion, and one who is ready to open up and come out of her shell. Together it's almost effortless, and they are vulnerable as they experience something new and beautiful. This book is also seriously sensual and hot! Lol, Stella gets her groove back! ;)) Stella is in a funk before meeting Ryan. Her love life goes from boring to on fire intense pleasure and uncontrollable desire. This delicious man ignites her heart, body and soul, and makes her feel alive. I adored Grams so much! She was absolutely hilarious! I can't wait for Mack's book up next!

Only Love is the 3rd book in the One and Only that revolves around Stella and Ryan. I did have a rocky start with mention of “humble lady garden and his royal spade” (see update), but I settled down and really enjoyed this one.

When Stella meets her boyfriend for her birthday dinner, she thinks he is going to propose, but he dumps her instead. Brokenhearted, she decides to go visit her Grams so she help her 93 year old Grandmother, with a few appointments. Little does Stella know, Grams is trying to be a matchmaker with Stella and her next door neighbor Ryan. When Stella and Ryan meet, there is instant attraction, the first time Stella has ever felt a pull to a man before. But Ryan has some inner struggles and has learned to “turn off” his feelings, yet he can’t stop thinking about Stella. Maybe he could allow himself to feel for Stella?

I really liked both Stella and Ryan. Yes, there were times I wanted to smack Ryan, but Stella wasn’t a pushover, and was able to understand Ryan like no one has ever had before. And of course, I absolutely adored martini swigging Grams. Sometimes, Grams knows best!!

Wow! Ryan and Stella are going to knock your socks off! I have loved seeing Stella from her sisters' eyes. She's been a bit misunderstood, a bit uptight, and a bit unsure of herself.

And with good reason.

But sometimes all we need is a special someone to bring us out of our shells and really show us what it's like to feel. Live. Love.

By the time we finished eating dessert, I had a solid buzz going, so I blame the gin for what happened next.

And boy, if what happened to Stella after having that gin could happen to me? Yeah, I'd blame the gin too.

Ryan is a former Marine who is trying to figure out his role as a civilian. He isn't quite sure what he's supposed to do so he keeps to himself.
Well, except for the fact his neighbor keeps him busy with odd jobs around the house. And he spends some time with his friend, Mack (#MackIsMine, fyi, so back off). Other than that, he's a quiet kind of guy.

But, well, Ryan's dear neighbor just happens to have a granddaughter. And she just happens to be coming up for a visit.

Yes. Grams is the greatest character. She's hilarious, she's sweet, she's charming, and she is a matchmaker. Or she tries to be.

Ryan meets Stella. Stella meets Ryan.

What happens next, I blame on the gin.

I am expecting more from Stella and Ryan story. After all, ex military usually promising a very angst and drama romance. But I am tad disappointed. On One and Only series, I think Miss Harlow intended audience is NA. So the topic of the story is pretty mild to adult romance. Stella'c character develop pretty well. The grandma, in my opinion, deserves her own book.

What is off is Ryan. His character develop just enough to make the story goes on. What does not sit well with me is the fact Ryan was so admen not to have any kind of relationship, but in the last moment, he changed his tune. And the plot/ story does not support/ give more insight why Ryan changed his mind. Thats my only issue with this book.

Overall the story is flat. But sweet enough. And remember this series is intended to NA.

5 stars!! 😍

beautiful beautiful love story!
it's emotional, passionate and ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! i went straight for the 3rd book in this series because I knew that Stella and Ryan's story would be a unique one.

Ryan, a former marine, is a troubled man. he has learn to shut off his emotions as a way to cope with all the trauma - both physical & emotional ones not only from his military times, but also from his ex-wife.

Stella, a therapist, was actually tricked by her grandmother for a visit after she got dumped by her boyfriend ON her birthday. little did she know that Grams has a plan all along and figured that it's time to put her matchmaking skills to use.

their journey to a happily-ever-after was beautifully written. The chemistry between Stella and Ryan is undeniable! i love it when Ryan tried his best to open up letting Stella in, and also for once, not turning off his emotions but let himself enjoy the love and joy from Stella.

they're a passionate couple and Melanie Harlow doesn't shy away from those details either.
but yep, it's definitely sizzling in the bedroom (and other places too)

5 stars! ✨✨

As the oldest of 3 siblings, Stella is starting to feel left behind by her two baby sisters—Emme and Maren—who are both getting married and starting their families. Stella loves her career as a therapist and has been in a relationship with a psychology professor—Walter—for the past year, but Stella is ready for the next stage in life. On her birthday, Walter texts Stella that he wants to talk and Stella is convinced Walter is finally going to propose. Walter is a sensible, safe choice. No, him and Stella have absolutely no chemistry and have never been intimate together, but passion isn't everything, right? So Stella is set on saying “yes” to Walter’s proposal, except a proposal isn't what he had in mind. Instead, he's met someone else at work and dumps Stella on her birthday.

