What’s worse than spilling coffee all over my billionaire boss? Accidentally emailing him my answers to a sex quiz.
That was me. I did that. I might be a genius, but that was really dumb.
I sneak into the office to delete it, but it’s too late. He knows my naughtiest fantasies.
Instead of firing me, he wants to fulfill every one of them.
He’s everything I didn’t know I wanted: Older, fiercely protective and a possessive streak the size of Montana.
But can he really want someone like me with a past full of man struggles and a head full of math problems?

Find out the answer in this steamy small town romance where a nerdy heroine is outsmarted by a lumberjack-sized billionaire in a test of love. With all the books in the On A Manhunt series, it’s always open season on men.

This was a quick steamy contemporary romance that I liked. It's loosely based on the 80s classic movie, Sixteen Candles (one of my favorite romcoms), which I thought was truly unique. I feel like I see a lot of fairytale retellings, but not a lot of romcom movie retellings. I really liked the premise!

In terms of the book, the spice was good, and I liked the male main character, Maverick. Maverick is extremely possessive and protective, which I really liked; it worked for him. Unfortunately, the couple was super insta-love, which is not my favorite trope, and they were both about to cum in their pants (literally) just after making eye contact the first time they met in a coffee shop.

The female main character was not my favorite. She was a little too "I'm so shy and nerdy, and I don't realize I'm beautiful because I'm such a nerd!" if ya know what I mean. Definitely a pick me girl. She also seemed to think everyone else is slutty except her, and she just kept thinking about how much of a victim she is and how she's ~not like other girls~(not in those words, but you get it.....gag me). She overall seemed kind of stupid, judgmental of her friends/sister, and always the victim in need of Maverick to protect her.

Besides the FMC, my one major complaint about the book is that the entire premise is that Maverick sees her answers on a sex quiz that she was filling out for her girls' night out, but the sex quiz itself is 4 questions. Then, of those 4 questions, 2 of them are basic questions about her sexual history (I think they're literally like "are you a virgin?" and "how many people have you had sex with?"). Even more frustrating was that the FMC skipped 2 of the questions because she's too ~shy~ and embarrassed, so we have even less content to work with. In my opinion, that does not make this an embarrassing kinky sex quiz (which was how the book was marketed). Rather, it was more like a questionnaire that you fill out for your doctor. I understand that the author wanted to use the exact same questions that Samantha Baker answered in the movie Sixteen Candles, but Samantha Baker was a high school student in the 1980s. Given that the FMC is in her 20s in present day, and she was taking a sex quiz with her adult friends, and then accidentally leaks it to her much-older adult boss, I was hoping this quiz would be longer and more "mature" with more specific questions & answers about her secret desires and specific kinks (not just one kinky answer that was just "I want to be on me knees"...is her kink literally that she wants to give a blowjob? Or just submit? that's it?). In my opinion, it would have been more fun and steamy if they explored all of her answers on a really extensive quiz, but there wasn't much to explore given she answered like 1 out of 4 questions on the most basic sex quiz ever. It was steamy in some ways, but I expected much more...maybe that's on me though. I think I had high expectations for this sex quiz, and then I was just underwhelmed.

Overall, I'd still recommend Man Hunt (is it Manhunt or Man Hunt? I've seen it both ways in the book, goodreads, and tiktok lol). It is a really fast read. It has some unique plot points, and I liked the setting a lot too. I think this will shape up to be a fun series. I think Lindy and Dex will have a great story because there will hopefully be less insta-love. Lindy also seems like a stronger and more likable character. I am looking forward to reading!

Thank you to the author for providing me with an eARC of this book. I enjoyed it and am very grateful to have had the early opportunity to dive into this world.

Was this original? No...
Have I read a story like this 6 times before? Yes...
Did I still enjoy the crap out of it? Yes...

There is a reason that Hallmark makes the same recycled Christmas Movies every year, with the same plot, tropes and Happy Ending. And there is a reason why I watch EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Because I like comfort, I like knowing what works and what is going to give me exactly what I need. And this book gave me exactly what I needed.

So what does it matter that it wasn't the first time I have seen an age-gap billionaire small-town romance that is very instalovie? I don't care - because I wanted an age-gap billionaire small-time romance that didn't make me think very hard. I wanted cute moments and fluff and maybe just a little bit of smut to pass the time and just make me happy.

That's what this book did. It made me happy.

