Welcome to Coastal Callouts!

Welcome to Coastal Callouts, the biggest LSPDFR mod ever created. More than just a callout pack, this mod features a massive DLC with new boats, helicopters, planes, buildings, peds, maps, and other game changes; includes new features like a throwable life preserver ring, working helicopter hoist, and cargo planes which can transport and air-drop equipment; over a dozen new callouts with nearly infinite possible variations; an AI copilot to fly your helicopter while you jump out the door into raging seas; and much much more. After nearly 3 years of development, the mod is finally available to everyone to play.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • The DLC/LML Package is required to use Coastal Callouts. Install Lenny's Mod Loader first, then you can download and install the Coastal Callouts LML Package using the Mod Manager.
  • You will need to have LSPDFR 0.4.8+ installed and working
  • A functional gameconfig.xml for your current game version is required. You can download a gameconfig using LML, or find one on gta5-mods.com for the latest game version
  • There are multiple downloads on this page. You must install both the "LML Package" and the "Plugin" download to use the mod. The plugin download must be installed manually; follow the instructions in the included readme.txt file.

strongly recommend that you make sure your GTA V installation works stably with RagePluginHook, Lenny's Mod Loader, and a modified gameconfig.xml before you attempt installing any part of Coastal Callouts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • AAAAHHHHHHH????
    You're welcome
  • Do I have to pay to use this mod?
No. The publicly released version of Coastal Callouts is available for FREE to all users. There may be future updated versions which will be available to members of the Parks Benefactor Program as early access betas, but all updates will eventually be released for free to everyone.
  • Can I record YouTube videos or stream myself playing this mod?
Yes. You may record or stream any released version of the mod. You must include a link to this download page in the video description of any video focused on Coastal Callouts. If you only use a feature once incidentally during a video you may include the download link in a mods list hosted elsewhere if the mods list is linked directly in the video description. If you do use this mod in videos and enjoy it, I would encourage you to join the Parks Benefactor Program. You will get in-game recognition for being a member.
  • Does it work on FiveM?
The scripts do not work on FiveM, but most of the models do work on FiveM. There is a FiveM resource pack provided on this download page with the vehicles, buildings/map edits, and peds. A FiveM version of the helicopter hoist function is available from a developer I collaborated with, and implements the same general functionality, including the hoist hook, control interface, and hoist cam, and supports grabbed peds, rescue basket, and stokes litter on the hoist. See trailer video below. Other features may eventually be ported to FiveM as well; however, the original full-featured LSPDFR plugin only works with single player.
  • Do I have to run LSPDFR to run Coastal?
    Yes
  • How do I install it?
Download both the LML Package and the Plugins download. Follow the README.txt file instructions to install the mod. The readme is the same in both downloads.
  • Do you have a Discord server?
Yes. Members of the Parks Benefactor Program can join my Discord server, where you can watch development of future updates and new mods I am working on, chat with other community members, share community-generated content, discuss and vote on future mod features, and receive more direct support. I do not have a Discord server open to the general public.
  • Will there be versions for other countries?
Yes! Several international packs have been released, and are linked below. You can use the Coastal Callouts Modding Guide to download the full vehicle templates and other customization information for those who may want to develop their own packs. Please PM me if you are an experienced texture designer and want to create an official international pack for your own country or region.
  • What are the keybindings?
They are all defined in the Coastal Callouts INI file. The main keybinding is ] (right square bracket) to open the Coastal menu.
  • Do I have to use LML to install it?
Yes. The mod is too complex to realistically support a "manual install" method. We did this during the beta, and it was way too much work to help everyone get it installed manually. You must install the "Mod Loader" components of LML to use Coastal Callouts. Using the Mod Manager/Mod Downloader interface is optional. If you don't want to use the mod manager to download the package, you can download the LML Package manually, and then copy the contents into the "LML" folder in your main GTA V folder.
  • The Paleto station doesn't spawn when I'm not on duty or when I use the FiveM pack
The Paleto station was built using outdated techniques before newer methods for modding buildings were developed. Therefore it is not compatible with FiveM and can only be loaded by the script in singleplayer. I am planning to rebuild it in the future.
  • The fireboat doesn't shoot water on FiveM
The water cannons have been disabled on the FiveM version, because they cause the game to crash when fired. I am not aware of anything I can do to change the model to fix this, but if you figure out any workaround please let me know.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the development of this mod! It would not have been possible without you. The full credits are included in the CREDITS.txt file in each download. A few people deserve a special extra thank-you here:

