Attalla mobile home fire under investigation
An investigation is ongoing after the Attalla Fire Department responded to a fire at a vacant mobile home on Sunday. Firefighters responded to a call at 12:49 p.m. from a location on Gantt Avenue.
Attalla Fire Chief Robert Dillard said the fire was fully involved when firefighters arrived on the scene, but was able to be put out in 15 to 20 minutes.
The mobile home was one of a few remaining on site at the former Candlelight Mobile Home Park, and Dillard said the owner was working to remove the homes to further develop the land.
No one was in the home when the fire began, and the fire chief said it had been vacant for more than 30 days.
Dillard said the blaze is being investigated by Attalla Assistant Fire Chief and Fire Marshal Chris Correll and the Attalla Police Department.