Now while I probably won't read it again (because I will probably pick up another book like this) it's perfect to scratch an itch, make you smile and give you comfort in its pages.

Trope Summary:
▶ Billionaire Romance
▶ Age Gap
▶ Small Town
▶ Workplace Romance
▶ 16 Candles Inspired
▶ Cute Animal Companion

Also...I did not think such a quick little read would so accurately explain why I have a good girl kink...

respectfully, this was the most INSANE book i’ve ever read LMAOOOO. the most corny cringey insta love shit i had ever seen and i ATE IT UP dsjghksjdhgksj. the author fr went to the ali hazelwood academy of teeny tiny pick me girl and big strong boy but other than that i lowkey stan? 😭

mind you, 76% of this book takes place in ONE day 😭 we get a brief day two and then ends at the end of the week. so literally spans a week maybe a whole 36 hours together MAX prior to it skipping to the end of the week at the book when they make up lmfaooo

all of this aside, IF YOU FORGET IT SPANS THIS AMOUNT OF TIME its a really fun book 😂 all of the characters are super likeable. Mav and Bridget are both total sweet hearts, his brothers are totally adorable, the sister and bestie are also super fun.

i do fully believe that an IRL mav would deserve a restraining order and jail time however bc hes not real its ok

anyway this is a quick steamy low stakes read. it IS corny and cheesy i cannot stress that enough but i had a great time over all even if my updates for this book did not seem that way 💀🤭

I never read from this author before but I’m glad i did and I’m glad this book is not that bad…. Because sometimes new book from new author makes me nervous 😂 I never know if the story will go well, or if the hero is a azzhole or what cause I have my own taste of books… I just hope for the best😂
And oftentimes new books from new authors I came across is so freakin annoying, the stories can be so freakin not safe and even many wrong things…. And that really waste my time… So that’s why I’m very picky with my readings these days cause there are so many wrong novels out there that normalize wrong doings when you can’t just write that!

Okay moving on….

THIS IS MY FIRST REVIEW IN 2023 SO HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY AND HAVE A GREAT YEAR!!! 🤩🤩🤩

The book start with a cute story of a background between the couple… And how they meet for the first time is so freakin cute and lovely actually and hot! I love it when the book don’t have a boring meet for the first time 😂

They meet for the first time in a coffee shop (which is so cute). The hero was visiting the city because one of his companies needs him to be there. And he visited a coffee shop… The hero was alone during the time (not with someone else or girlfriend lol cause i hate when that happens), the heroine was alone as well and was in a call with her boss talking about the job she have to do. The hero listened the heroine talking and turn back to see her. The hero was captivated by the heroine because the way she was talking, she was counting numbers. The hero was so impressed cause the heroine was smart by calculating the numbers alone not using a calculator and the heroine is so beautiful…. “I had no idea what she was talking about, but I was fascinated. Whatever the math problem, she wasn’t using a calculator or one in her cell phone.”. And suddenly the heroine noticed the hero was watching her and she blushes. The heroine immediately knows the hero is her boss like the CEO of the company she works at and she wants to run away lol. The hero grab the last ordered from the waiter and suddenly the heroine run him over by spilled her ice coffee on his shirt. The heroine apologizes and the hero said it’s okay. The hero Even say “baby” to the heroine like it’s okay lol. Which is hot! And that’s when the story starts….

And the hero since that coffee shop, he can’t stop thinking about the heroine at all…. Even already told his brother about it few hours later😏 So hot!!!!

“Someone ran into me with a cup of coffee.”

A wince crossed his face.
“You look way too happy for having your nipples burned off.”

“Iced coffee, thankfully.”

“So what gives then?”

“A pretty woman did it.”

My mind drifted to those full lips and wide hips.

‼️‼️‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT

‼️‼️‼️DUAL POV

‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING

‼️‼️‼️NO UNNECESSARY CHILDISH DRAMA

‼️‼️‼️SAFE ROMANTIC HOT LOVE STORY

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE BILLIONAIRE ALPHA MALE

And no the hero is not a manwhor3.

‼️‼️‼️THE HEROINE is very smart young woman, math genius, friendly and very shy and great woman. Even her sister called her “human calculator”.

I love that the author make the heroine like that, to have that unique side of the character…

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS 37 years old and the heroine 22 years old.

‼️‼️‼️MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO AND very little from the heroine…

Even before they were dating, the hero got so jealous. So hot!