  • @SkylineGTRFreak - without him, this mod would not have been possible. The true legend of GTA V vehicle modding, Skyline worked very hard to create most of the vehicle models included with this mod. Check out his profile to download his many other excellent mods.
  • @alexguirre - much of the initial inspiration for Coastal Callouts came from Alex's Wilderness Callouts. He also created RageNativeUI - a critical piece of the mod - and contributed some code used directly in Coastal, and answered many of my coding and reverse engineering questions over the years. I highly recommend using Alex's Spotlight mod with Coastal, and check out his other plugins too.
  • @LMS - we all owe LMS for developing LSPDFR itself. He deserves an extra special thank you for implementing many of my API suggestions into LSPDFR 0.4, which greatly enhanced many of the features of this mod. He was also very open to my recommendations and requests in the development of LML, which is instrumental in loading all the complex parts of this mod. Thank you LMS for making this possible! Thanks as well to @Sam and the rest of the lcpdfr.com team for their contributions to LSPDFR.
  • @Albo1125, @Darkmyre, @Stealth22, @khorio, @Fiskey111, and all the other LSPDFR plugin developers who helped inspire me, encourage me, and support me through the development process.
  • @acepilot2k7 for creating many videos showcasing the beta throughout the development process.
  • @LeGeorgettier for creating the beautiful trailer, seen above.
  • Every member of the Parks Benefactor Program, for encouraging me to continue development and push the mod to new heights. Special thanks to all of the current Old Faithful level donors for your especially generous contributions: AcePilot2k7, MetFan11214, WarriorPatrol, swatteam9112004, YungTr3, PawPaw2014, Drixize, Trevor185, malcolmnote2, masonjai, jmoney545, Moonrammer, Alessandro34_YT, SOCALI, Marco321132, reddragon96, Trebor5007, elvismowery6, HaT3, Jezzaron, MedicShae, LeoTheSkunk, EmergeNYC, fireguy7775, HCSO689, Biggz, Criminal_Justice, Kyle.K, snipes2025.

What's New in Version 3.1b

Released

Version 3.1b (fix for GTA V 2699):

LML Package (DLC) Updates:

  • Disabled "yaluxe" model from vehicles.meta config due to crashes on GTA V 2699

Plugin Updates:

  • Removed RageNativeUIl.dll from bundled download due to out-of-sync updates
  • Updated Readme with info about downloading RNUI manually and with link to Packfile Limit Adjuster

You do not need to download this plugin update if you previously had 3.1 installed and working correctly. You do need to update the LML package however to prevent game crashes on GTA V 2699. There are no other changes to the content or callouts in this update.

Previous Version History

Spoiler

Version 3.1:

LML Package (DLC) Updates:

  • No updates - use version 3.0

Plugin Updates:

  • Fixed crash that could occur when backup boats were spawned with an unexpected configuration
  • Fixed crash that could hang the game when dropping peds off at a helicopter/boat drop off point if the LSPDFR backup configuration was missing an ambulance configuration for that region
  • Fixed crash that could occur when driving a vehicle configured like a forklift but without actual fork parts (e.g. some fire ladder truck models)
  • Improved the functionality to prevent the player from yanking the copilot out of the helicopter when attempting to enter a heli with a copilot sitting in it
  • Updated bundled RageNativeUI version to avoid game crash on latest GTA update

Version 3.0:

LML Package (DLC) Updates:

  • Added working mounted guns on 25' Defender, 29' RBS-II, and 45' Response Boat Medium. New model names: defender2, rbs2b, rbm2
  • Fixed spotlight model issues on Jayhawk and AW-139 helicopters
  • Updated map files to spawn new armed boats at stations
  • Fixed display names for some ship models
  • Updates and enhancements to non-EUP coast guard peds
  • Updated seating layouts on most coast guard boat models
  • Updated side door extras on defender and poldef models to randomly spawn in open position and fix issue with glass collisions

Plugin Updates:

