Love After Midnight #4

Sex On The Seats

Rate this book
I didn’t know what I was doing in a bar at midnight.

On a weeknight.

Certainly not sleeping, even though I had to work the next day. Definitely not open to talking with anyone, or trying to pick up a date.

Surely... not paying the least bit of attention to the beautiful bartender with gorgeous hazel eyes and a body built for sin. He’d flash a smile and the women around him melted. He’d chuckle and even I wasn’t immune to the silken way it slid down my spine. And I was singular. I didn’t pay attention to men (and yes, I said that as a filthy, four-letter word).

I existed by myself. For myself.

It was safer that way.

Then... he talked to me. Then... he flashed that smile my way.

Then he made me want a stranger more than I wanted my careful distance.

Oh. Hell.

Universal

Archer's smitten with the gorgeous woman sitting by herself at his bar. Somehow he manages to convince her to spend a night with him and has his mind blown. Then she sneaks out and she thinks that's one and done. She didn't count on his persistence. Or his absolute sweet determination. She definitely didn't count on giving her heart to the beautiful bartender.

Archer hasn't had it easy either, and he recognizes that same quality in Dominique. So he knows wooing her won't be easy. But he just knows she's worth it. He wants more than a night and he's determined to get it. He'll go gently but surely, because he is coming for her heart, not just her body.

I've been loving this series, this whole cast of people who made themselves into their own family, and Dominique and Archer just made me fall more in love with the whole series. There's something so sweet about both of them. Perhaps it's their individual vulnerabilities or insecurities but who have strength they perhaps don't even realize they possess. Of course the heat is there, as always, and the heart, but the heart is even more extra this time around.

Sex On The Seats, by Elise Faber. Well I am perfectly pleased at having read this book. At first the tile of the book lead my mind to other places, but after reading this love story I swooning head over heels for Archer. Niki and Archer are the most sweetest and cute couple. It was an absolute joy to read this story.
The book was so romantic in so many ways. The story was written so beautiful. I had a smile on my face. I couldn’t stop smiling even after I finished the book. The love that Niki and Archer has for one another is quite touching.
I like that the writer didn’t bring to much drama to couple. I really liked that the author had the couple share their private lives each other. The bonding moments through the book felt so real. The bedroom scenes are to die for. I mean those scenes had me fanning myself.
I was also happy that the writer gave almost details step by step of what the couple was doing. Thank you for that. I can only say, it was hot! Until next time my fellow readers... read on!

I've read a few of Ms. Faber's books in the past and found each an enjoyable read with appealing characters and steamy encounters. Her latest book is yet another satisfying story introducing readers to two very likable characters, with mutually painful pasts, whose scorching one night stand ultimately leads to something more. Along the way to HEA is a lot of push/pull courtesy of Dominique and her bruised psyche, a lot of wooing being done by the delicious Archer, all of which made for a sweet romance that made me smile as well as blush.

Not having read the previous books in the Love After Midnight series I was worried I'd be missing out on something here, but this book stands strongly on its own with a storyline that's familiar but satisfying. Sparks fly the moment bartender Archer sees the quiet but captivating Dominique at the end of the bar with even more sparks flying after their unforgettable night together...a night she wants to forget while he continually tempts her with more. This is a perfectly imperfect couple with her having self-esteem issues from a past that weighs on her still, while he too is working through the pain of his past. These two become the healing balm the other needs though in a slow-burn romance that showed just how patient Archer could be when going after something he really wanted...and he made it more than obvious just how much he wanted Dominique. From start to finish this was a quick read full of fun and flirty banter and scorching encounters. It had a virtually angst-free flow too that took me away from all the stressors of life for a few hours and is a story (and author) that I definitely recommend!

Dominique is accustomed to having to people look at her and find her lacking. So she's surprised that her one night stand seems not to want to disappear into the woodwork, which is where she'd really like him to be. But as their connection deepens, she begins to wonder if someone like her could actually be finally happy.

