Save Taj Mahal and Yamuna from destruction
Save Taj Mahal and Yamuna from destruction
Why this petition matters
Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and Yamuna is one of the holiest rivers of India which supports and sustains life across 1300+ kilometers of it's length from Delhi via Mathur and Agra to Prayagraj.
Yet today, both of them are on the verge of annihilation.
The famed white marble of Taj Mahal’s is turning into shades of yellow and green mainly due to air pollution and contact with insects that thrive in garbage-filled Yamuna, right behind it.
After decades of neglect, we've now come to a stage now where Yamuna and Taj will die unless immediate steps are taken.
We petition the concerned authorities (Government of India, Government of Uttar Pradesh, ASI, UNESCO and local administration) to take cleaning up of Yamuna as an urgent need and implement a solution.
We also commit all our support to help make all efforts in this direction successful - be it through awareness campaigns through social media or on-ground activities of working with the local communities as also actual cleaning of the river.
Our own also survival depends on the river and if we don't take any action now, it might be too late.
Thank you for being part of the solution!
