You know what I like about Carly? A lot! When she writes sexy she brings it and I’m changing panties every chapter. When she writes passion she makes me swoon like a lunatic. When she writes family and friendship she makes my heart sing a fine tuned melody and when she writes entertainment, I’m in a happy place like no other. When she writes, she brings it all full force. Every.single.time.

5 star review Twice As Sexy (The Sexy Series #2) by Carly Phillips
The second book in the series and just as entertaining as the first book. I love Carly Phillips style of writing, there is something about her stories, that draw me in and keep me enthralled from the first to the last chapter.
This is Tanner Grayson, part owner in nightclub ClubTen29 and Assistant District Attorney Scarlett Davis story. I have to say that Tanner is totally swoon worthy and ticks the boxes for me.
Tanner has had a hard life and continues to fight the demons of his past. Spotting Scarlett drinking shots in his bar, Tanner is attracted to her immediately, after all a one night stand can’t be too complicated can it? Can two people who are total opposites really work?
When a case Scarlett is working on brings her face to face with Tanner’s past, will she run from the bad boy or will she embrace him totally?
The chemistry between Tanner and Scarlett is scorching and you could almost feel the flames burn you as you read. Twice As Sexy is a highly entertaining story and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
I loved the camaraderie and friendship with the other club owners, his best friends, Jason and Landon which added an extra layer to the story that Ms. Phillips wove.

Three men bound by a horrific college incident that has left each of them a bit battered and bruised, but doing their best to live their lives and be successful. Twice as Sexy is an opposites attract story where one night turns into more and secrets threaten to unravel a tenuous relationship.
Tanner Grayson has done everything to keep a promise to his business partners and the people who helped him clear his name from a stupid mistake me made when he was spiraling out of control. Therapy, lots of physical exercise, and his best friends have kept his temper in check.
Scarlett Davis swore when her brother was killed and his murderers went free on a technicality that she would get her law degree and fight the good fight and she has, but her caseload is high and her time off is nonexistent, so when her friend suggests a night out to celebrate her 30th birthday she goes along with it and when she sees Tanner from across the room, she knows he’s going to be the present she gives herself.
First off, I loved the instant attraction between Tanner and Scarlett and it was easy to feel from the moment they laid eyes on one another. I like that Tanner brought out the wild side in Scarlett and Scarlett gave Tanner a soft spot to land. They complimented each other in ways they didn’t even realize. I enjoyed seeing Tanner have to work for Scarlett’s attention; I think it was good for him to put someone else first in his life. Ms. Phillips did a wonderful job showing the chemistry between these two, showing us their backgrounds and what made them into the people they are today, but for me the emotional connection felt rushed and a bit forced. That’s not to say I didn’t thoroughly enjoy this book, but I just would have like to have more time with them really growing their emotional connection.

I need my own Tanner.
That’s really what I’m taking away from this book. I need a guy like Tanner in my life, even if he is only a BFF because…*swoon*
Ok. Let’s rewind a bit before I go on a huge verbal vomity dissertation of the man (which I am not going to do after this) I have to say, I devoured this book. In and of itself, it is a quick read, but it was one I got lost in from the very start and refused to put it down until there were no more words to read.
Now.Tanner. This man is all kinds of Book Boyfriend Goodness. I could go on and on and on, but you just need to experience all that makes him amazing. And then there is Scarlett. She was amazing too. She’s hard working, sassy and has a compassionate soul.
Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. From the moment they collided, it was clear they could be way more than a one and done hook up. I loved their bantering and I loved how they actually adulted. There were bumps in their road, but nothing went into angsty OTT mode, which I was totally into, and I absolutely LOVED how everything turned out for them.
This book was simply fun. There is drama and issues that come up that could be triggers for some, but it was all handled really well and were necessary when it came to the character building of the MC’s. But I loved catching up with Faith and Jason, hanging out with all the family members that came out to play and cannot wait for Landon’s book!

