Story
its not called getting old, its called getting ill
in honour of the many people who have been affected by / or seen their loved ones go through Alzheimer’s/ Dementia, all the different variations of it i am going to be doing half a marathon (13 miles) from Cud-more grove in East Mersea to stanway lakeland’s community centre on September 2nd 2023.
Alzheimer’s is such a horrible disease that can affect anyone and not everyone can get the help they need or be educated enough to help out friends, family people you care for and peers with there physical, intellectual, social and emotional needs which is really detrimental to them in every stage of the three stages (early, middle and late)
my experience with this horrible disease; a close family member has been diagnosed with vascular dementia recently so in honour of them and people who have been affected by this i would like to raise some money for the wonderful charity Alzheimer’s society a little would help a lot!
what is vascular dementia?Vascular dementia is the second most common type of dementia (after Alzheimer's disease). Everyone experiences it differently; symptoms vary depending on the person and the areas of the brain that are affected. The life expectancy can be 5+ years however someone with vascular dementia is most likely to die of a stoke or heart attack then this disease
please share this page and raise awareness for it, donate as little you want or as much as you can( only do it if you can afford) any donation helps with this cause!
have a wonderful day,
Freya Russell
