More than 10,000 homes were in the dark for part of Sunday after strong thunderstorms rocked part of New Jersey on a sweltering day.

Morris, Sussex and parts of Warren county were under a flood advisory Sunday night, as heavy rain moved over parts of the state. Up to an inch of rain was reported in some spots.

The National Weather Service’s hazardous weather outlook for New Jersey for the rest of the week calls for “heavy rain leading to localized flooding” Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Power outages Sunday were mostly in Hunterdon and Somerset counties
