HMD Global might launch 4G-enabled Nokia feature phones in India soon

JioPhone, Reliance Jio’s first 4G VoLTE feature phone that is all over the news since the day RIL’s Mukesh Ambani made it official, and now Airtel is also on the verge of launching a budget VoLTE smartphone. On observing the growing demand for 4G enabled feature phones, HMD global which has complete authority to use Nokia brand name is looking forward to launch Nokia feature phones with 4G support.

Talking to Economic Times  about the same Ajey Mehta, India VP for HMD Global said “JioPhone is going to have an impact on the segment, and there is no question about it. We are watching how this materializes. If we see a viable business proposition, we will consider it and participate.”

Nokia feature phones were one of the best sellers in India back in the day, and it currently has the 3310-feature phone in India, and it event introduced the 3310 3G recently. So it is an excellent opportunity for HMD Global to make an impression. The company isn’t backing out from grabbing any chance to be that is presented, commenting on the same Mehta further adds that “if there is a business opportunity, we are open to exploring it.”

HMD Global seems to have every intention of launching 4G powered feature phone in the days to come, and we hope it does.
