Police believe missing Aberdeenshire man David Strachan who vanished four days ago may be in Dundee

POLICE believe a missing Aberdeenshire man who vanished four days ago may be in Dundee.

David Strachan, 51, vanished from Wilson Road in Banchory at around 9pm on Tuesday prompting a frantic search.

He has not been seen or heard from since and loved ones are growing concerned.

But Tayside cops have now said it is possible he may be in Dundee.

They wrote: "David is possible in Dundee and we would appeal for anyone who may have any information on his whereabouts to get in touch with Police."

David is described as being 5ft10in, with short, fair hair and when last seen was wearing black jeans, a blue fleece, a black v-neck jumper and a red shirt.

Officers have appealed to the public for assistance.

Sergeant Graeme Forbes, Huntly Police Station said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen David, or maybe knows where he is, to get in touch. His family are concerned for him.

“We would also ask that David call us or his family to let everyone know he is ok.”

On Wednesday, we told how a body was found in the search for a missing Oban man.

Alex Carter, 49, disappeared without a trace on Tuesday morning.

Cops launched a frantic hunt to find him, but they later a body had been found in their search.

And a Scots hillwalker who vanished in freezing conditions has now been missing for six days.

Paul Murphy, 51, was last seen leaving his home in Stenhousemuir, Falkirk, at around 7am on Sunday, as he set off to go hillwalking.

He has not been seen or heard from since, and concerns are growing for his safety amid freezing temperatures.