This is the second book in the Sexy series, in which we get Tanner and Scarlett's story. Tanner and Scarlett are absolute opposites and that old saying "Opposites Attract", yeah totally these two. Tanner is the tall, dark, handsome bad boy club owner who locks eyes with the smart, classy, sexy ADA Scarlett and knows he has to have her. These two paths should have never crossed but now that they have there's no going back because they were meant to be. But what happens when Tanner's past threatens to destroy the new relationship he's building with Scarlett? What happens when Tanner realizes nothing will ever be as good as the feelings he has for Scarlett? I really enjoyed Tanner and Scarlett. I loved the idea of his past and her present maybe meaning that they were not able to work out.
And, I relate to her, so completely. The idea of wondering if you can split your focus and attention and still be good at everything, deciding you can't, and then deciding what you have to give up. I related to her, while really wanting to see them together.
I also loved how real they felt, like they were really people you could meet and talk to . There's a consistency about stories by Carly Phillips. I always know I am going to enjoy them, and I am going to be able to relate to the characters.
I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Tanner and Scarlett have an insta-connection from the moment their eyes meet across the crowded club Tanner co-owns. Scarlett doesn’t normally have much of a social-life but decides Tanner is going to be her personal birthday present 🎁
Both Tanner and Scarlett have a lot of emotional baggage which has them both convinced they are not relationship material. However, Tanner is self-aware enough to realise the connection they share is special and should be explored further.
I loved the way in which Tanner gave himself over to his emotions and gradually chipped away at Scarlett’s barriers to show her how perfect they are and could be together.
When the past catches up to the present, Tanner has to prove he has matured in the way in which he is able to handle situations. Unfortunately, this also exposes parts of his past he would prefer left hidden especially where Scarlett is concerned.
Both Scarlett and Tanner have experienced traumatic events in their lives and it is these events which have shaped them into the people they have become and the career paths they have taken. Intriguingly the events put them on opposing sides and are a pivotal point to their relationship.
I loved the support system around Tanner along with how easily Scarlett is accepted into their inner circle.
Twice as Sexy is a fast-paced both in action and in terms of the relationship between Tanner and Scarlett. While the relationship angst is fairly low, there is a lot of drama within the plot adding suspense to the narrative.

5 Opening Up a World of Emotions Stars!!
Ahhhhh my heart is full of love and warmth thanks to Scarlett and Tanner! This is book two in Ms. Phillips Sexy series and it’s full of love, romance, suspense and all the emotions in between!
Scarlett is a woman that works way too much and Tanner is a man that doesn’t believe in love and throws all his energy into running Club Ten29 with his two partners….until he sees Scarlett one night at the club and it all changes on a dime… for both of them!
I loved every single page of this book! Tanner has this brusque manner about him and Scarlett wasn’t looking for anything other than letting go for one night, which just happens to be her birthday so she celebrates it right by taking what she wants from this man that makes her tingle inside and out…
The suspense that Ms. Phillips built into this story just made it that much better because it kept me on my toes. Especially when the guys come up with a plan on how to deal with it! What I especially loved about this book though is how Scarlett helped Tanner realize he’s capable of love and that with the right person in your life and taking the risk is totally worth it….for both of them!!!

Woah. Once again Carly Phillips has delivered another emotional rollercoaster plot that had me complete spellbound from page one, all the way through till the last page of the book.
In Twice as Sexy, we have Tanner, tall, dark, devilishly hot, a bad boy with a complicated history and an even more complicated present. He is an aggressively angry guy and has multiple layers of that angry that stem from his past. The hell he and his sister had to endure growing up because of his father, broke my heart, and the fact that mother just let it happen... He struggles daily to keep the demons from his past from popping up and tries to maintain his control as much as possible. Some days harder than others.
Scarlett is an A.D.A and for the most part, lives her life uneventfully. She never lets loose and lets her hair down, and never goes out to meet new people or men for that matter. But that all changes when he pushes herself out of her comfort zone on her birthday and goes out to a club. She has finally permitted herself to have a good time...
The moment Tanner from across the room, he knew he needed her, needed to know her. Something is drawing him to her, but she has other ideas and is only looking for a one night stand, a night to remember for her birthday.
Will Tanner get more than one night with this beautiful woman? Or will she disregarded him the next morning? Will the fact that they are complete opposites be a deal-breaker? Read the book and you will find out!
As the story unfolds, the more I had to read. I couldn't put it down. I love Ms. Phillips books and this book here is a prime example of why. It held heat, drama, angst, emotion and even a little comedy in there.

