Lordy, this book was disappointing after the first two (man hunt and man candy). And I was so excited to read it 😔

It was funny…..but it lacked the romance and falling in love that I need for a five star read

So Theo is mav, Dex and Silas brother. He used to be a trauma surgeon but he switched to being a general practitioner in small town hunter valley. The h (I literally can’t remember her name and I just read this 🤷‍♀️🤣🤦‍♀️) is a first grade teacher who wants to get a lot of sex because she had a two pump chump in high school at 16. She goes in for an annual but instead of the female dr she usually sees, Theo comes in and doesn’t want to do her exam because he can’t treat her as a patient due to his raging hard dick.

She’s set up to go on a date with a high school history teacher by her bestie but Theo finds out that his patient who came in with a std before her is her date. He goes there and he fingers her in the parking lot and she’s horny and tom the history teacher ran out….but she was willing to fuck him because he wasn’t Theo hot but she needed some dick.

She goes to Vegas for a bachelorette party and when a hot guy asks for her if she’d be willing to take $100, she’s joking around and says she worth $1000! And then gets arrested for prostitution. So she was going to just have sex with this undercover cop even though she wanted to be with Theo? How horny is this girl?

She has mommy issues where her mom mooches off of her and takes her money for rent, food, car repairs, everything and she just hands it over to her. Wtf. So when Theo buys her a house to take care of her, she sees it as payment for all the sex they’ve been having.

So the thing that annoyed me so much about this book is that Theo only sees this as a 6 pm sex appointment. They barely kiss, talk, or anything except for having sex. And when the old lady receptionist asks what’s going on with them, he says it’s nothing and she hears it. Seriously? Then he wises up and realizes he loves her after he talks to his brother and all ends well. Da fuck. What is that?

I’m super disappointed with this book 😒😔🥸

DNF @ 25% - holy gawd this girl is horny. 😵‍💫😵‍💫 All her thoughts are about her wet vagina. And all of the hero’s thoughts are about his raging boner and her wet vagina. These are grown people. A school teacher and a doctor. Y’all don’t have ANYTHING else going through your minds??

I’m good. 👌🏻

I didn’t think anything could top the previous book’s hilarity and in the first chapter itself I was proven wrong.

God, this book was funny. What I loved the most was heroine Mallory. She was equal parts sweet- caring and vulnerable. And she was wild. Complete opposite to stoic, uptight, boring Doctor Theo.
Their relationship starts kinda like acquaintance with benefits and they set the pages on fire. I loved all the secondary characters too. Some of the scenes had me snorting and laughing so hard.

If you love medium angst, hot, small town romance with lovely protagonists and a variety of secondary characters (and their antics) then I highly recommend this.
Very easy to read, safe and enjoyable.

P.s did I mention it’s hot?

I received an advance review copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

3.5 Dirty Dick Stars ⭐️
Spicy Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

So this one was OK, it was not as good as Man Candy but it was a little bit better than Man Hunt.

This follows Mallory's story with Theo and I was so excited that she was finally going to get her time in the spotlight! She's been an amazing side character to Bridge and Lindy in the previous two books, being their cheerleader whilst they found love and happiness...and it was about time that our girl found some too.

What I didn't expect was for her backstory to be so heartbreaking. All I wanted was to let her know she was loved and deserved love and no gaslighting POS mother was worth bringing herself down. She puts on a brave face, is a literal ray of sunshine and smiles. She has the biggest heart, is generous and kind and deserves so much...

Theo needs a good slap of some sense. Theo walks in on her mid-gyne exam as he is the new Family Doctor in town, learns waaaaay too much about her sex life - is unable to look at her hoo-ha and then realises that he cant stop thinking about her, hasn't been able to stop thinking about her - and proceeds to sport a hardon and blue balls the entire day for the little innocent teacher. Saving her from a date with a history teacher (and History Teachers STD Penis) he decides to teach little missy about sex, because she is SOOOO KEEN on finally getting some. THE MAN IS NEXT to the definition of grumpy in the dictionary, if you replaced him in the 7 dwarfs no one would know the difference and nothing he does is what Mallory needs for love... AND HE DOESN'T TALK TO HER - every encounter the two have ended with some part of his body inside her. There was no romance just sex...he treated her like a call girl and was shocked when she didn't want him to buy her things.

Now why I didn't like this as much was because the damn lack of miscommunication and lack of communication going on in these pages was annoying...

Mallory and Theo have different love languages, hers is doing acts of service and his is buying gifts - people with these love languages can work, and have worked for many but you have to explain and talk about what you need. You can not proceed to buy things for a person who HATES HJANDOUTS and what they represent, for a person who wants to work and earn what she has because she EARNED IT. SHE DOES NOT WANT GIFTS! If they had just spoken to each other and Theo got his head out of his ass - they would have avoided a whole lot of drama...