  • Added script support for mounted guns on boats, including ability to spawn and control a gunner ped on your boat (works with the fireboat too!) with a new "gunner" submenu on the boat menu (can also be opened by pressing K while in an armed boat).
  • Added all new boat models to configuration files.
  • Requesting "boat swat backup" from the Coastal Callouts menu will spawn armed boats with mounted gunners.
  • In boat pursuits, AI boats will shoot mounted guns at fleeing boat when tactics mode is set to "enabled" in the LSPDFR pursuit menu (bound to the N key by default).
  • New callout, "Ship Security Escort". Recommended to install the Nathan James and Bertholf ship models by @SkylineGTRFreak as they will sometimes spawn for the security escort mission if available. Otherwise, container ships will spawn for this mission. Patrol near the ship and turn back any boats approaching the security zone - using force if necessary!
  • New callout, "Submarine Medevac". Lower yourself onto a moving submarine from a helicopter, and go inside the expansive interior to locate the sick crew member and take them to the hospital.
  • Massive overhaul of the helicopter copilot AI. Copilot is much smarter now, and is much less likely to ram into buildings, fly into the terrain, or randomly dive into the water. Copilot landing is also much smoother. When copilot is flying to a marked destination, will approach and smoothly slow down instead of overshooting the destination at full speed.
  • Added new "heading" setting to copilot menu, allowing you to force the helicopter to face a specified direction when in copilot mode.
  • Fixed issue where spawning the rescue stretcher on the hoist would sometimes knock the helicopter's door off.
  • Fixed issue where player ped would move around unpredictably when using the hoist camera.
  • Enhanced "enable spotlight" mode for helicopter AI, will now track followed ped/vehicle when copilot is in follow mode.
  • If attempting to enter a heli with a copilot in the pilot's seat, you will now enter the copilot seat instead of ripping them out.
  • Fixed several rare bugs which could cause occasional crashes in some callouts.

Version 2.3:

LML Package (DLC) Updates:

  • Moved USCG EUP assets to different slots to improve compatibility with recent EUP updates
  • Updated meta entries for ship models to fix various issues and show ship names when spawned
  • Fixed issue with fireboat model not working properly in single player

Plugin Updates:

  • Added support for Cayo Perico map:
    • Added locations on Cayo Perico to Plane Cargo Transport, Stranded Hiker Cliff Rescue, and Capsized Canoe/Kayak callouts.
    • Suppress large ship models from spawning in ambient boat traffic around the island.
    • Suppress certain less-relevant callouts from ambiently spawning when near the island (can still be forced).
    • Updated spawn logic for all callouts to prevent spawning boats/ships in the middle of the island which used to be considered open ocean.
  • Fixed boat siren sounds not activating on most recent GTA update.
  • Major improvements to the grab function:
    • Grabbing a ped who has been stopped using the built-in LSPDFR stop ped feature will now clear their stopped state and prevent the animation from glitching out.
    • If you press and hold E while grabbing a ped using Coastal, they will be arrested. They'll now be marked properly as having been arrested by the player, allowing you to pat them down, call transport backup, take them to jail yourself, etc.
    • You can now grab a ped during a pursuit if the ped is in the water or has their hands up (e.g. is surrendering but hasn't been arrested yet so pursuit is still active). This makes boat pursuits much easier to deal with, as you can now swim up to a fleeing ped in the water, grab them, then arrest them. You can also walk up to a ped who has surrendered in a boat and grab them directly out of their seat, then arrest them.
  • Major improvements to boat pursuits:
    • Updated boat pursuit AI so pursuits don't go on quite as long. Peds will now give up after a certain amount of time if they are being actively pursued.
    • By default, tactics and lethal force will be disabled on boat pursuits. You can manually turn these on in the LSPDFR pursuit config menu to force AI to shoot at the engines (tactics enabled) or suspects (lethal force enabled). This will help prevent pursuits from immediately escalating into gunfire.
    • Pursuing AI boat units will now keep up with the fleeing suspect boat much better, even at high speeds.
  • Improved compatibility and using new API features with LSPDFR version 0.4.8:
    • Added callout advisory text to some callouts. You will see this as grey text below the location and callout type when you receive a dispatch request.
    • Updated callout criteria to reduce how often irrelevant callouts appear ambiently, while allowing them to be forced from the LSPDFR pause menu, StartCallout command, a plugin like Callout Manager, or the Coastal Callouts menu.
  • Improved life ring to not glitch out the first time it's enabled after going on duty, and to not be invisible sometimes after throwing the ring.
  • Updated suspect AI behavior on stolen train callout to be slightly less stupid. Also removed the hostage ped from the callout which was confusing for many users.
  • Order Passengers Out of Boat command on Boats menu will now warp peds onto the dock/dry land if you are next to one, rather than dumping peds in the water.
  • Patient dropoff from helis or boats will now use ambulance models and ped models pulled from your LSPDFR backup config, instead of hard-coded in the coastal config files. If you have different vehicles or uniforms configured for different regions, the appropriate variation will spawn for wherever you are dropping off patients.
  • Updated tow boat request feature to utilize available boats nearby instead of dispatching a new boat, if any are available.
  • Updated EUP configurations for EUP 8.1 (latest public release) and EUP 9.0 (latest EUP beta release), including Coastal Callouts peds config, LSPDFR locker room config, and wardrobe.ini entries.
  • Added new scanner audio (make sure to update lspdfr/audio folder).