If you like big city romance with a somewhat damaged hero and a strong, brilliant heroine who helps him find redemption, then this book should be right up your alley. Oh, and we can’t forget steam, because this writer always delivers that. But the complexity of the characters, their relationship and personal growth are the main focus here, so prepare your heart to be taken on an intensely emotional ride.
Tanner is partners in a nightclub venture with two friends from college, Landon Bennett and Jason Dare (yes, that Dare family). Club Ten29 is named to honor Landon's twin who died in a hazing incident on that date. Tanner already has an anger issue that would have landed him behind bars without a little intervention, but when the man responsible for Levi's death shows up, Landon and Jason have their hands full trying to keep Tanner from doing something they'll all regret.

This is a free book on Kobo. I gave it 3.5 rounding it to 3. It was OK, but not a book I’d read again. Tanner is our hero. He runs a successful bar with a couple of his friends. He has an anger control issue and though he’s been though therapy and is much better for the most part, he did have trouble when he was younger.
Things change when an old enemy comes back to cause trouble for Tanner and threaten Scarlett, his lady love. Tanner convinces her to stay with him to help keep her safe and she agrees. I’m sure you can guess what happens and then we cue “the end”.
As I said, it’s OK. Tanner and Scarlet are likeable enough. But I’m not into insta lust/insta love stories. I much prefer some kind of deeper knowing of each other. I’d say if you want to try this author, try a free book or one on sale. I’m sure there are many who like her more than I did – though I did like it. I just didn’t love it.

If you are looking for a damaged but wonderfully written hero, this is your story. Twice as Sexy is a story about a strong-willed female character that you love to read about. Twice as Sexy is an enjoyable read.

I am loving this series. Tanner is such a complicated man, and has gone through so much in his young life. I can’t believe how his father treated him and his sister growing up. I was even madder that their mother didn’t do anything to help them. Then after Victor got Landon’s twin Levi killed in college, poor Tanner had so much rage in him. I was so glad that his two partners had his back, and had made him get counseling so he is better able to handle his anger. It was so romantic how Tanner and Scarlett looked at each other and knew there was something between them. Scarlett sure had a wonderful 30th birthday! It was ironic how her job was the last thing Tanner ever expected he would be attracted to would have. Scarlett has had her share of family problems. I think some of that was another thing that bonded the two together. There is someone trying to make trouble for the three partners that I didn’t want to put the book down so I knew what was going to happen next. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

What a fantastic book, I went through so many emotions. Loved the instant attraction between Tanner Grayson and Scarlett Davis. They are so hot, but it’s supposed to be for just one night. Loved how it’s “ love at first sight” for Tanner. He’s in for a shock, she’s actually an A.D.A., can she understand his past? When there’s a situation, can he keep her safe? What will happen? Loved the suspense. Can he let her go? I absolutely loved their happy ever after. I can’t wait for the next book, its Landon’s story. This is such a great series. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Sexy Hers is the second book in the Sexy Series by Carly Phillips. Each book can be read as a standalone though characters from past books make an appearance.
Tanner and Scarlett couldn’t be more opposite if they tried but there is a connection between them that just can’t be ignored. Tanner has a past that may affect the way that Scarlett sees him in her life.
Sexy Hers is full of chemistry, sexiness, and passion between two people who you would never think of together. The twists and turns of this story along with the undeniable chemistry of Tanner and Scarlett make this a book you will not want to put down!

Talk about another fun and entertaining story from Ten29 gang. Tanner and Scarlet were fun to get to know. She has strong work ethic and doesn't have time to let loose. But the second their eyes made contact they both knew their lives would never be the same. I loved the Insta connection and don't even get me started on the chemistry.
Carly Phillips has started 2020 with a bang and I love it.