Dominique and Archer are a couple you will love. Dominque for her fierce pride and independence, and Archer for his quiet and steadfast determination to make space for Nikki so that she doesn't have any misgivings about where she stands with him.

I love Elise Faber's writing. It's emotive and I always feel like I actually feel and fully understand what's going on in her characters' heads. She always makes taking a chance on love seem awesomely easy. Give Dominique and Archer a try. They'll rub off on you as easily as they did on me.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Not rating this book cuz :X I did kinda end up low key read/skimming it cuz it was cute and all - super growly grouchy heroine and really lovely hero who had a lot of baggage/shit but is the point where he's MOSTLY worked past it - but ... like ... omg it got REALLY repetitive and ...
I get the whole EF thing is "heroine who is a mess and hero who is warm and loving and lets her see how awesome she is" - and ... it just didn't quite work as much here?
... I know book 1 annoyed me [more] but :X at least I read it through and never felt the urge to skim?

Also there were some random ~jumpy bits that kinda felt shoe horned in.
Just not my favorite EF; doesn't help I skipped books 2-3 cuz :X based on the premise I was like "ehhhhh" but :X we'll see.

There were definitely parts that were lovely and warm and romantic and sexy though.

Not mad I read it at all, but .... definitely wouldn't be my first choice for an EF re-read.

Imperfectly Perfect

Archer took a chance with Dominique and he is determined to win her over.  She is happily not looking for romance after circumstances in her past had turned her off to love.  These two clashing hearts are in it to prove that people can change and everyone can find that one person who is imperfectly perfect for them.

I was able to understand who each of the secondary characters were and how they fit into the main characters lives.  This was another big selling point.  Elise Faber brings the laughter and the heat.

This is my first read by Elise, and I wasn't disappointed.  Every page of Dominique and Archer's banter had me in stitches.  They seemed real to me, real drama, real laughter and real life.

Dominique is drinking at the bar way to late and alone. She isn’t looking for a date or a man at all but something about Archer makes her want to break her rules. One night, she doesn’t share her name and she is gone before the sun. The perfect one night stand how could that possibly go wrong?

I am new to Elise Faber I think this is just the 2nd book of hers I have read so looking forward to reading more. Archer and Nikki are fun with plenty of steam. Both have been hurt by their pasts but somehow these wonderful characters find a way to turn their budding friendship into something so much sweeter. You will laugh and fall just a little bit in love with Archer. Guess I need to grab the previous books in this series and really get to know the rest of group.

Sex on the Seats by Elise Faber is the 4th book in the Love After Midnight series. This is Dominique and Archer's story. They meet when she decides to go out late to a bar one night. It's there that she meets Archer and ends up having a one night stand. He wants more but she doesn't and ends up sneaking out after an amazing time she had with him. Archer knows that he will have to show her with action and words that they are meant to be. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot 🔥and the plot moves at a good pace. Dominique's past and her insecurities were explained in a realistic way that added to the story. Archer and Dominique made a great couple. Makes for a fabulous romance read!

Sex on the seats, book four in the new Love after Midnight series follows bartender Archer, and Hayden’s boss Dominique. When Dominique spends a night at Bobby’s bar, she never expected to be drinking a fruity drink while openly staring at the hot bartender working behind the bar. Dominique is used to people looking at her and then being dismissed but when Archer keeps coming back for more, she begins to question everything she thought in the past. Archer and Dominique both have troubled past’s that they would prefer to leave behind, and when they are together, life seems to balance out the negatives. Will Archer be able to get Dominique to let him in? Or will Dominique’s fear that she’s not good enough keep them apart?

