Nightshade

Rate this book
The heart-stopping final installment in New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams’s Redemption series.

My life has never been my own. From the time I could walk, I was trained to be the mob’s hardened assassin. To be a monster. I’ve been told what to do, when to kill, and who to love. The minute I strayed, I lost everything.

Then I met Jessica.

She swept into my life like a storm of heartache, seduction, and intrigue. She’s everything I hate, but with one look, I can’t stay away. With one touch, she ignites a craving unlike anything I’ve ever known.

But her secrets threaten to destroy everything closest to me. Including her…

Together we’re poison. A destructive combination of darkness and chaos. And I want to savor every drop in my veins.

***The Redemption series is a series of interconnected romantic suspense standalones***

Molly grew up in California but now lives with her husband and daughter in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas. When she's not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach . . . which roughly translates to being a homebody and dishing out movie quotes with her hubby. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and loves curling up in a fluffy blanket during a thunderstorm . . . or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren't really happening.

Holee-Mother-Effin' Nightshade! This book is powerful and intense! I was not just captivated by this heart stopping final installment, I was hypnotized by Molly McAdams words, and I didn't want them to end!

If romantic suspense are a thing, then Molly McAdams just paved her way into my heart earning that badge of favorite author in romantic suspense. Wow! This woman can write and I don't just mean write. Because in Molly's true fashion, she made writing her bitch. Her words and lines were packed full of weighted roller coaster of feels. All I did was basked all of it and I was obsessed. I inhaled and breathed it. First page in and I don't want to let go of the book. I was drawn into the darkness of the story. I devoured it hungrily and never once I put it down until I hit the ending. I am in love with Kieran and Jessica. They were incredibly portrayed with Molly's brilliant, flawless and full of heart writing skills.

Kieran already stole my heart when I met him in Firefly. However, reading his journey with Jessica, all bets were off as these two smoothly made their way and OWNED my heart and soul. Jessica's chaos to Kieran's darkness was my addiction. They gripped, ripped, and shattered my heart with the darkness looming around them. Each battling their own demons yet each fitted perfectly. Their intensity was overwhelming I had my heart palpitated with the angst and rawness it brings. But gahd! It was a beautiful feeling that fueled me to keep on turning the pages. They consumed me in their journey of redemption. It was sinful and gritty yet passionately sexy and dangerous and oh so beautifully flawed. With its darkness and edge, I was left wanting for more.

Swear, this is this particular moment I wish I have that magical words so I can convey my emotions well in this review. I have a lot to say about the book, but afraid of saying too much that will end up spoiling you. I guess I will just say, read this final installment and for all of those holy, if you haven't had the chance of reading the first book or second for that matter, do me a favor. Read this series. Binge read it and thank me later.

I highly recommend it! Nightshade is a must read!

”What if it all went wrong so you could find what’s been waiting for you?”

Here I sit days after reading, unable to read another book as this story STRUCK ME SO HARD!!! Hours and days after reading, just thinking of this story leaves tears that stay etched in my eyes. I am still STUNNED SPEECHLESS from Nightshade by Molly McAdams, a STUNNING STORY that stole, stripped, and shattered both my heart and soul. Captivating ... chaotic ... dark ... dangerous ... and devastatingly beautiful, Nightshade is the PERFECT STORM ... MY perfect storm.

Happiness. That word would never touch my life again. Happiness wasn’t meant for girls like me.

Nightshade GRIPPED ME immediately, chasing my heart and soul like a fierce fire where I fell to the flames. This firestorm of feels was a fight I would not—did not—want to win. Nightshade both lit me up with life while casting my soul into the dark. Every breath matched every breathtakingly beautiful word. Light to light. Dark to dark. Beauty to beauty. Feel to feel. I FELT NIGHTSHADE EVERYWHERE.

One page and I was ENSNARED in the trap called Nightshade.
One page and I BROKE for the heroine.
One page and I knew Nightshade would break me ... and that it did!

I wasn’t scared for my life. I was scared for my soul.

