Oxygen generator for industries

Air is a mixture of several gases where oxygen is present in 20.94 percent by volume and 23 percent by weight. Oxygen is odorless, tasteless, colorless and highly reactive. As oxygen has oxidizing properties, it is highly reactive with inflammable material letting out heat in the process. Oxygen has a low boiling point of -183 degrees Celsius. Also, O2 is near about 1.1 times heavier than air, water as well as alcohol. The exceeding reactive material: O2, becomes pale blue liquid below its boiling point.

Oxygen generators are used in different industries to commercially produce oxygen in large quantities of purity up to 99.7 percent by the cryogenic distillation process. In these on-site plants, oxygen can also be produced in lower purity levels using adsorption technologies such as Vacuum Pressure Swing adsorption (VSA or VPSA) or pressure swing adsorption (PSA). Oxygen is used in industries in a widespread way because of its exceedingly reactive characteristic. Industries use oxygen generators for applications like welding, cutting of steel and steel processing.

Oxygen generators are widely used especially in the steel industry because it is one of the largest consumers of commercially produced oxygen. More than 50 percent of artificially produced oxygen is used in the manufacturing of steel. Oxygen is also used to enrich air and enhance the temperature in the blast and open-hearth furnaces. There are numerous other benefits of using oxygen in the industrial processes. Oxygen enriched air results in increased reaction rates.

When the usage of plain air and O2 enriched air is compared, the latter saves a lot of energy. Using artificially produced oxygen also reduces the amount of fuel that is required to fabricate a product. But, to generate artificial oxygen for any industrial use, it is necessary to choose a reliable on-site plant manufacturer and supplier.

MVS Oxygen generators are suitable for applications like acetylene in gas welding, flame hardening, flame straightening, flame cleaning, and gas cutting.