The communication was not only an issue with Theo, it was also with Bridge and Lindy. Bridge knew about her and Theo and SAID NOTHING! Mallory could have talked to Bridge and Lindy about her issues and she chose not to and shoulder it on her own. Now I get a woman needing to feel independent BUT WHEN ARE PEOPLE GOING TO LEARN ASKING FOR HELP DOES NOT MAKE YOU WEAK!?!?!?!

The smut was sexy - in fact it was the spiciest of the three I have read and because these carry on aspects of the plot from the previous books and it's cute to see Mallory finally getting her HEA I generally enjoyed it. There are aspects I wish were explored more from a relationship point as Mal knew she loved Theo and he took forever, switched instantly and that was it - the end...

I also love that Mallory made some new call-girl friends in this because our girl is amazing!

Trope Summary:
▶ Dual POV
▶ Almost Virgin FMC
▶ Grumpy X Sunshine
▶ Age Gap
▶ Small Town
▶ Doctor X First Grade Teacher
▶ Use Me for Sex (Who would have known this is a trope but I have seen it twice now and I LOVE IT)

Overall like with the previous books I stand by...just read this series - it's fast and enjoyable and I am eating them up!

Theo, hands down, is my favorite James brother. I'm such a slore for broody, unfeeling men who then catch feelings for the sunny, sweet girl and have no idea what to do...it's my f*cking catnip. Theo knew he needed a change from his all-consuming life of being a trauma doctor and decides to move to Hunter Valley since his other brothers found happiness here...enter, Mallory! The fun, quirky first grade teacher who wants to get laid and Theo offers to show her the ropes. Theo's dirty talk is on-point, Mallory is hilarious and finds friends everywhere (even high-class escorts in Vegas, but they have to move on from serious childhood trauma and realize they're both getting in the way of their own happiness.

Least favorite in the series. It was fun and quick but the plot wasn’t enough for me. I felt like it could’ve went deeper with Mallory’s family issues and I just couldn’t feel their connection since it seemed like all they cared about was the sex.

This one was just ok for me. Man Candy is still my favorite.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: friends with benefits
Angst: 😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Cute addition to the On A Manhunt Series by Vanessa Vale. Mallory, a 24 year old, practically still a virgin attempts to get herself "properly" de-flowered (after her first fiasco) when a man that she's been crushing on steps up to the task of the "friends with benefits" role. As long as no one is going to catch feelings, everything will be fine, right? Mallory and Theo's story had some great laugh out loud moments, but it definitely wasn't my favorite in the series. I love me a MMC who is "oblivious" about his feelings, but this was definitely next level and it made me struggle with their chemistry a bit 🤷🏻‍♀️. Still a fun, smexy read and I'll most certainly be gobbling up Man Splain when it comes out!

For me, Vanessa Vale's books are the perfect thing to read when you just need some lighthearted fun. While there can still be some heavier moments in her books, there is always some fun moments right behind to balance it all out.

Mallory is 24 and little, well, inexperienced and when Theo finds out, he makes it his mission to be the one to enlighten her. There's only one problem, while she's been crushing on him for the last six months, he is 100% not interested in feelings. This is just meant to be a good time between to consenting adults. Of course, things change along the way and that crush is way more than a crush now. But are things changing for Theo at all?

I absolutely loved Mallory throughout this whole book. I love that she wasn't ashamed of herself at any point and I love that in the end she stood up for herself and exactly what she both wanted and need, not just with Theo, but with her family as well. She was such a fun character. As for Theo, I honestly loved his obliviousness to his feelings and actions when it came to Mallory. I don't want to spoil anything there, so that is all I will say, but he was a total sweetheart without trying at all. And of course, if you want spice, Vanessa Vale knows how to write it.

A truly wonderful time and a book I would recommend to anyone who enjoys the following.

✔️ Age Gap (12 Years)
✔️ Grumpy/Sunshine
✔️ Bed First, Feelings Later
✔️ Doctor Hero
✔️ Billionaire
✔️ Small Town
✔️ First Person Dual POV

Every time a new book in the series comes out, I dive straight in. Those series became one of my favorites.

I've liked Malory since Lindy and Dex's book. She is shy and doesn't have a lot of experience with men. This resulted in her deciding that enough is enough and that she wants to start dating men. In a chance encounter, so to speak, and funny moments, Teo was the one to help her with the task. And how he helped her—OMG, it was so sexy.

The tension and the heat between them were everywhere—the steam, the sexy scenes - and I was all in. But at one point, she wanted something more. I know that Teo had some commitment issues, and it did take a while for him to realize that she was the one. When that happened, I really swooned. I just wish that he tried a bit more when making her his completely.

Overall, I loved this book ♥️♥️♥️.

This was widely entertaining, slightly ridiculous and SO hot😮‍💨🥵. All around a really fun time.