From the moment I met the intensely dark knight, Kieran, in Firefly, the story that precedes Nightshade, I LOVED HIM. Long blond hair. Piercing green eyes. Tall and muscular. Fierce. Deadly. A man who would lay down his life for those he loves. A man battling darkness but is still a dark hero. Kieran, AKA, Nightshade, is the ULTIMATE HERO—-my Robin Hood! Kieran is PERFECTION!!!

He was terrifying. And he was beautiful.

Nightshade has met his match in Jessica. Beautiful. Broken. Bold. Brave. Jessica is as evasive and lethal as Kieran.

”Chaos. Everything you make me feel. Everything you are. Chaos.”

Chaos and calm collide and what an EXPLOSION Nightshade is ... a heart-pounding HIGH!!!
The banter spiked with hate and heat...
The angst that burned like a constant flame...
The chemistry that could not be stopped...
Just so INCREDIBLY INTENSE...just so EVERYTHING!!!

”I hate that I want you.”

Jessica has led a life of hell and no man will ever control her. No man until Kieran...

”Because I’ve never wanted to give up control as much as I do with you.”

These sweet and soulful words MELTED ME!!! Kieran and Jessica were EXPLOSIVE together ... a union of fire and ice. Their chemistry was on FIRE!!! I felt their POWERFUL PULL pull me.

There was something inside her that called to me.

The INTENSITY?!? I felt it EVERYWHERE!!! Nightshade had me on EDGE, my heart not beating but THRASHING out of my chest!!! Twisted. Tortuous. Tender. Tough. These words sliced through me like a knife, cutting me open. This story SHATTERED ME into many pieces. Each piece of this poignant tale took and was a part of me. My heart bled and beat for this book, a book that BROKE ME IN THE BEST WAY!!!

”What if I was made for you and you were made for me?”

When you begin and end a story in TEARS, one so full of PASSION, PROMISE, and POIGNANCY, where every FEEL IS FELT, that story is one that you’ll FEEL FOREVER!!! I SURRENDERED my body, breath, heart, soul, and every emotion to Nightshade. I was so LOST in this story that I didn’t want to be found. Fire and ice. Dark and light. Love and loss. Holy RUSH!!! Nightshade is the BEST EMOTIONAL CHAOS!!! This soul-shattering story is one not only read but FELT long after the last page.

I have been intrigued with Kieran, aka Nightshade. I never thought it could happen but Molly Mc Adams made me have sympathy and want a happily ever after for this cold blooded, calculated assassin. Nightshade is the end of the Redemption series, which is billed as interconnected but standalone romantic suspense. You can read them as standalones but I highly recommend reading Firefly before Nightshade because you are introduced to Kieran in Firefly and events that affect the plot in Nightshade do occur in Firefly.

Kieran is a complicated anti-hero; he’s been raised to be an assassin Holloway gang. He had his heartbroken by the woman he was raised to protect and love. Jessica, wow, what a horrid life she has had, yet she’s never given up. In the beginning of the book I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to get past her occupation but I kept an open mind and trusted Ms. Mc Adams to make it ok and she made it more than ok. Both Kieran and Jessica are deeply troubled, dark characters who just happen to bring light into each other’s lives.

Nightshade kept me on the edge from beginning to the last page. I’ve loved all three stories in The Redemption series however Kieran and Jessica’s is my favorite. The emotions Ms. Mc Adams evoked from me while reading their stories were intense and all over the place. To see these two broken, damaged people fight not only others to survive but their own demons so they could explore the feelings they were having for each other was amazing.

Nightshade is dark, emotional, sexy and believe it or not at times funny. I recommend The Redemption series to anyone who loves romantic suspense and is not adverse to dark romances or anti-heroes and anti-heroines.

4.5 STARS!
Kieran has captivated me from the very beginning—this man so dark and questionable, that I didn't know whether I could ever trust him with my heart let alone him finding his own happiness after losing his beloved Lily.

But after meeting Jessica—the reader will come to see and understand that he has finally met his match. You see Jessica has darkness within herself too and together they calm each other, they bring out different sides of the other. Where there is darkness... there is chaos.

I loved their interactions—so magnetic, so dark yet so sexy. There needed to be someone to tame Kieran's inner monster and Jessica with her wily ways was just the person he needed in his life.