“I caught Jimenez’s eyes on her retreating form. I cleared my throat and gripped the edge of the table.”

“How many partners have you had? She typed in 1. One? Fuck, yes. One. Her no comment answer to the kink question made more sense. It wasn’t like someone figured out their naughtiest kinks with their first sexual partner, unless that partner was really skilled… and kinky. Now I needed to go on a manhunt and kill Mr. 1. I groaned. Literally closed my eyes and groaned. Now I really wanted to track down Mr. 1 and beat the shit out of him for not being a gentleman. A lady always came first. Always. Or I should thank him because the first time she came with a guy was going to be with me. On my fingers, my mouth, my dick. Any of them. ALL OF THEM. I was suddenly very possessive of Bridget Beckett’s orgasms.”

“The idea of Silas seeing Bridget’s perfect body had me losing my shit.”

‼️‼️‼️NO SEPARATION

‼️‼️‼️NO EX FVCK BUDDY OR EX GIRLFRIEND BOYFRIEND EVER SHOWS UP.

The heroine talked about her ex but just two times and never more because there was a problem with her ex (not a big serious problem).

And no the hero never talks about his past with anyone.

And also his room on his own hotel, he never used one with anyone before. So that’s great!

‼️‼️‼️NO VIRGINS.

But celibate for a long time…

‼️‼️‼️The heroes have three brothers that are very close to so it’s nice to see that🥺

‼️‼️‼️THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THEM IS SO FREAKIN ROMANTIC…

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS SO FREAKIN OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE SO MUCH AND WANTS HER SO BAD…

He repeatedly always say that to the heroine and always sweet talk to her 🥺

‼️‼️‼️VERY HOT SMUT SCENES…

The hero really knows how to worship the heroine’s body😏

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS PUSHING AWAY FROM THE HEROINE BUT NOT TOO MUCH… THE HERO NEVER PUSH HER AWAY….

‼️‼️‼️WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT THE BOOK:

1. The hero when he first saw the heroine’s sister, he kinda like said to himself she looked perfect lol. “Her much older, very blonde sister. Shit. She was the one I should be into. A woman who wasn’t fifteen years younger.”. I find that to be so freakin weird af 🥵🥵🥵🥵 like author stop that shit!
2. The sex scenes is not much which is annoying. I want it to be more than two tho😭

‼️‼️‼️THE END is them finally happy and very much in love… maybe the next epilogue will be in the next book? I hope so. Cause i need the couples to be married 🥺🥺🥺

👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽 IF YOU'RE BEING MEAN AND NEGATIVE ALREADY WITH A WARNING AND NOT BEING WISE TO ME, I WILL NOT ENTIRELY READ YOUR COMMENT AND REMOVE YOU EASILY AND FAST. I DO NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT SO KNOW YOUR PLACE, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I’m writing my disclaimer again here cause many negative people still don't get it or still be stupid enough not to understand my POV when I already write it so many times before. So here I am writing it again to you beautifuls human being😁😁 WHEN YOU READ MY LONG OR SHORT REVIEW, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT I LIKE ABOUT A STORY AND CHARACTERS RIGHT... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEN HERE IT IS: I LIKE A BOOK WITH VERY POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE, NO CHEATING, AND PLEASE NO MANWHOR3, NO MANY PUSHING AWAY, NO DOORMAT HEROINES, NO MANY OW DRAMA, NO S3X SCENE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. AND SAFE ALL THE WAY AND A HAPPY ENDING. Something that I don't like it very much if the hero or heroine have a crazy fvcked up personality and likes. Example: killing someone and let the heroine watch it all and push the heroine to lick all the blood of his victim and made her have to eat the meat of humans. and fvcks many woman in front of the heroine while telling her he loves her. I DON'T LIKE THAT TYPE OF SH*T AT ALL. That's just who I am, that's what I like and I don't like on a book. Maybe you love that, but I don't. We humans are different, we think very differently from one another. You have your likes and I have mine, you have your opinions and I have mine of my own. You think it's stupid of me to love such a book or to not love a book or to hate it whatever lol, I think it's bad you think that way cause I respect people's opinions cause I know for a fact we have our differences. YOU AND ME ARE DIFFERENT FOR PETE'S SAKE. I even have my own friends or people I follow here that shows how much they don't like the book I like, I never even give them a long comment or short Comment. Cause I respect their opinions. I don't like to give people I hard time here cause life itself is already hard enough. I do respect your opinion if you say my review is bad or whatever negative things about it, but in the end of the day I will not changed my mind about what book I dislike and how my thoughts about it. You can't tell me what to do. You can give me advice but it's me who decided to know what's right for me, this is my life and not yours. Read that again. Don’t assume things about me that is not even real, just don’t. cause when you do you’re more small minded for sure. You're thinking why I'm telling you all of this when you already know? Is because you still hating on my opinions and don't understand my POV and don't respect my POV. You think i like writing this disclaimer when obviously you're an adult already? no i personally think this is unnecessary... but because there are people out there who still don't get it *rolling my eyes*. Hopefully they or the people who read this disclaimer can use a beautiful thing called a brain:) AND WHEN YOU READ MY REVIEW, READ IT VERY CLEARLY TO SEE IF I FINISHED THE BOOK OR NOT. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AND YES ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. BUT IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M WRITING, THEN IT MEANS YOU UNDERSTAND IT ENOUGH. I DO NOT TOLERATE BULLYING, NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND MEAN WORDS. PLEASE USE A WISE WORDS SO WE DON'T ATTACK EACH OTHER. SIMPLY, I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE AN ARGUMENT WITH STRANGERS LIKE YOU CAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO😚 BUT IF YOU STILL WANT TO BE AMBER HEARD KARENS THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND MY DISCLAIMER AFTER I JUST WRITE IT DOWN, THEN GO ENJOY YOUR DAY AND GO AWAY. IT'S VERY EASY FOR A HUMAN COULD DO YA KNOW. IF YOU STILL HERE HATING ME OR ANNOYED WITH ME, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. NOT ME PROBLEM. HASHTAGS BURN😂😂 DON'T TAKE THINGS TOO PERSONALLY ON ONLINE CAUSE WE ALL A STRANGERS, WE NEVER EVER MEET. WE'RE ADULTS HERE SO LETS BE WISER. LAST, I BLOCK NEGATIVE PEOPLE! SO GET WELL SOON TO THE HATERS. HOPEFULLY YOUR HEART AND MIND WILL BE MORE POSITIVE 🙏🙏🙏 AND THIS DISCLAIMER MAY SEEMS LIKE TOO HARSH ON YOU BUT HEY I DON'T LIKE TO SUGAR COATED THINGS. I LIKE TO SAY TO THE POINT WITH MY UNDERSTANDING AND MY OWN THOUGHTS, CAUSE THAT'S HOW HUMANS ARE. WE ARE DIFFERENT REMEMBER👍 HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: billionaire, small town, nerdy heroine,
Angst: 😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

"'𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘺.' 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥. '𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘐'𝘮 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵.'"

Absolutely love, love, LOVED this book! If you're looking for an instalove palette cleanser, you won't find a better one. Heroine is a kinda-hot-mess nerdy girl, who accidentally forwards a sex questionnaire to her (boss's) boss who is visiting from out of town. Hero is a billionaire who's lumberjack huge and falls for her sexy brain :) Age gap with total daddy vibes without any actual "daddy". Seriously hot with tons of chemistry between them. Great girl crew with antics that had me chortling to laughing out loud. Wonderfully entertaining read that will definitely be a reread!

I’m pretty neutral on age-gap romances. I don’t mind them.

What I do mind is the combination of this older man obsessing over how young this woman is, calling any man who is her exact age a “boy” and likening them to children who don’t know anything, having a virgin kink and getting turned on by being this woman’s “first” on numerous different fronts, calling this woman “baby” and ogling her ass upon them meeting each other right before this same man fires some other guy for sexually harassing and ogling her just like he did.

And also the book’s constant focus on our main character’s fear of being taken advantage of by her superior due to past trauma with a college professor and framing this as a simple romantic conflict for this relationship to overcome.

These topics just aren’t handled with grace, in my opinion, and it’s difficult to root for a couple when the guy keeps comparing himself to his father who only pursued young 20-somethings because they are, unfortunately, painfully similar men on that front and the single throwaway line mentioning Maverick having dated women his age in the past didn’t do much to help it.

It doesn’t feel like Maverick views Bridgett as a grown, adult woman who stands as his equal and his hypocrisy in handling workplace harassment was really bizarre. If you were this concerned about the women in this office feeling safe from unwanted advances, you wouldn’t push this hard for your employee to have sex with you while trying to calm her skittish nature around you. It just doesn’t work smoothly!