I expected a well written romance story, and that's exactly what Carly Phillips gave me. Sexy Hers is an extremely captivating and sexy read that you won't want to put down. This fast-paced steamy book has instantaneous attraction, suspense, off-the-charts chemistry, secrets, danger, questions that keep piling up as the story unfolds, great banter, hot scenes, so many emotions, and of course, a happily ever after.

I love how Carly spins a story! She uses characters from pass books, new ones and her main characters. I love Tanner and Scarlett’s characters and their pass relationships that have made them who they are today. Can’t wait for Landon’s story!

I absolutely love opposites attract romances and this one was even better because their sparks fly from the very beginning. The attraction between Tanner and Scarlett is so intense and undeniable, they don't even try to fight it when the first meet. The heat they generate just reads write off the pages and leaves you wanting more. But of course, these two have real issues to overcome. I love how they both have real insecurities about their relationship. Tanner doubts he can really be worthy of Scarlett because of his bad boy past and is also afraid to tell her the details of his past because it goes against everything she believes in. Scarlett doesn't know if she can balance a relationship with her high-pressure career as a district attorney and the time she devotes as a caregiver to her parent. On top of all that, Tanner's nightclub has been targeted by a mysterious figure from his past and becomes more and more dangerous, pushing Tanner to handle it the only way he knows how. Neither was looking for a relationship and neither know if they have what it takes to make it work.
What I love about this book, is that it doesn't try to solve all their issues before the end of the story. Scarlett's family drama is discussed, but is dealt with realistically and not necessarily resolved in the happiest way. Scarlett and Tanner are pushed to their emotional brinks in this story. Tanner is a complicated hero that doesn't make all the right moves and Scarlett has her own concerns about relationships. These are imperfect characters that don't want to end what they started, but have no idea how it's all going to play out. Reading this book was like going on the journey with them. I loved both of these characters. Scarlett was smart, independent and accomplished. Tanner was successful, focused and headstrong. It was great seeing these two interact and become vulnerable with each other, while trying to battle all the issues in their lives together. I love this series. If you haven't read Book 1, do so now. You won't be disappointed. I am so looking forward to Book 3.

Carly Phillips’s newest book, Twice as Sexy might be the hottest yet!!! Scarlett and Tanner are a hot couple and the story is wonderful! I really enjoyed this novel.
Assistant District Attorney Scarlett Davis is all about her work. She is dedicated to her job because of what happened with her brother. There is no time for a man. What small energy she has left over is for her mother’s medical issues.
Tanner Grayson owns “the” nightclub with his two best friends. He has learned to master his temper, but he doesn’t always think people believe he can handle himself. He is living the life with lots of women and the club, until he sees Scarlett!
Neither can forget the other after their one night stand. Neither think they are ready and can have a long term relationship, but this might be a new start. Add in a bad guy from Tanner’s past and Scarlett being in danger and this novel is combustible. Twice as Sexy by Carly Phillips is a hot, fun read!

Carly also has an uncanny way to bring emotions forefront and she did no less with Twice as Sexy. She pulls on our heartstrings and we as the reader are never left the same.
We all have our internal demons. We all have to delve through drama to sometimes find the right path. Scarlett and Tanner fight those demons daily, but somehow they work through them and find each other. Isn’t that what we all want in the end, to find that person that will love us through the pain and drama?
Scarlett is an assistant DA looking for answers and Tanner is a man with anger issues. Mix those two attributes together, add in the supporting cast of characters and what you have a recipe for is an amazing story with amazing characters.

A sweet steamy suspense romance read, oh yeah this is my favorite.
Love everything, from complicated story to amazing characters, it's pretty packed with a lot of great things for a short fast-paced read, it's just left me wanting more and more. My Favorite part is Scarlett and Tanner, love their chemistry and their dilemmas, he's what she's fought against and she's what he's stay away from because of his past and because he feels he doesn't deserve her, yup like I said, it's complicated but it's oh so good, therefore I love it.
If you're looking for a fast-paced sweet steamy suspense, this the book for you.

This was another entertaining book in the series. Angela Dawe once again was great as narrator bringing Twice as Sexy to life. A little mystery, a little angst and a whole lot of sexiness is what this story had. Ms. Phillips knows how to write a superb romance that will keep you entertained from beginning to end.