This is the 4th book in this amazing series and is Archer and Dominique’s story. Dominique is not looking for relationships due to her past, and when she is sitting in a bar having a drink, she is eying up the sexy bartender. Archer is the sexy bartender, and he is intrigued by her, and they end up having a one-night stand, with her leaving early and with no name given. This is a well written story which has realistic characters with undeniable chemistry, and is filled with witty banter, fun, and drama, which all leads to a humorous, steamy, and entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Having been burnt by love when Dominique stopped in at the bar all she was looking for a drink. She certainly wasn’t expecting the chemistry and connection she would feel for Archer, the sexy bartender, and she definitely wasn’t planning on spending the night with him.

Archer was disappointed when he woke up alone and realized that one night was not enough. He is determined to track down the elusive beauty and convince her that what they shared was a beginning and not the end.

The chemistry between them was undeniable but it was the way that Archer was so supportive and patient that made them perfect for each other.

I really enjoyed this story, like all of the stories I have read by Elise Faber so far. Dominique did not want to get into a relationship. She was at a bar with a really hot bartender and things happened and they had a one night stand together. After, she left in the morning without even giving her name. And that was it.....or was it? I really enjoyed reading about the hot and sexy chemistry between these characters and the drama that they went through. this story was funny, sexy, and also romantic Another great story from Elise Faber. A definite recommended read. I received a review copy of this story and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

I love Dominique and Archer. They have great chemistry. Their attraction is off the charts.

Archer works in a bar. One night he sees a woman sitting at the end of the bar. Archer is on a mission to get to know her better. Dominique doesn't do relationships. Dominique likes not sex and no strings attached. When Dominique meets Archer, all that changes. Will Dominique and Archer have a relationship? Can Archer break down Dominique's walls so she can see that Archer loved her?

This is my first book by Elise Faber. I loved this book. Great story line filled with love, romance and all the feels. I recommend you read this book.

Archer and Dominique

Archer is bartending when he sees Dominique sitting by herself and glaring at him. He brings her a drink and they have instant chemistry and fun banter. A one-night stand that ensues but both want more. However her insecurities and past have her running before morning and he doesn't see for awhile.

Archer is determined to show her, his Niki, she is everything and he will do what he needs to. Niki just wants more of him anyway she can get him, mainly one-night ongoing stands, but her heart is falling and she is scared.

Will Archer be the one to break thorough?

There was something very engaging about the beautiful woman sitting at the end of the bar and Archer was determined to get to know her. But Dominique doesn't do relationships and after the best sex of her life, she sneaks out of his apartment, without even telling him her name. Which is a brilliant plan, if you don't drop your wallet with your ID in it. But Archer knows that if he wants the long game, he will have to be strategic and not overwhelm Dominique. Great story, love, romance, all the feels and of the charts hotness. Love.

Either be hockey, suspence or sweet romance, Elise Faber is turning me into a HUGE fan.

I absolutely loved this story - it had me smiling from start to finish, connecting with both Archer and Nikki. Both have difficult pasts and just needed to find that one person who would keep demons at bay. Together they mad perfect sense and I loved the patience of Archer letting Nikki catch up on how well they were together at her own pace.

Overall If you're looking for a quick, quirky and sweet love story this one is definitely for you.

This book starts off with a bang, and the momentum keeps up through out the whole story. Dominique is pretty closed off to new people/relationships and she meets Archer one night at a bar. While she has no intention of starting things up, as you know, sometimes things can’t be helped.

This story is smokin’ hot and progresses at a good speed. You get a real feel for Niki and Archer as well as their past hurts and hang ups. My favorite Elise Faber book to date.

Sex on the Seats by Elise Faber is book 4 in the Love After Midnight Series. This is the story of Archer and Dominique. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Archer and Dominique meet when she goes to a bar late at night. They end up having a one night stand because that is all Dominique thinks she wants. Of course Archer see something in her that he would like to explore. But the next morning she sneaks out thinking she had her one night but of course those one night stands somehow come back to haunt you. Enjoyed their story.

