Lady Tigers host first ever Flag Football Frenzy March 13-15

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville University's Flag Football team hosts their inaugural Flag Football Frenzy next week on March 13th through the 15th. The Reinhardt University Eagles, the Thomas University Night Hawks, the Cottey College Comets, the Warner University Royals, and the Webber International University Warriors will all play one another across the three days at Finley Stadium.

The Lady Tigers are 1-3 in their first season, coming off an historic 6-0 win over Bryant & Stratton College. The Warriors are in their third year of their program with a 20-16 three year record. This is the second season of play for the Night Hawks, having gone 18-2 in 2022 and are, as of yet, undefeated sitting at 3-0 in 2023. The Royals are 12-8 in their three seasons of competitive action. Along with the Lady Tigers, the Comets (1-0) and Eagles (0-2) are both in their first years of competition.

In 2020, the start of NAIA Women's Flag Football was a joint effort with the NAIA and the National Football League (NFL). It happened quickly within the NAIA and member institutions were apt to pledge their schools to become among the first to begin a team at their institution. That high level of interest allowed the NAIA governing bodies to grant the sport emerging status a couple of years ago, which put it on track to continue to grow toward becoming a full championship sport over the course of the next few years.
