People on the streets of Dublin are asked to give their definition of pornography.

On 20 September 1972 'Pornography: the Longford Report' was published in Britain. In the the light of Lord Longford’s findings, 'Encounter' asked people on the streets of Dublin what is pornography?
Their answers range from not knowing, to,

Pictures of people in the nude isn’t it?

One young man says some things that would have been considered pornographic years ago are no longer classed as being pornographic, while a street trader thinks there needs to be more censorship in Ireland.

Another woman thinks pornography is something Irish people will have to accept since they voted to join the European Economic Community.

We’ll have to know all those these things if we’re getting into Europe.

This episode of 'Encounter' was broadcast on 24 September 1972.