"What if I was made for you and you were made for me?"

The Redemption Series is one of my favorites—with nonstop action and suspense, twists and turns to keep you excited and at the edge of your seat and emotional moments like those found in Nightshade that brings tears to your eyes hoping that these two broken souls could find some inner peace and happiness together—this series truly had it all.

This is the first series I have read by Molly McAdams and I am a forever fan. Her storytelling and characters are completely unforgettable and the drama and action made my heart race and soar and when I closed my kindle I felt complete bliss in reading another amazing book by this very talented author. SO.WELL.DONE!

This installment is definitely the darkest one of them all. And, I lied when I said you can read them out of order. You definitely need to read the second book, Firefly, before reading this one. They're completely connected. What surprised me was I actually teared up a bit with this story when I didn't in the previous two. It's a bit of tear jerker.

This story picks up where the second one left off. Lily has gone off with the love of her life, the rival mob leader, Dare Borello. Kieran is broken up about it because his life's mission was to protect Lily and love her. Somewhere along the line the lines blurred and he unwittingly distanced himself from her to the point where she found love elsewhere. Her dad, Mickey O' Sullivan, has left jail and he's wanting to kill those he assumed betrayed him and the business and Kieran is his number one suspect. Meanwhile, Kieran has slowly been killing people on a list he made; people he feels has ruined his life and Mickey is number 3. What he didn't bank on however was Jessica.

Jessica is the woman that haunts Kieran's best friend Beck. He fell in love with her years ago but she hates him because he sells to her mother who has a heroin addiction. He claims its to keep her from going to other dealers cause he feels he can best protect them both that way but one incident ruined Jessica's life to the point where she took on a different job trade that made Beck hate her. One night she meets Kieran and they realize they have they have a kindred darkness inside of them and maybe, just maybe they can fix each other while trying to prevent family from being killed as well as killing those who deserve it most. They're like two ghosts in the dark trying to find some semblance of normal in a fucked up world.

Like I said, this book is dark. There should probably be a trigger warning because there instances of drugs, physical and emotional abuse including rape, death and lots of depression. But between the dark parts, there are happy instances which make the book a fascinating, emotional read. I really enjoyed the whole trilogy. They're all really well written and I look forward to reading another Molly McAdams in the future.

Yet another powerful, emotional, and well written story by Molly McAdams. I never know what to expect when it comes to Molly's writing except for lots of angst and emotions and she has definitely outdone herself with the third and final book in the Redemption series, Nightshade. Each book in this series gets better and better and she definitely has delved into writing dark romances very very well. This book has me captivated from that gorgeous cover all the way to the very last word when I was left wanting more.

The Redemption series books have more of a slow burn to them. This intriguing and dark story seems to simmer and simmer till it literally explodes in front of your eyes with amazing characters and a brilliant storyline. I did question whether the story was moving too slowly in the beginning and if it would keep my attention, but the first two books were the same way and I ended up falling in love with them big time so I knew this book would turn out the same way. As Kieren and Jessica's story progresses, you are left with more questions than answers, and whilst quite confusing at times, all those questions were definitely answered and explained in perfect detail by the end.

Nightshade ended up being more painful and emotional than the other two books and maybe even had me shedding a tear or two in the process. I fell in love with Kieren's character in Firefly, which I highly recommend reading before this book if you haven't already. He was portrayed as a cold and callous killer but in this book, we get to see a whole other side to Nightshade as he meets the only girl who has been able to tame his darkness. Jessica has her own fair share of demons but it is clear from the start that she will do anything and everything to protect those she loves. From her first interaction with Kieren/Nightshade, Jessica sees that they are both struggling with their inner demons, but for vastly different reasons. Jessica is trying to keep drug dealers at bay to protect her mother and Kieren is a part of that very group responsible for providing her mother with the drugs that very well might kill her. With Jessica's only option to meet the ever increasing debts from her mother's addiction by selling her body, she quickly finds herself not only on Beck's radar, but Kieren's as well. With men threatening her in all directions, it's no wonder that Jess has gone a little crazy and untrusting.