Stella doesn’t have long to stew over her recent breakup because she gets a call out-of-the-blue from her grandma, Ruthie. She needs Stella’s help and asks Stella to come right away. But when Stella gets there, she learns grandma Ruthie is just fine—the real reason she was dragged out of Detroit was to meet Ruthie’s next door neighbor, an ex-marine named Ryan. Sure, he’s hot as hell, but what does Ruthie think is going to happen?

Ryan is recently divorced after several tours overseas and is looking for a fresh start. He’s convinced he is feeling-less, forever numb. And he’s completely content with that. Until he meets Stella. She’s beautiful, for one thing, but she is also confident and smart and 100% independent. And before long, sparks fly between them.

Stella never thought she could feel passion like she does with Ryan. She thought she couldn’t have sexual chemistry with anyone, let alone someone she just met. But they get along just as great between the sheets as they do out of them. The only problem? Ryan isn’t looking to open up, vows never to remarry, whereas Stella wants to settle down and start a family. And it doesn't help that they live hundreds of miles apart.

Even though they know the odds are stacked against them, Stella and Ryan are inseparable. And even though Stella knows her heart is bound to get broken, she can’t help but fall for Ryan.

Only Love by Melanie Harlow is the third and final installment in the One and Only series. I absolutely loved book one in the series (Only You), but was let down by book two (Only Him), so I was worried the series was going downhill for me. But I adored Only Love! Ryan and Stella’s romance made me swoon and I loved both their sexual chemistry and witty banter. I also like that there’s mention of the crossover series, Cloverleigh Farms, which I’m starting next week. This has me invested in who I hope to be hero in the first book in that series (Mack). Great conclusion to an awesome series—4.5/5 stars.

Melanie Harlow offers up another great romance in Only Love the third and final book in her One and Only series.

After watching her two younger sisters find love and being dumped on her birthday by the man she thought she’d spend the rest of her life with, Stella is determined to have a f*ck fling and when visiting her grandmother (who is quite the match maker), Stella decides the “boy” next door who has been so good to her grandmother is just who she needs. What she doesn’t expect is to find former Marine and sexy as all get out Ryan a bit apprehensive and a whole lot not interested.

I liked Stella granted she had dated some real jerks in the past and despite being a therapist had allowed them to chip away at her own self esteem, but she was a good granddaughter, sister, and friend. I loved her inner monologue and the fact that she regularly tried to convince herself she was doing the right thing even when she questioned it. I adored her relationship with her sisters and her grandmother.

It took me awhile to warm up to Ryan and as his story unfolded it was easy to see why he had cut himself off from people and the world around him. There is no doubt war can change people and I think Ms. Harlow did a great job of showing how it affects people once they are home in more ways than one. While I liked that Ryan helped his elderly neighbor (Stella’s grandmother), he had a$$hole tendencies that grew old after awhile.

For Stella meeting Ryan woke up all kinds of feelings she had never had for a man before and while it was easy to see Ryan felt the same way he refused to give into it. I have to give Stella a lot of credit for continuing to try and have a fling with Ryan and while he did finally realize he was being stupid by not taking what she was offering he also gave me whiplash with his wishy-washy behavior. The fact he kept repeating that behavior and that Stella let him off the hook way too easy time and time again is the reason I couldn’t score this book higher than four stars.

Sometimes a secondary character can really steal the show and Gram hands down stole scene after scene. From her dating advice, to her relationship musings, to her blatant matchmaking, I adored this character so much and this book would not have been the same without her.

Completely entertaining, fun, sexy, and full of emotion Only Love finishes this series out on a high note.

4.5 Pie Loving CROWNS

Only Love epitomizes everything I love about a Melanie Harlow novel. She gives a sweet romance with fantastic chemistry and physical intimacy to heat up the sheets, and Ryan and Stella exhibit this flawlessly.

