Help us build an international movement of youth and adults who refuse to be a target of the soda marketing machine and who drink water as an act of defiance against Big Soda peddling unhealthy products. The videos will be used to advertise the 2nd Annual International Quit Soda Day on October 20, 2018. We will also use selected videos in the the finale of our upcoming movie, El Susto, about sugary drinks and diabetes.

Submit a video of you, your friends, your family, or a group taking THE I QUIT SODA PLEDGE and inspire others around the world. OR, get creative and tell us why you refuse to be a target of their sophisticated marketing techniques which trick you into drinking unhealthy products. Show us the ever present ads that surround you everyday and often make healthier choices less convenient.

Here's how to get involved:

1) Download the I QUIT SODA PLEDGE. from our website.

Read all or part of it, whatever you are comfortable with. If you want to do it in your own language, please feel free.....and please share your translation with us.

2) Film yourself, your friends, your family, or a group taking the pledge. The more the merrier. There's no limit to the number you can submit.

3) Release. Be sure to have everyone you film fill out a personal release form. If you or your subjects are under 18, be sure to get a parent or guardian to sign as well. There are blank forms on our website.

Take a picture of the signed release and send it to us at elsustomovie@gmail.com

4) For those who dare to be different, feel free to make your own video showing how you refuse to be a target of Big Soda marketing. You can show us what kind of soda marketing surrounds you in your community - it's everywhere and all the time - sports venues, airports, even schools! Show us that you and your generation demand an ad free, healthy environment.

5) Help us go viral. Can you come up with a visual act involving quitting soda that we can use to go viral? Go ahead, let's try and get something going similar to the ice bucket challenge. Be sure to use something appropriate across all language and cultures so we can keep it going worldwide. If you can't come up with something original, clink water bottles with a friend (no plastic water bottles, please) in a toast to your good health and give the traditional toast "Salud" which means to your health, in Spanish.

In addition to using the videos to spread the word about International Quit Soda Day, some of the short films will be edited into the finale of a feature length film on sugary drinks and diabetes. If your video is selected, your name will appear in the credits plus you will get a copy of the DVD when the film is finished.

Videos must be submitted digitally on FilmFreeway.

Filmmakers must agree to release all rights for use the film to Enjoy Diabetes LLC.

Releases must be obtained from each person appearing in the video. If under 18, a parent or guardian must also sign the release form.

All submissions must be received by September 20, 2018.