I loved the relationship that slowly unraveled between Kieren and Jess. With neither being willing to trust the other but their bodies calling out for one another, they seek solace in the other's arms. But is Kieren finally ready to move on from Lily and can Jess finally escape the men that are determined to own her and break her? This is definitely a book to savor and that will stay with you long after you finish reading. I can't wait to see what Molly has in store for us next.

After reading Firefly I immediately needed this book. After all Nightshade (Kieran) stole my soul. If you haven't read Firefly stop reading this review and go pick up that book.

I am such a huge fan of the broody, angry and damaged characters and Kieran definitely fits that bill for me.

I was almost distraught by the end of Firefly because Kieran was all alone after losing Lily and I so desperately needed him to find someone that would love him not just despite his "flaws" but because of them.

I loved the way that his story unfolded. Once again we get some twists and turns as we did with the Firefly and I loved the mystery that we also got in this book. All the secrets and I was dying to figure those out. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

For me though this book was all about Kieran and what was left for him other then being that deadly assassin. Jessica was absolutely perfect and you could feel their chemistry, their bond because of the darkness.

This for me was the best book of this series and I'm so sad it's over. Kieran is my fav character out of this and I'm so glad he got his story because he is just amazing.

A perfect ending to this series.

I give this read 5 dark brooding stars..............

When Molly announced she was going to do this series and that she was changing things up. I was excited but a little worried for her. I have read all her books and know what she is best known for and that's emotional heart wrenching reads. I knew she could do it!!!! And I am extremely proud of her for standing her ground and giving us in my opinion some of her best work to date. Welcome to the dark side Molly McAdams. LOL!!!!

If you have been trained all your life to be a killer and to trust no one. How can you ever learn to love? To break your walls down and trust?

I was excited that we were getting Kieran's story. In book two he was dark, hard, raw and so mysterious. But I knew there was so much more to him. And Molly did not let me down. This was a great ending to this series. It was heart wrenching to see the characters split their chests open and spill their pain and truths. But it was also very healing at the same time.

My words won't do this series or this book justice. All I can do is promise you that Molly nailed it!!!! She delivers all the feels with this book/series. And gives you a darker side that needed to be unleashed. And she will leave you begging for more!!!!

"Pray Nightshade doesn’t find you. He’ll slit your throat and bleed you dry."

"Wait for her to stop laughing. That's when it's real."- Kieran

Nightshade, what can I say...when I finished this book I was speechless. I had so many emotions from this book. I was not a fan of nightshade in firefly, but Molly McAdams shows a side of Kieran/nightshade that we didn't see in firefly and you will not be disappointed in what we see of him.

Nightshade gives you twists that were totally unexpected, suspense on what would happen and heart breaking sadness for the things these characters went through to get their happiness!

Grab this now.....a must read after Firefly. Best series by Molly McAdams to date!

I didn’t realize how much this book would rip me open then stitch me up again by the end. Nightshade was more than what I expected.

I was not a fan of Kieran at the end of Firefly. What he became and what he let overcome him I was so disappointed in him but I also understood him. That understanding and curiosity had me waiting on pins and needles for Nightshade. I needed to know his story. I needed more of him. His darkness. His light. Does he find happiness? I needed it all.

What I didn’t expect was how much I loved Jessica. How her story consumed me. I couldn’t read enough of her. She was so flawed. Broken but strong. Hiding behind a mask only one person could remove. Her darkness. His darkness. Each calling out like demons in the night. Perfect for each other.

We really see a different side to Kieran. A side that I loved so much and one that only Jessica could bring out of him. This strong sometimes weak man bought to his knees by a woman is just so hot. I never knew that a killer like him could love like he did. It was so beautiful and I found myself envying Jessica at times.

Nightshade is a dark, beautiful, compelling read that stays with you long after you finish reading. It’s one of those books that you won’t put down until you read every single page. I shouldn’t be surprised but I am. Molly’s writing seems to be evolving with each novel she writes. Her words are like poetry. Flowing through your mind and soul like they belong there.