The smut was good and I love small town romances, but the premise and execution of this plot was deeply unsettling and too uncomfortable to ignore.

It’s a very tricky subject matter and something I’ve really only seen be done successfully once before.

CW: explicit sexual content, heavy focus on workplace sexual harassment, references to toxic past relationship with authority figure, current conflicts surrounding complex sexual relationship with authority figure, references to dead parents, grief

- lumberjack daddy mmc
- nerdy fmc
- billionaire
- boss/employee
- age gap
- small town
- size difference

So a good 90% of the story takes places over the span of 48 hours, and if you overlook the absolute lack of plot and just soak up the vibes & smutty goodness of the book then you’ll like it.

3.25 stars, 2.5 spice!

OTT fun, for better AND for worse. Man Hunt by Vanessa Vale is a great series kickoff; it sets off the campy fun immediately, and sticks the landing on that tone from beginning to end. Don't go into this book, or this series it's appearing like, expecting a serious contemporary romance, with all loose ends thought of and tied up or trope subversions that mess with our expectations. This is pretty much just an entertaining romp of the read. About ~250 pages, and I got through it in a jiffy. Quick, digestible writing makes for easy reading.

Loved our MMC Mav, who truly epitomizes a man down bad for a woman. The minute he looked the FMC Bridget's way, he was done for. In terms of romance, you get an age-gap (FMC is 22/23 and MMC is 37), boss x employee (MMC is technically the boss's boss who isn't really onsite ever), he-falls-first-and-hard, dirty talk, and praise/good girl and spanking in the spice.

This book was pretty much cruising for a 3.75/4 stars just for the sheer fun of it until the utterly silly third-act miscommunication drama in the last 20%. The resolution of this drama happens pretty quick, and the makeup sex is hot and fulfills the spanking promise from the first half (no one likes a Chekov's spanking!), but it can't quite eliminate my disappointment. There are two main reasons, under spoilers below.

ANYWAY this was still fun, and I loved the chemistry between the leads. Although the FMC fell way too many times into the "running woman" trope, where the FMC's answer to any and all situations was to dash away, one time in a bedsheet through the fucking fields.

Also, am I going crazy or was there no ultimate resolution to the professor thingy? I feel like that dropped off in the end.

ANWAY AGAIN - I'll definitely be continuing the series this year, and am excited to do so!

Ugh, this book wasn’t for me, there were just so many things that I didn’t like. The book started out as a solid 3-star read but over time it got bad and honestly I don’t even know where to start.

First of all, this book is the epitome of insta-love, which is something I don’t tend to enjoy and it wasn’t any different with this book. The two main characters meet in a coffee shop for the first time and talk for about 5 minutes, and in these 5 minutes they nearly come in their pants just from looking at each other. He also starts calling her Baby at this time, which I didn’t find sexy at all, it only had my eyes rolling. Hard. There are so many moments where I think the relationship is progressing way way way too fast, that I can’t talk about all of them here. It wasn’t good.

Then there are the main characters. Maverick is obsessed with Bridget after he reads her answers to the sex quiz, which in all honesty was such a vanilla quiz for women in their 20s. He is overprotective and very focused on the fact that he will be the first (and only) man to give her orgasms. Bridget itself was at first an okay MC, but after a while it got so bad with her. She is super insecure, nearly every thought of her is that she’s not good enough, that she has to be sorry for absolutely normal things, like saying hello, it was way too much. All I wanted to do was slap her.

By the time we got to the third act drama, I was so over it that I thought about quitting. I was mad at everything and I really didn’t care if they would have a HEA. The drama itself would have been dissolved in 5 minutes, but of course there had to be miscommunication. Why let the characters talk about something, when you can easily drag this story for a few more chapters?

I won’t be reading anything more in this series. We get a small glimpse of the next couple, Mavericks brother and Bridget’s sister. He looked at her one time and knows he will marry her now, of course. It’s just not something I’ll enjoy.

Truly well done, unhinged romance.

Sometimes I need some unhinged romance. And this not only filled that need, but it was a pretty good book as a bonus.

📕 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Man Hunt by Vanessa Vale

📙 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: On a Manhunt character series, book 1.

📗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: E-book on Kindle. Free on KU.

