TRN Top 10 poll (Sept. 23)

Zach Duncan
Wichita

The TRN’s Top 10 poll is put together by Zach Duncan and indicative on a team’s performance relative to its classification.

Bowie's Rylan Dorman (17) is tripped up by Holliday's Tanner Bayard (55) and Tristan Boyd (24) in first-half action Friday.

1. Graham (4-0) – Interception returns for touchdowns by Will Hays and Seth Hamm equal Steers’ turnover total in first three games. Unbeaten Stephenville comes to Newton Field next.

2. Holliday (4-0) – Tanner Bayard’s defensive stats of 17 tackles, four sacks and a blocked punt in shutout of Bowie might seem unbelievable unless you were there.

3. Tipton (4-1) – Tigers, who earned second straight shutout, captured No. 1 spot in Oklahoma AP poll last week even though Pond Creek-Hunter had more first-place votes.

4. Hirschi (3-1) – Huskies have now forced 13 turnovers and have three shutouts going into another heavily favored matchup against winless Breckenridge.

5. Henrietta (4-0) – Wins matter more than any stat, but worth noting Bearcats have given up 75 points to Bowie/Boyd combo and Holliday has allowed only seven to same foes.

6. Crowell (4-0) – Wildcats pick up third straight mercy-rule win, but a trip to No. 2 Happy awaits. Cowboys have won the last two meetings by 46 and 15-point margins.

7. Seymour (4-0) – Panthers have allowed only 27 points in 2017. Through four games last season, Seymour had surrendered 78.

8. Nocona (4-0) – Indians’ 239 points in four games is only four fewer than Indians program produced in 2014-15 seasons combined.

9. Jacksboro (3-0) – Tigers lead area by averaging 347.7 yards per game. Seven different rushers are averaging at least six yards per carry heading into Bowie matchup.

10. Munday (2-2) – Moguls look like heavy favorite in 7-2A Division II and have allowed only 26 points in the past three games, including six to Windthorst.

Dropping out: Bryson.