Version 2.0:

LML Package (DLC) Updates:

  • Added all new 29' Response Boat Small II model, custom modeled by @lumoize  specifically for Coastal Callouts! Will spawn at the Los Santos Coast Guard Station boat ramp, and ambiently patrolling near the airport, Fort Zancudo, and other locations. The USCG has mostly replaced the Defender with this boat, although you will still see both in game.
  • Updated carcols.meta siren entries for all Coastal vehicles to reduce the number of slots used and improve light output and environmental lighting. Note there are new siren setting IDs. The poldef (sheriff/port police defender) model has also been updated for better compatibility with the new carcols.
  • Added flashing landing lights on several helicopter models (MH-65, AW-139). Press the siren key to activate them.
  • Updated stokes rescue litter model and added new rigging models by lumoize, used to support new dual hoist stretcher mode.
  • Made yacht windows see-through, so you can actually see into the yacht on the yacht fire callout (or any time you spawn one using a trainer or otherwise).
  • Updated coast guard peds by Jax from the RDE team, now with better clothing for heavy weather and tactical units.

Plugin Updates:

  • Added new helicopter copilot mode "circle player", which will circle around you at a distance while you work. You have to select this mode manually from the menu, it is never used in auto mode (which defaults to follow player when no waypoint is set and you are out of the heli).
  • Heli copilot landing skills have been improved substantially, so they can now land better when there are nearby obstacles.
  • Help prompts have been updated throughout the mod to reduce user confusion and make features easier to understand.
  • On the fireworks security zone callout, the AI police boats circling the barge will now automatically yell at and blip their sirens at any nearby intruding spectators. You can still yell at intruders yourself, too.
  • Extras in coastal vehicles.xml file will work properly now, they were not processed correctly in the previous version.
  • New heli hoist hook model and hoisting animations to make it more realistic.
  • New rigging/ropes for stokes rescue litter, allowing you to attach to the stretcher while there is a ped in the stretcher. Press Shift+* to get on the stretcher.
  • Hoist now rotates freely instead of always facing the ped/stretcher north.
  • Yacht fire callout has been significantly updated. Peds now spawn in more locations and scenarios around the boat, and are usually able to walk themselves up to the muster area unassisted.
  • Ambulance dropoff for boats has been improved with a better stretcher model and improved animations for the NPCs carrying the stretcher.
  • Fixed numerous possible crashes.
  • Dismissing your helicopter will let the copilot switch to the pilot's seat and fly away in the helicopter, instead of just marking it as deletable and leaving it on the ground.
  • Changed default coastal peds.xml configuration to non-EUP with new improved uscg ped models. Added separate optional configs and wardrobes for EUP public release (8.1) and beta (8.8).
  • Added ability to enter a custom search radius on the search backup menu.
  • Added numerous new API and improved API options, including API access to more hoist-related features and a new API for the search backup menu, allowing plugin devs to integrate coastal's search backup with their own callouts. Includes APIs to support compatibility with Grammar Police and Fire Callouts.

FiveM Package Updates:

  • Changed fireboat to version without any weapons (water cannons) because of crashes on FiveM with water cannons on boats.
  • Updated all other models to match latest versions in LML package.

Version 1.2c:

This is a quick fix for additional issues found since version 1.2b was released. This update is recommended.

