Overview

The Paradise Seventh-day Adventist Church (CA) Community Outreach Project is one of our many efforts based in North America. Each year, Maranatha works with organizations in the United States and Canada to provide volunteer labor for various construction or renovation projects.

In November 2018, the Camp Fire swept over the Paradise community in northern California, devastating more than 20,000 acres, and left very little unscathed. Maranatha has been asked to assist the Paradise Adventist Church with a community outreach initiative. Many people who lost their homes are currently living in campers and RV’s, with no space to store their belongings. Last November, one year from the fire, Maranatha volunteers built 202 sheds for fire victims. Maranatha has been asked to provide another 250 sheds. Volunteers will assist in constructing 250 storage sheds (10 x 12 feet) for members of this community.

Due to the lack of infrastructure in the surrounding community, housing for volunteers will be dorm-style in the Paradise Adventist School classrooms. Although parts of the school have been affected by the fire and therefore not in operation, the classrooms and kitchen are intact. The school is across the street from the church parking lot where we will be working. There is plenty of space for RV’s.

Please consider joining us on this project and don’t forget your tools!

Completed 118 storage sheds for a total of 14,160 sq feet.
