Hero police dog tracks down missing children who vanished in Fife

A HERO police dog was able to track down two schoolboys who went missing in Fife.

Specialist units were drafted into the search after the youngsters disappeared in the Cardenden area last night.

Cop dogs assisted in the efforts to trace the nine and 11-year-old after the alarm was raised.

And they were able to trace the lads during the search.

Police said that the boys were found safe and well.

Police Scotland Dogs took to Twitter this afternoon to praise the efforts of their officers.

A spokesperson said: "During the night shift a 9 and 11 year old boy were reported missing in the Cardenden area.

"#PDOz was called in to assist officers in locating them.

"After an hour long search PD Oz traced the youngsters safe and well".
