Stephenson-Moore Selected to CAA All-Conference Team

RICHMOND, Va. – As the Seawolves prepare for their first-ever appearance in the CAA postseason, one member of the Stony Brook University men's basketball team earned All-Conference honors as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Senior guard Tyler Stephenson-Moore was tabbed to the All-Conference Third Team, becoming the first student-athlete in program history to take home a CAA All-Conference award.

Stephenson-Moore's breakout 2022-23 campaign not only earned him a spot amongst the league's top players but as well as amongst the best players in the NCAA. The captain has taken on a much larger role this season than in season past, almost never coming off the floor. Stephenson-Moore has played 40 or more minutes in 10 games and averages the fourth-most minutes per game in the entire NCAA.

The Jamaica, N.Y. native has doubled his scoring total from last season and has finished in double figures 21 times throughout the 2022-23 campaign, currently averaging a team-leading 14.5 points per game. His prowess was displayed no better than at the Battle of Long Island on Feb. 18, when he dropped a career high 27 points on 12-of-21 shooting from the field against the Hofstra Pride.

No. 10 Stony Brook will take on No. 7 North Carolina A&T in the first round of the CAA Championships on Saturday, March 4, at 6 p.m. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. The game will be broadcast  live on FloHoops.