  • The script's dependency check was not correctly checking the LSPDFR version, resulting in a crash when using old versions of LSPDFR. Note that LSPDFR 0.4.6+ is required. LSPDFR 0.4.7 has been tested and is compatible with Coastal Callouts.
  • Fixed issue with cargo crate that would fall apart when hit with forklift during plane transport callout
  • The POLDEF model had a bug where it would freeze its position when repaired
  • The FiveM package had corrupted files for airport_fire.ymap and cgas-lsia.ymap

Version 1.2b:

This is a quick fix for a few issues found since version 1.2 was released. There are no major feature changes, but the update is recommended.

  • Fixed issue which would cause LSPDFR to hang indefinitely the first time Coastal is loaded when RPH is configured to load LSPDFR automatically when game launches
  • Fixed crash which can happen when attaching a ped or basket to the hoist on a helicopter that was not modeled to support hoists
  • Updated "Dismiss Heli" option on heli menu to work even if the player's last-used heli is empty/crashed/abandoned
  • Fixed issue in Helicopter menu which would highlight incorrect menu entry after opening hoist menu
  • Updated Bell 412 heli model to remove pitot tube covers and engine inlet covers
  • Changed load order of ambient ped modelsets to prevent civilian peds from spawning in LSIA air station hangar
  • Added CScenarioPoint Patch to recommended installs and added to dependency check: https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/cscenariopoint-patch

Version 1.2:

LML Package (DLC) Updates:

  • Added new Bell 412 helicopter
  • Added working spotlights to all Coastal Callouts boats (with the new version of @alexguirre's Spotlight mod)
  • Improved Los Santos Coast Guard station with better gates that auto-open when you approach, guard booth, and other details
  • Updated Los Santos Airport Fire Station map with two helipads, scenario to spawn fire heli taking off occasionally, and other details
  • Added new flags at all stations
  • Added in fences that R* forgot to install along the south side of the Vespucci marina
  • Updated all map updates to work with MP map enabled or disabled

Plugin Updates:

  • Improved hoist spawning to avoid "glitching" that can sometimes occur
  • Improved spawning of Paleto Bay station to not show up in the air
  • Updated callout config menu (under the main menu tab)
    • Added "Coastal Callouts Only" mode for when you want to only get Coastal calls
    • Added "Request Random Coastal Callout" button
  • Added menu option to toggle ambient boats on/off in-game without having to restart and change INI
  • Added disable flight music option to INI, default to yes
  • Added checkbox in spawn menu to spawn in current position (instead of warping into sky/water for aircraft/boats)
  • Clarified numerous help prompts
  • Fixed bug which would cause "Unable to load Model Config" error when loading when other conflicting plugins were present
  • Added ability to read in extra vehicle config files from "AdditionalVehicles" folder in ModelConfig
  • Moved vehicle spawn settings from main INI to separate INI file in CoastalCallouts/VehicleSpawnMenu.ini
  • Improved controls/keys for airplane cargo drop feature, to avoid accidentally dropping when trying to use rudder with controller
  • Added "put ped in vehicle" keybinding to INI
  • Added better key icons in help prompts for keyboard bindings
  • Added more detail to rescue heli training callout prompts
  • Added startup check for if multiple copies or any old versions of LML package are loaded
  • Fixed issue with teleport command that caused some map assets to occasionally not load in after teleporting
  • Other miscellaneous small bug fixes

FiveM Package Updates:

  • All changes mentioned in LML package section above
  • Fixed bug which caused add-on props in Coastal package to not spawn

Honest question: Why do I need to accept a privacy terms por a in-game mod?

Seems a bit strange the need to accept privacy terms and data collection in a game mod...

@PNWParksFan Looks awesome, can't wait to try it !

By the way, are you planning on adding a "lore friendly version" for the vehicles included in the pack ? I saw the mention of an "international pack" in the FAQ, so i dare ask.

Also, some config files for BejoIjo's plugins could be great (drop off points, offences), like it as been made for Albo's !

Many mods check for updates online. I decided to make this more transparent to the user than most other mods have, so you can be aware of how your data is being used. If you read the privacy policy, you can see that I collect very little information. It's just so you're fully aware.

I haven't used his plugins. If someone wants to create configs for them, I can add them to the mod. No plans currently for a lore friendly version, but will coordinate with the RDE team when RDE 4 releases to ensure compatibility.