Ryan is a veteran, one who is a bit damaged from his service. Through his relationship, we see him begin to deal with his emotions and begin to heal a bit. There are obvious setbacks, but overall Only Love is about his growth as a person. What Melanie Harlow does with his character is use it as a platform to discuss the many struggles and emotions that plague soldiers who are returning to civilian life - the guilt, the depression, and absolution. Reader hearts will ache for him, but also find joy in his evolution.

Stella is an interesting heroine. At the beginning of the novel, she is self conscious, not about her intelligence or worth but her body and sexual prowess. It has led her to make some safe choices when dealing with love. There will be, I’m sure, readers who don’t love the somewhat antiquated notions that are perpetuated by Grams, but I love the simplicity of the ideas behind it. I love that Stella just wants someone to support and love, someone who she can be herself with and vice versa. I found it to be a search of love in its simplest form.

This is a bit insta-love, but unlike most insta romances, Melanie Harlow is able to establish a real and genuine connection. These two share and connect emotionally and intellectually as well as physically. It allows readers to believe in the authenticity of their relationship, even though it is quick. The plot itself holds little to no surprises, and readers will be able to figure out the general plot earlier on. This doesn’t decrease the enjoyment of the journey, but I do wish their would have been a bit more of the unexpected.

Only Love is a great conclusion to this series of standalones. I love that Melanie Harlow brought a secondary subplot, exposing issues facing veterans. It brought a bit something to the romance, giving depth to the characters and their story.

I have been waiting for Stella's story since meeting her in Only You and I was not disappointed! This story had so much heart and emotion. Though this is book 3 in the One and Only series, it can be read as a stand alone.

Ryan and Stella were broken and in so much pain when they first met. I loved seeing these two slowly come together and heal the other. Yes, there are some missteps and a good amount of push and pull, but you can just feel the connection between them from the start. Once Ryan's emotional baggage is revealed, it's easier to understand why he reacted and responded the way that he did. The best thing about Ryan and Stella was that they each accepted and loved the other exactly as they were. They knew there would be hard times, but they allowed the other to be exactly who they were without judgment or criticism. The epilogue was the perfect way to bring everything full circle and I couldn't have been happier as this series draws to a close.

Grams was such a fun addition to the story and was the perfect balance to the heavier moments in the story. All of her meddling brought a smile to my face and I'm pretty sure I need Gram's recipes for apple pie and meatloaf! ;) Catching up with Emme and Maren was awesome as well, and though this book didn't have as much sisterly banter, I loved seeing how their happily ever afters have progressed. Mack definitely caught my attention in the story and I was so happy to see that it will be his story next to start off Melanie's new series!

This is the third book in the One and Only series but each of them can be read as standalones. Having said that, there are inter-connections between the books so I do recommend you read them all.

Stella just got dumped on her birthday, not the outcome she was expecting at all, in fact the complete opposite of what she had conjured up in her mind. Her two younger sisters have found love and are creating families while she quietly wonders if it will ever happen for her.

As soon as Stella’s 92 year old Gram finds out she is single she has a sudden need for her grand daughter to come and visit her. Her claimed ailing health is what manages to seal the deal. What Stella doesn’t know if that good old Grams has decided to meddle in her grand daughters love life.

Ryan is Gram’s new neighbour. He often helps her out with small chores and is always willing to get what she needs done. Ryan is the strong, silent, brooding moody type and Grams thinks that he could potentially be perfect for Stella. She knows that underneath that veneer is a lonely man. Grams is going to help Stella by using some tried and tested methods that mainly involve home cooked food.

Stella is definitely attracted to Ryan when she first meets him but he is a man of few words and hidden emotions so it’s not easy to get a read on him. With Gram’s prodding, and baked goodies, Stella persists in trying to get to know Ryan. One day at a time she slowly opens the path of conversation with Ryan which quickly moves into something more physical. They both have an itch that hasn’t been scratched in an age!

Ryan and Stella have very different back stories but they recognise the loneliness in each other. Stella has not had much luck with love so she is happy to just settle for someone who will treat her right. She isn’t looking for that great love she has heard about others finding. Ryan lights her up from the inside out, worshipping her body and making her feel like the beautiful woman she is.

‘I’d never in my entire life seen a body like his. As my humble lady garden began to tingle, I wondered what his royal spade was like.’

Ryan’s mood swings are not easy to deal with but he is definitely learning to open up to Stella, more than he has with anyone else in his life. He wants to share more of himself with her. However, in the back of his mind is the fact that soon she will be leaving and that this thing they share has a ime limit on it.