Nightshade ...... Where do I start?? This store was my favorite of the series and Nightshade just might be my favorite of them all. This book pulls the story together so well and it leaves you with a happy heart. I have waited days to post a review but in the end it's just so hard to write a review for a book that have you such a book hangover and that says something very special about this book. All I can say is I love love loved it and trust me when I say you should read this series!

Nightshade has been trained to kill and protect since he could walk. And it was all for the one girl he loved and needed to protect always- which ended up in him losing her to someone else. Now he is surrounded in the darkness, until Jessica comes crashing into his life. He should hate her, despise her…but he can’t resist her. But Jessica is just as messed up and dangerous as he is. Will their lives poison each other until there is nothing left or will they both be able to find some light in their darkness?

“Happiness. That word would never touch my life again. Happiness wasn’t meant for girls like me. Girls like me grasped the only thing we could find that kept us alive. And for me? That was this. These moments that slowly killed me a little at a time.”

I have been NEEDING Kieran’s story since Firefly ended. I was so sad for Kieran at the end of Firefly and I couldn’t wait to read his story and desperately wanted him to get his happy ending. And let’s just say that Molly did not disappoint at all with his story. Just like Nightshade it was lethal, heart pounding, and sexy as hell.

“I felt myself swaying toward him. Felt myself wanting to know what his chest and arms felt like beneath my fingertips. And I had no idea why. I shouldn’t feel that way. He was the enemy. A man who was disgusted by me. One I needed to hate.”

I loved Kieran in Firefly and I loved him even more in Nightshade. From the beginning of Firefly I felt so much for him; yes he was dangerous and quiet and over protective. But that protectiveness came from such a strong sense of love and duty and I honestly just wanted to hug him. In Nightshade he is still very much the lethal assassin and struggling with losing the girl he loved for so long but as the story progresses we finally get to see some true emotion from him which literally just made my heart melt for him.

“My heart had never felt more out of control. And my darkness had never been more distant. Fucking chaos.”

I thought Jessica was the perfect match to Kieran’s darkness and intensity. A damaged but very strong young woman who knew how to stand up for herself and also could stand up against Kieran when most would run away screaming. She definitely had a vulnerability about her and darkness but she also had a very beautiful soul – the way she wanted to look after her mum despite everything.

“What if I was made for you and you were made for me?”

As with Firefly this book was full of suspense, intensity, darkness and a lot of chemistry and hot scenes between the two main characters. A kind of follow on we are drawn straight back into the lobster world and Kieran having to again step into the role of protector to stop those he loves and cares for from getting hurt. It was a definite nail biter story…throughout I was screaming and crying at my kindle praying nothing terrible would happen. It is definitely not an easy ride for Kieran and Jessica and we are put through a rollercoaster of emotions.

Another brilliant addition to this series and the perfect book for Nightshade- I highly recommend this series. You will fall in love with the characters, their world and the darkness!

The girl was poison. My personal nightshade

Another powerful and well-written story by Molly McAdams who seems to revel in her role as a pen-wielding sadist by unleashing such painfully poignant books.

The Redemption series books really do build with a slow burn. The story, whilst intriguing, appears to simmer until it literally explodes in front of your eyes. At times, I questioned whether the story was building too slowly to maintain my interest but then I remembered that the same thing had happened in Books 1 & 2 and their conclusions made the waiting all the more worthwhile. This is exactly what happened with Nightshade. The story meanders in a way which creates more questions than answers and whilst it appears confusing at times, all of your answers and more are explained in perfect detail by the end of the book.

This story was perhaps even more painful than its predecessors and even made me cry! I loved Kieran’s character before, and the way he was portrayed as a cold and callous killer, but we get to see an altogether different side of him in Nightshade as he meets a girl who tames his inner darkness.

He looked like a lethal contradiction. So calm. So savagely animalistic. Eyes wild. Yet lifeless. He was terrifying. And he was beautiful.

Jessica has her own fair share of demons but it is clear from the outset that she has unrivalled determination when it comes to protecting her loved ones. From her first interaction with Kieran/Nightshade, Jessica sees that they are both trying to contain their demons, but for very different reasons. Jessica is trying to keep drug dealers at bay to protect her mother and Kieran is part of the syndicate responsible for providing her with the drugs. With Jessica’s only option to meet the spiralling debts from her mother’s addiction by selling her body, she finds herself not only on Beck’s radar but also Kieran’s. What you don’t realise until later into the book is the level of debt that Jessica is in and to whom. With men threatening her from all directions, it’s no surprise that Jessica is a little crazy and untrusting.

