Grab Company Ltd. (Grab Vietnam) and ZaloPay E-wallet have on Monday officially announced their collaboration to launch ZaloPay on the Grab app.

Both parties said in a statement that payment via ZaloPay is now available for almost all Grab app services, including transport, food and grocery, and parcel delivery.

This is an additional payment method on Grab app, which provides users with both cash payment and cashless solutions such as Moca E-wallet and passthrough via linked cards.

According to the statement, both Grab and ZaloPay have their own ecosystems. Grab is a leading superapp connecting customers with a wide range of everyday services, including transport, delivery, and financial services.

ZaloPay, meanwhile, is known as a ‘national e-wallet’, a payment platform with a variety of customized features designed to meet the demands of both consumers and businesses.

The partnership enables both parties to elevate user experience by optimizing their cashless payment features to better serve consumers with everyday essential services.

“Being able to connect with various payment methods through Moca and ZaloPay, Grab is offering users multi payment options, along with added benefits,” said Nguyen Thi My Hanh, the Deputy Country Head of Grab Vietnam.

Furthermore, she said this partnership marks a new milestone for both Grab and ZaloPay where the two leading platforms in Vietnam work closely together to leverage the strengths of both ecosystems, sharing financial and technological capabilities and insights into user experience in order to drive sustainable growth.

“We appreciate ZaloPay’s team efforts on integrating the two ecosystems. Looking forward, we will, no doubt, continue to join forces to bring cashless payment to a new height,” she added.

According to the statement, the partnership creates more favorable conditions for Grab and ZaloPay to gain access to large consumer bases of each other and share experiences to improve their services.

This also represents the two parties’ great efforts to promote cashless payment in Vietnam.

“The partnership between ZaloPay and Grab Vietnam is a landmark of 2023 in our journey to engender a cashless world,” said Le Lan Chi, the Chief Executive Officer of ZaloPay.

“By leveraging human and technological resources of both parties, we will realize our ideas and launch new practical products to better serve consumers with diverse needs in the future,” she said.

According to her, ZaloPay is both an independent application and an e-wallet integrated into the Zalo chat platform.

“The distinct and user-friendly approach enables ZaloPay to reach a diverse customer base not limited to those who are familiar with using apps. This allows Grab users as well as other consumers to enjoy seamless cashless payment,” she added.
