A Lynchburg community group is gearing up for a coat drive this weekend.

One Community, One Voice is distributing coats to the needy at Miller Park.

The group was trying to collect 400 coats this year, but they now have around 2,600 new or gently used coats. “We call it share the warmth. And I see the community of Lynchburg is warm. It’s a warm feeling to know that they are all willing to give to each other, the less fortunate and to bless others,” said James Camm, the pastor of Living Word church.

Coats will be available for children and adults.

The event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Miller Center at 301 Grove St. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