📘 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲: Contemporary romance

📔 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Billionaire, he falls first and HARD, insta-love, small town, cute dog.

📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Bridget is mortified to see she’s sent the answers to her sex quiz - a joke between her friends - to her boss accidentally. But she’s even more surprised to hear what he has to say: the billionaire Maverick James wants to make her fantasies come true.

🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Listen. I’ll just get this out of the way. This guy meets Bridget, falls for her immediately, they do the third act breakup and they get their HEA within THREE DAYS.

And to be fair, I’m totally fine with it. The entire story was one big heart-eyed read. I love it when a guy falls first. And I loved both Maverick and Bridget’s character. And the spice was TOP NOTCH.

I am only giving it a 4.5 because I wish they got to know each other a little more. Otherwise, this book has me feral for more. I’m clearly going to drop everything and read the rest of this series.

𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ever since I've read the "Billionaire Ranch" series, Vanessa Vale became one of my favourite authors. I mentioned before that the age-gap tropes is one of my favourite and this one made it to the top.

The book was not that long and it was filled with heat, spice and something more. I am a sucker for insta-love, and this is why I loved the book. Maverick and Bridget were one of those couples. She was shy and nerdy, but soo soo beautiful. I don't see an option where Maverick doesn't falls in love with her 😁. He was a sexy alpha male and very protective of Bridget. The scenes between them were 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.

What can I say, expect...I fell in love with those two and I can't wait for Dex and Lindy's story. This will definately be an age-gap, but to my calculations I think that I will love it more 😍😍😍.

I received an ARC copy from Valentine PR and this is my voluntary review.

“No, but you’re… you. Why haven’t you been taken?”
“I think I was waiting for you.”

Well...well, this was a sexy spicy read with age gap insta-love work place romance at it's forefront. Splash in some interesting characters and a forced marriage plot, I don't regret reading Man Hunt. There are times even I don't mind being swept away by a handsome older boss who woos me with his charming kindness oozing confident sex appeal, and in this case, neither could Bridget.

Accidentally emailing your boss your answers to a sex quiz definitely classifies as meeting under the most unlikely of circumstances, but all that resulted from their chance encounter provided for a fun reading time. Cue in some conflict towards the end that questions the seriousness of their feelings, and you have a bona fide winner. Bridget and Maverick had sizzling chemistry since they laid eyes on each other, and I liked how they still understood how their relationship could be viewed as an abuse of power in other's eyes.

Maverick knew what he wanted - he wanted Bridget and he did whatever he could to prove how he could make her feel special, through his words and his actions, and uff. Were they filthy! And dirty! And desirable! But still, so so worth it! 🔥🔥🔥 I liked that Maverick was still troubled by how much he wanted someone so much younger than him, and the constant fear that he was turning into his father.

I also liked that Bridget wasn't just some pretty little young thing, rather a girl with brains who had just been cheated out of her education. She was smitten with Maverick and all their steamy times together were full of such comfortable passion and scorching with filthy desire. If that makes any sense! Sometimes you just need to read some M/F romances that remind you of how alone you are, and this one was an entertaining read to escape to. 💕💕

I also enjoyed the interactions between all of Maverick's brothers and how they all first teased Maverick for his relationship and then eventually warmed up to Bridget, when they saw how serious he was about to her. Bridget's own support system was also a fun bunch, and as it's part of a series, I am curious to see how the next part plays out. 🥰🥰

If you have a hankering for a possessive male lead, this is going to hit the spot. This book had me singing SZA's 'Big Boy' in my head on repeat lol. With the way Maverick was described, he fits the song. I really enjoyed the dominant and reserved dynamic between Maverick and Bridget. Super quick and fun read!

Man Hunt. So this is my first read from this author and I knew it was a contemporary, office/workplace, small town romance going in. I really do love the cover, but the story itself just didn’t do much for me sadly.

This is described as the heroine accidentally emailing her boss’s boss (who is in town) a sex quiz she was supposed to send to her best friend for girls night. While this does happen, it was just a lot less risqué and scandalous than I was lead to believe/hoping it would be. The questions are basic like, “are you a virgin” and “how many partners have you had”, that the heroine answers in one-word answers. Blah.