Happiness wasn’t meant for girls like me.

I loved the relationship that forms between Jessica and Kieran. With neither able to trust the other but their bodies ruling their minds, they seek solace in each other's arms but is Kieran ready to move on after Lily and can Jessica escape the men determined to break her?

This is definitely a book to savour and to read at leisure. Please don’t try to squeeze it in between other books or read it in snippets. In order to experience the full effect of this story, it is worth taking the time to allow the book to consume and break you before putting you back together.

** ARC provided by the author for an honest review **

New York Times bestselling author Molly McAdams brings her dark suspense series to a close with Nightshade, the final installment of the Redemption series.

Kieran is the mob’s assassin, trained from a young age to be a monster. They own him. After seemingly losing everything, Kieran has hardened his heart to all emotion, especially love. Then Jessica swoops in like a tornado and flips his life off its axis. With her, his feelings are like a spreading wildfire and it is bound to consume them both.

We first met Kieran in Firefly and I fell for him immediately. Yeah ok, he was a bit of a jerk, but I love the tough bad boys, the ones that believe they do not need anyone or they are trying to protect themselves or someone else from hurt. When those men fall they fall hard and not without a fight. Kieran was a fighter, and it made for such a wonderful surrender when he finally gave in. He had to lose what he thought he wanted to find what he needed, Jessica. This girl is a force of nature all her own, but somehow manages to fit perfectly with Kieran. They help each other overcome the darkness that has taken them over.

This has been an excellent series to read. Anyone that has not read Molly should pick it up immediately. All the books are standalones, but in my opinion, you should read them in order because characters appear in other books, and because they are great books to read. Sometimes the genre of romantic suspense can get a little predictable. That was not the case with Nightshade or the other books in this series. They were original and truly well written. They gave a softer side to the bad boy mobsters than we as readers as used to, making them more human and more relatable, while maintaining the dark sinister feel of the mobster persona. Five stars yet again!!

When I finished Firefly, I was so torn. I hated what Kieran represented but longed for his chance at peace. It may not be peace as much as a piece...(ignore the tasteless but snarky joke) of everything.

Kieran, affectionately known as Nightshade, but only by those freaking terrified of the assassin and perhaps one young woman. Nightshade was a beast and a devil in Firefly but he has his own demons and doesn't need you pinning others to him. His complicated history and f*©ked up past should show you just how far gone he...was.

Nightshade has met a complicated person. She is more than he knows what to do with and he still doesn't want her around. Not that he has a choice. Things were set in motion before Nightshade and before Firefly. Now they come to a head and it's going to be everything you feared.

FYI, people die. More people should have died slower more painful deaths. I would fully support the author bringing them back to die again- this time slower and with a whole lot more screams. And if we are bringing people back...

The Redemption Series is just so amazing! Molly McAdams brings us a thrilling, nail-biting series that had me on the edge of my seats and finally we get he final book Nightshade! Each book can be read as a standalone but each book ties to the others so I would highly recommend reading each book. Nevermind they are amazing!! Why wouldn't you read them?? This book in told in alternating points of views and can be read as a standalone.

Kieran has been the trained assassin for his entire life. He's been trained to protect and kill. When the one thing he's cherished the most moves on, he left to his own vices. He's the best at what he does. He can get in and out of any situation without being detected. He can blend with the night and be a ghost until its too late.

Jessica has been taking care of her mom since a young age. Having a drug addict for a mother she was the responsible one doing what she could to bring in money. The downfall was she did do anything. She found herself being in debt to the wrong people but keeping her mother safe was the priority.

