1. Students will bring all necessary equipment to lessons and will maintain their instrument in good playing condition.
2. Students are required to provide their own instrument, however some instruments may be available for loan from the College. Please contact ebony.hilton@glasshouse.qld.eu.au regarding availability and for recommended music stores for buying or hiring instruments.
3. Students will practise at least 20 minutes per day/5 days per week.
4. Students will be encouraged to join College bands and ensembles on reaching an appropriate standard.
5. On acceptance into one of the College bands/ensembles, students will be expected to attend minimum 80% of all rehearsals in order to be included in performances.
6. Students/parents must always notify the tutor no later than 7:30am on the day of their lesson any unplanned/planned absences (eg. excursions, exams, illness) so an alternative lesson time can be arranged. No credits or catch up lessons will be given for lessons missed without prior notification.
7. Tutors will invoice parents direct each term for lessons and fees are due within two (2) weeks. Lessons will cease after this time until payment has been made. No refund will be given on fees if student withdraws from the program during term.
8. Parents/Caregivers to notify the College or tutor, in writing, if not continuing in the program the following term. This must be received prior to the end of the current term to avoid term fees being charged.
9. Paired or Group lesson option is only available if there is another student/s with a similar ability. Group lessons are only available for primary students and no more than 3 in a group in Year 6 at the conclusion of the Year 5 Immersion Program and Year 4 at the conclusion of the Year 3 Smart Strings Program.
10. The only preference for piano and percussion lessons are individual.