The heroine Bridget is described as nerdy and shy and one of those “doesn’t know her own beauty” type of girls. We see her meet Maverick, her boss’s boss and an owner of the construction company she works for. They first meet earlier in the day, which we get in a flashback, at a coffee shop when she spilled her iced coffee on him without knowing he’s her boss. This is set in small town Montana…which I swear do any other small towns exist anymore, why is it always Montana? But back to the story, it’s very insta-love, he’s immediately falling over himself upon meeting her because she does math in her head while on a phone call. And then when he gets her sex quiz in his email, well he can’t wait to show her all the good times. Lots of references to their size difference, when he first sees her he refers to her as “half pint”, and he immediately starts with the pet names too calling her “baby” from the moment he first speaks to her. There is an age gap (she’s 22, he’s 37) but the story is pretty surface level for that to really feel like it’s important to the story. Now I will say I love Sixteen Candles and this is referenced with the sex quiz and Jake Ryan. But the insta-love (this takes place over 1 weekend!) and the way things were handled (her past with sexual harassment and being taken advantage of, the 3rd act conflict), it just, wasn’t for me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is complicated because I enjoyed the fact that this was a retelling of a romcom movie I used to watch, Sixteen Candles, but the characters in this story were simply boring. You might like it because of the possessive mmc, insta love, and smut, which I know you do, but they were just... BORING.

This is my first book by Vanessa Vale and it won’t be my last! I loved every minute of this and devoured it, no crumbs. When Bridget accidentally emails her boss/ CEO Maverick a sex quiz that was intended for her bestie, it sounds like it would be the end of the world. Instead, he’s already obsessed with her and wants to fulfill her every desire 😍

SO GOOD. Little bit of Insta love/ Insta lust but I love it anyways. They were so good together and Bridget grows in their relationship.

I will say, I didn’t love the audio of this one. It was fine but sometimes the MMCs dirty talk sounded a bit like a grocery list being read off. I wanted the growly duet narration on this one, but it was not horrible!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and immediately buying the rest of the series! Thanks to @valentine_pr_ for the audio code ❤️

this is an insta-lust/love small town, age gap, workplace romance

bridget spills her coffee on a very attractive older man who later turns out to be her boss. she also accidentally emails said boss a sex quiz her best friend asked her to fill out.

this was a super quick read, and it read kind of like a longer jessa kane novella in a good way. there’s no real plot, just that her billionaire boss is in love with her and trying to win her over but it was hot and i’d recommend if you just want a quick read that’s vibes only.

it doesn’t have daddy shmink like jessa kane but it has a lot of i’m so huge and she’s so tiny like her novellas so if you like that, def read this but if you don’t, avoid this one.

Man Hunt was a cute and steamy insta-love story about an introvert who accidentally sends a sex questionnaire to her boss's boss (Maverick) Sixteen Candles style. Luckily for her, this billionaire boss decides that Bridget's beauty and brains is exactly what he wants.

Maverick is big (I kept imagining Rip for some reason - IYKYK), older, and has some serious Daddy vibes. Bridget is spunky and sweet and the two of them had a lot of chemistry. There was a little angst in here that kept me entertained and whole lot of sexy to keep me reading. Enjoyed this!

Bridget spills coffee ☕️ on Maverick… he’s into her from
There on… later she finds out he’s her big boss…literally and figuratively. She’s a math genius, he’s a billionaire hotel owner. This is a fast moving, he falls first story. A little angst at 80 percent which was kind of silly considering how well the communicated throughout the book.. too much time on that and not enough on the hea… also hate epilogue’s that are the setup for next book and literally have nothing to do With the current mcs. This book was so Refreshing though so I won’t hold it against the stars….

Holy hell, first book in this series and I was hooked from the beginning.

Bridget, returned to her hometown after being accused of something during her last few months of college. She now works as an assistant for the manager at a construction site and is also freakishly good at math. This h, does all the work but gets zero credit, that all changes when she meets her bosses boss, Maverick James.

Maverick, goes to Hunter Valley, because not only is the construction of the Inn his company wants to open up, being delayed but the budget is going over and as the CEO of his company, he needs to deal with it. During his visit he sees how the project manager behaves with his employees and he meets the woman who has him falling!!!

Bridget and Mav give into their intense chemistry, steamy as hell moments, age gap and one freaken dirty talking hero!!!

This 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 a 5 star rating for me, but I did have a few issues with it, one being the H not telling the h what was going on quick enough, the second, what happened with the professor and lastly what the hell did the h want to do career wise?