Meanwhile Grams continues to play them both, old people are good at doing sneaky things and getting away with them, using their age as an excuse. She is a wise woman though and if you want help finding love, it’s best to talk to someone who has found it themselves.

‘Never underestimate a granny on a mission. Especially the matchmaking kind.’

I enjoyed getting swept up in this story and all the hilarious shenanigans that Grams gets up to. A fabulous light hearted romance story.

***5 ‘Flipping The Switch’ Stars***

I’ve been wanting Stella’s story since meeting her in Only You. Everything about her peaked my curiosity from how different she was from her sisters to her very...interesting relationship with Buzz. I wanted to, for lack of a better way to say it, get into her head and find out what made her tick and Only Love gave me everything I wanted and more.

So. Much. More.

This story pulled out all the feels and tugged at every heartstring I have. It was everything!

I adored Stella and Ryan. Stella is complex in the best of ways and I found that I could relate to a lot of what she was going through...maybe not when it came to the exact situations, but the general feelings they invoked in her. She is caring, confident and focused, but she also has her insecurities which made her feel real. Ryan broke my heart. I mean here is a good, decent and honorable man who has been through hell and is struggling to find his way in a world that can’t/won’t/doesn’t understand, but he keeps going and that strength of will was something to see.

Ryan and Stella’s journey to their HEA had all the feels and I couldn’t get enough of it. The chemistry between them was real and that indescribable feeling that they belonged together was strong. The push/pull happened a lot in this one, but it was necessary for them both so that they could come out on the other side stronger and I loved where they both ended up when everything was said and done.

Of the three books in the series, this was my favorite ~ hands down. I was hooked from the start and didn’t want it to end. But I have to admit, that while I loved and adored Ryan and Stella, Grams was my favorite character. I want to be her when I grow up. The way that woman’s mind works is everything. And I loved catching up with Nate and Emme and Maren and Dallas and seeing where they were all at in their relationships. I also have to say that I really liked how Ms. Harlow went about showing us the demons Ryan was living with and how it affected not only him, but those around him. It was heartbreaking, but real and I thought handled with respect. While I am sad that this is the last book in this series, I’m happy that there will be a spinoff and am crossing my toes that Grams will make an appearance or two.

Only Love was the very satisfying conclusion to the One and Only triad. Ryan is a tortured hero (my favorite kind!) who has tried to remain alone and unfeeling to cope with his military past. Stella is looking for all the feelings. Ryan put up a good fight, throwing up walls when Stella got to close. In the end, he was no match for Stella, Grams and the magic pie!

“He could break my heart if I let him. And I was fairly certain I’d let him.”

What a breathtaking romance! Only Love is a beautiful brand-new standalone romance in Melanie Harlow’s One and Only series and I can’t stop thinking about it! It has a tortured hero, a shy but compassionate heroine, and a nosey Grams who will stop at nothing to get these two together. With all three POV’s, this love story is full of heart, hilarity, hope, and love. It’s a gorgeous read that will have your stomach full of butterflies and your heart full of happiness. There’s nothing quite like a Melanie Harlow Romance to make you fell all gooey inside.

Stella, Ryan, and yes, even Grams will absolutely steal your heart! This former Marine may be able to flip a switch and turn off his ability to feel, but when it comes to the woman next door, nothing can diminish or numb the spark that she brings out in him. Between their scorching hot connection and their undeniable chemistry, Grams can meddle all she wants, but it was fate that ultimately brought these two together. This was truly a fairytale-worthy romance from one of my all time favorite authors in the genre!

I really enjoyed this sweet and easy read. Even though Ryan irritated me at times with his push and pull attitude, Only Love is worthy of 5 stars.
I loved Gram and her meddlesome ways, she made me laugh out loud and was the star of the book.
I was so pleased to see that Mack will be getting his story in February 2019, I know hes going to have a good one!

Leave it to Melanie Harlow to slay me with the perfectly tortured bad boy with a fucking heart of gold that is just existing in the shadows...until he meets his light. I LOVED THIS STORY. I was excited to get Stella's story. Her and Buzz didn't seem to be a "fit" and I knew she was set to find her HEA but how it all went about and the changing of the POV's kept me so connected and smiling throughout the entire book. Melanie Harlow is a MUST read author for me and Only Love only helped solidify the why...heart, engaging, friendships and a crazy gram that knows when two people are meant for each other. Both of these characters displayed honor, strength and love that was absolutely immediate. I can't say enough about this one.

