Large Equipment with Low Pressure? How Marathon Construction Company Restores Wetlands

2 Sep 2022

Back in the early ‘90s, a family-owned business Marathon Construction Company, began their work “Shaping San Diego’s Waterfront" becoming experts in weltand lagoon restoration. A high-production job like this one calls for expertise in both equipment and outside-of-the-box thinking to ensure each machine has been modified to meet each environment’s specific needs. At the Del Mar location, the earthwork portion of this eight-year project will take approximately two years to dig into the water table so each heavy piece of machinery needs to exert the lowest ground pressure.

Watch this video to hear how the RDO and John Deere team worked with Marathon Construction Company to restore this waterfront property.