This was a steamy fun read. Dominique (or Niki as Archer liked to call her) was so wrapped up in her life, running from her family as well as hiding from life, that she was unprepared for Archer. She was independent but was willing to accept the self-realizations that came to her. Archer was so driven that he knew what he wanted as soon as he saw Dominique. I loved the getting-to-know-you interactions as well as the hot scenes between these two. I recommend this story.

I received a copy of this story through Elle Wood Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

I’m a big fan of the Love After Midnight series and Sex On The Seats was fantastic!
I loved Dominique and Archer’s story. Their attraction was instant and they had great chemistry. What was supposed to be a one night stand, turned into so much more! I enjoyed their entertaining banter. Dominique doesn’t do relationships so Archer has to convince her to give him a chance. Sex On The Seats is a great love story with all the feels and hot, steamy sexiness! Once again Elise has written another fantastic book in the Love After Midnight series!

Sex On The Seats
A chance meeting in a bar. A misheard phrase spoken by the bartender to the young woman sitting at the bar! He offered to make her a Sex On The Beach and she thought he said Sex On The Seats! And her imagination was off and running with the visions of sex with the hunky bartender right there in the bar! Dominique’s uncertainties kicked in and she decided to run. But Archer wouldn’t let her!
An intriguing love story of two people who have been hurt before, and their hesitation to fall in love again!

I really enjoyed Dominique and Archer’s story!
I haven’t read many of this author’s books but the one I read I loved.
I love that she can combine fun and sexy with heartfelt and emotional, and this one is no different.
Both Archer and Dominique have pasts and insecurities that still affect their present lives. The attraction between them is immediate and they spent a hot night together..but Archer wants more and he is bound and determined to get her to see how great they could be together.
I smiled, laughed and swooned a lot.
Really loved these two!

It took me a little bit to warm up to Dominique, but Archer was a given for me from the start. Dominique, though, was harder, tougher, more battered by life, and this really came out while reading. The chemistry between these two was right up there from the start and I just loved that Archer patiently just went about ignoring all of Niki's 'stay away' signs until he broke through. Loved this couple. I haven't read all of the books in this series, so there were characters that left me wondering, but overall I had no problem since this book focused very much on Archer and Niki.

Sex On The Seats is a red hot read. I loved every moment of Dominque and Archer. There is such snark and strength from Dominque. Archer will make you a little gooey. I love how with all the walls Dominque puts up Archer never stops trying to break through them. They are so hot together from the very beginning. You feel for Dominque as you find out about her family life and why she is the way she is. I could not get enough of this one.

Dominique and Archer meet when he is bar tending and she is having a drink after a meeting. Archer is enamored and Dominique is interested but not going there, until they do. Dominique is very scared of getting involved as she is just getting her life put back together. One could say the same is true for Archer but he is enamored. The relationship between these two is so fun! The banter and negotiating is funny and they just GET one another. Fun read, more great characters!

Elise Faber is a relatively new author for me and I have really enjoyed her books and Sex on the Seats is no exception. It is a fun, steamy romance with characters that are easy to like and a storyline that will keep you completely engaged.
I really enjoyed the dynamics at play between Dominque and Archer. They had instant chemistry but Archer had a little bit of work ahead of him to convince Dominque(Nikki) that he was worth taking a chance on and that she was worth being loved.

This is such a good book. I just gobbled this right up. I couldn't out it down. I loved Archer and Dominique. I liked their playful banter with one another. Archer had me won over by accepting Dominique for her and making her feel worthy just as she is. I liked seeing of of my favorites from pervious books. This book was a light, make you feel good story that had the right of steam. Archer and Dominique had such great chemistry enough to tell they had a connection. It's a must read!

I love Ms. faber’s writing but I am not a fan of one night stands and casual hookups and, when it appeared that this story would be heading down that particular road, I almost put the book down. However, I am so happy I didn’t because I ended up really enjoying Niki and Archer’s story. They were complicated characters with some challenges to overcome but, in the end, they, and especially Niki, were willing to open up and love each other. I happily and voluntarily reviewed this book.
