The Southlake Mobility Team is Paving the Way, More Improvements to SH 114 Are Coming!

City Council renewed a professional consultant agreement with Jerry Hodge and Associates for project management services for the SH 114 Improvements Project at the October 2 City Council meeting.

The SH 114 project has been an ongoing partnership with the City of Southlake and TxDOT for over a decade.  It initially started with the highway expansion but plans did not include frontage roads between Dove Road and Kirkwood Boulevard.  Since the expansion project has started, the DFW Connector and the Solona Kirkwood Intersection improvements have been completed.

To date, the City is working to improve mobility at the Dove Road and Kirkwood Boulevard.  Currently, SH 114 ends at Dove Road and then starts again in Trophy Club.  The City will fix this issue so that commuters can travel from Grapevine to Trophy Club by connecting SH 114 to Kirkwood Boulevard.

As traffic continues to increase in Southlake, our commitment is to continue to address capacity issues; making mobility more efficient within city limits.

The SH 114 improvements will include the construction of the westbound frontage road lanes, reversal of and construction of new ramps and u-turn lanes at the intersection.

This project is apart of the Mobility Master Plan, which is aimed at providing a safe and efficient network to improve mobility in Southlake. It is scheduled to start  FY2020.