Oh my lawd....this book did me in! I laughed, I cried, I was heartbroken but most of all I was consumed, consumed by a story where two people weren't sure about love and if they deserved it or would ever find it! My heart hurt for the pain, anger and guilt Ryan had felt and carried with him until he met Stella. Stella showed Ryan compassion, understanding, trust and love. This was my favorite book of the One and Only series and one I highly recommend because it will leave you with all the feels!

If you're looking for a contemporary romance that will completely wrap you up in every word then look no further. If you're looking for characters you will fall in love with while they fall in love with each other than this book is for you. Only Love is the newest story by Melanie Harlow and she once again gave me excellence.

I absolutely adored Ryan and Stella. They had some baggage, that's for sure, but watching them unpack that baggage with and for each other was one of the things that made this story amazing. Plus there was Grams. We cannot forget about Grams.

This book hit me in the feels. It had me laughing out loud. But most of all it had me loving every minute of it. This is one I highly recommend and look forward to experiencing all over again in audio.

This was ok. Just a little out there. No one had even mentioned Grams until this, so I guess that it just didn’t feel genuine or happen organically. The best part of this book? 100%, Grams.

Stella hasn't had very much luck with men. Her boyfriend dumped her, on her birthday no less, and since then, she's been in a funk. Her sister wants her to have a fuck fling. Yep, a fuck fling. Um what? But Stella just may get her chance to have that very thing when their Grams cons Stella into going up to Grams' house to check on her health. Grams has her new, obviously lonely neighbor in mind for her Stella. Although Ryan is very quiet and doesn't interact much with Grams when he does odd jobs around her house, Grams can tell he just needs the touch of the right woman to bring him out of his shell. Stella is that woman, or so Gram thinks.

When compassionate, sweet therapist Stella meets grumpy, anti-social, unfeeling Ryan at her Grams' house, it's not all sparks flying. Instead, it's Stella quietly admiring the former Marine and Ryan determinedly not engaging with her, even though in his mind he is appreciating her. But as they tumble into a casual thing, will Ryan open up to Stella as he realizes he'll never get enough of her? Or will his unfeeling heart keep Stella frozen out?

I loved Only Love. Melanie Harlow always delivers, but she really set the bar with Only Love. It's one of those quiet stories that steals its way into your heart and sticks around long after you're done reading. It's got all the feels, it's sexy, it's sweet, and heartwarming. I loved Ryan and Stella together, how she compassionately and in a non-judgmental way, set about getting Ryan to fall in love with her. Ryan isn't the character I thought he'd be, and that's a very good thing. I thought this would be one of those stories where he'd be so beastly in his PTSD, and she'd be the beauty who would drag him back to civilization. But it's not really that. For one, Ryan doesn't really have PTSD, he's just having trouble transitioning into civilian life, and he's numb. Stella isn't a bulldozer of a therapist - no, she's a calm, peaceful angel who gets Ryan in ways he wasn't expecting. I love that as sexy as this is, as they are, it's in a quieter, really sweet way. Kudos to Melanie for this thoughtful take on the veteran and the therapist.

This maybe one of my favorite of Melanie Harlow's yet. It was heartfelt yet swoony and sexy too. I adored Stella and Ryan they felt so realistic and genuine. Stella was relatable in her feelings about being left behind and wanting the safe choice. Her initial hurt from the fallout of the broken relationship but it had silver lining she didn't know yet. Ryan was closed himself off after his service and things he that happened, understandably and he needed a warm hug and lots of pie. I was so engrossed in this book it just flew by and I wanted more.

It's the wounded ones that need all the TLC even if they push you away. Ryan did that lots of isolation and keeping things to himself. Stella was perfect for him in that she listens and in her quiet way appeals to him, her compassion and heart is part of her inner beauty He relaxes her and is patient with her which is sweet in his way. It's hard for him to let go of his old hurts and Stella helped by listening.

Grams was awesome and such a cute addition to the story. She's quite a matchmaker and so sneaky. She brought two lonely people together and they got their happy ending. I was delighted to see Ryan and Stella and their interactions were not always light but it felt genuine. I don't think it was insta even if it developed faster they connected easily and got past the initial stuff.

I'm sad this is the last book for this series but there's a spinoff to come so that's great.