When Kieran and Jessica's path cross it was like the other had finally met their match. Neither wanting or needing the other but in someway they did. This book was so intriguing and suspenseful! I would highly recommend it along with all of Molly McAdams novels! You cannot go wrong with anything she writes!! She is one of my favorites!! I'll leave you with sine of my favorite quotes:

She was beauty and strength. She was seduction and sin. She was destruction and chaos. She was peace. And she was my home. - Kieran

The girl was poison. My personal nightshade. - Kieran

Oh Molly McAdams, the things you do to me! This story left me such a twisted up ball of complex emotions! I mean, it is Kieran's story after all. Jessica is perhaps my most favorite heroine from this author. I loved her bold brand of crazy to mask the raw and vulnerable woman underneath. After reading the first two books in this series, reading this one was essential. Rarely before has an ending left me simultaneously fulfilled, yet desperately heartbroken and yearning for more. WHO ORDERED THE UGLY CRY?! Not me!
Call me crazy, but I'm now desperate to find out what kind of torture she is going to inflict on me with Lyric, even though the hero I so desperately hoped would be featured in that story won't be making an appearance. Molly, I'm not speaking to you right now. But don't worry, I'll get over it. ;)

Nightshade is AMAZING! This was one of my most-anticipated reads and it did NOT disappoint. After reading Firefly, I couldn't wait for Kieran to get his happily ever after. He is sexy and lethal perfection. His chemistry with Jess is incredible. I love the way they tame each other's beasts and soothe each other's souls.
I love a heroine who isn't afraid to get bloody. Jess is heroine gold- as damaged as they come, but still strong as hell. She was truly made for Kieran and he was made for her.
Nightshade is the perfect conclusion to the Redemption series. I loved every word. Highly, highly recommend this series.

Kieran and Jessica, Nightshade and Chaos are just epic characters I LOVED them so much, Intense is too tame a word to describe their story.

Don’t get me wrong Kieran and Lily together were ok but Jessica makes much more sense as his partner. I’m not sure I could adequately describe Jessica to you because what we see on the outside is not who she really is. Why she does certain things why she puts on the facade we see, her backstory will break your heart.

Kieran is trying to move on from Lily but it’s hard to let go when his whole life has had one purpose. To see him coming to the realisation that his past was not meant to be was poignant and exciting.

There is a day of reckoning coming for everyone in this series. The way Molly has written this story the twists and turns and hidden clues she drops into the mix are genius.

3.5 The darkness was a bit much, but I get it. The story was okay. It feels like it took forever to wrap up. I only continued it (I was a little bored with it) because I wanted the whole spectrum from this to the next series. I get why Connor has a book and I approve. I do wish I had read this series first, because I think the next one is better and it may have made a difference in how I viewed this series. It's not bad, just not the best and not my favorite. Also, I found so much if Jessica's choices IRRITATING as all get out.

What I can I say about Molly that I haven't already said. She is pure genius. I love how she brought these two people that were the same and different at the same time. When darkness met chaos he done for. This story was so beautifully written. It had me wanting more. I felt both for Kieran and Jessica at times. I loved how she brought everything full circle. This book was so good it had me crying.

Who knew the assassin could fall in love?? Jessica and Kieran were made for each other. They both had this darkness, demons within and the only control was each other. This story was beautifully written from beginning to end. It had me in tears on more than one occasion. Molly made me fall in with Kieran and was glad to know more of his story. Thank you Molly for once again for loving this amazing story.

Such a bittersweet ending to this trilogy. Even though this is my least favorite storyline of the 3 it was still good. What tangled webs of lies. I highly recommend this series especially on audio!

Parts of this book I want to rate a 5 and others I want to rate a 3. I enjoyed how these two broken ppl could come together and become mended by their love. I thought some of the love scenes were a bit much and skipped/skimmed. I was glad for Kieran tho. He needed a book and a story. Plus I loved seeing things from his view, yet still being extremely happy that Lily needed but up with Dare.

With the release of Nightshade, book 3 in her Redemption series, Molly McAdams has done yet another amazing job of bringing us into this intriguing world of romantic suspense. Kieran and Jessica's story is complicated, intriguing, emotional and will grip you from the beginning. Being picky when it comes to reading romantic suspense, I can honestly say that Nightshade ranks up there with my very favorite romantic suspense books. I recommend it as well as Blackbird and Firefly, books 1 & 2 in the series.
