Man fighting for life after being ‘shoved down stairs’ at Haymarket in Edinburgh as 35-year-old charged with murder bid
A MAN is fighting for his life after allegedly being shoved down the stairs at a train station in Edinburgh last night.
The 58-year-old was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Police raced to Haymarket Station just before 10pm last night following reports of a rammy.
Another man, 32, was also allegedly attacked on platform two and suffered facial injuries.
Cops arrested a 35-year-old man and charged him with attempted murder and assault.

He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
Cops are probing the alleged incident and are calling on any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Inspector Brian McAleese from British Transport Police said: “We believe a verbal altercation took place between three men on the stairs between platform two and three.
"This resulted in one of the men being pushed down the stairs and another assaulted”.
“Thankfully officers were quickly on scene and a 35-year-old man was arrested.