Theo is probably the biggest dick out of all his brothers. And Mal is the sunshine one. Put them together and you have banter, sex, plot, sex, sex, sex and more sex.

I really liked Mallory! She was sweet, funny, and so relatable. Theo was a dick and needed to grovel more but him and mal did have some good chemistry.

Vanessa Vale books always hit the spot and are always so fun to read because of the outlandish plot and POSSESSIVE heros. It’s like if jessa Kane wrote full length novels.

I’m interested to see how Silas story goes because we haven’t heard much about him😭.

Thanks Vanessa Vale for the ARC🫶🏼

This was all over the place. The grammatical, spelling, and just full on wrong word errors continued with gusto in this book. One chapter, the author wrote the entirely wrong character’s name, so it sounded as if the narrator was talking to herself and not her best friend. The spice was fine, some moments were funny, but it was mostly just confusing.

There was a lot going on in this book but it also felt like nothing happened in these 337 pages.

Ugh. What a bummer.

Tropes / Vibes:
smalltown
Age gap,
Inexperienced FMC
grumpy/sunshine

This was a fun addition to the On a Manhunt Series! I originally started this last year and little bored - probably cause I had binged the first two books and was a little over the small town insta lust vibes going on - so decided to shelve it for later.

When I picked it back up a was instantly addicted again - Instalove be damned! all I want right now is smutty small-town romance and that's exactly what I got - man did it deliver on that.

The story was a little predictable and the characters didn't have much depth but honestly, who cares, It was a cute, quick, spicy read. that was a hell of a good time once I got into it!

Theo James was insanely hot, possessive, and broody. I loved him! and obviously all I could picture while reading was the actual Theo James which made it sooo much better. Mallory was Quirky in a cute way, and even though most of her thoughts through out the book were sex-related, I enjoyed her character. She was a little chaotic at times honestly aren't we all?

The plot of this was a little ridiculous at times and about 60% smut but I'm here for it! No complaints from me, I was entertained for sure!

Can't wait to read Silas's book next!

DNF @33%

I was given Man Cave as an ARC from Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.

Prior to reading this book I had not read the On A Manhunt series, so I decided to read Man Hunt and Man Candy prior to this one. However, after DNFing Man Hunt about 50% of the way through, I decided to skip Man Candy and give this one a try, so that I could review it for Valentine PR. Unfortunately, I could not get through it and stopped at 33%.

These books are just not for me. I am not someone who needs intense world building or plot or anything like that (especially when a book is supposed to be spice based), but this had the minimum amount of plot required to be called a book. The spice came so quick and was so rushed and it just wasn't something I enjoyed reading.

I would say that this one was slightly better than Man Hunt because at the very least the FMC and the MMC knew each other prior (from the past books), but the spice was just not it for me. I find the male main characters in this series to be cringy and not "alpha" or sexy. There is no build up or sexual tension and it just dives right in. There is also minimal character development so its hard to get into the book.

I really wanted to like this series because these books are short, the chapters are digestible and the covers are so cute, but I just could not do it :(

This is the third book in this series of interconnected standalone’s, I think they’re best read in order. I have enjoyed them all so much. The characters are a mix of siblings and close friends and most characters appear in each book.
This story is hilarious from beginning to the end. It’s such a unique blend of bawdy humor, romance, quirky characters and wild situations. And it’s so incredibly HOT and sexy!! I’m in love with this style, series and characters.
It’s such fun, sexy, laugh out loud entertainment!
Mallory is a mixture of sweet and seemingly innocent and she’s also bold, direct and boisterous. I LOVE her! Such a great character who doesn’t fit in a neat little box.
Theo is a buttoned up, serious doctor who also happens to be a fantastic dirty talker and super sexy guy with a delightful naughty side. He’s more than the grumpy doctor that he appears to be.
I love their interactions so much, they are absolutely adorable in the most fun ways. Plus they bring the heat and fire. It’s a super sexy and fun relationship. Friends with benefits and maybe more?

This series just keeps on getting better and better! Seriously, if you’re looking for an interconnected series about brothers with daddy issues who all end up falling in love in the same small town then these should be on your TBR. Theo is an emotionally detached doctor who needs to loosen up and as soon as he sets his sight on Mallory and learns that she’s looking to get some more…experience…he basically jumps at the chance. This is a total fling turns to forever with lots of steamy goodness involved. They might also have the cops called on them…I’ll be counting the days for Man Splain, let me tell ya!

Actual Rating: 2.5 ⭐

This is my first Vanessa Vale book and it won't be the last. It was quick, funny, with a lot of heat. There were some slightly heavy topics, but it was lightened up with the funny moments, which I love in romance books.

Mallory and Theo's connection was more physical than emotional. I didn't quite understand how they got to the point of "falling in love" when there really was nothing that led me to believe they gradually fell in love. I needed more romantic moments between them to be convinced. There was a lot of physical connection, but it lacked the romantic chemistry I look for in romance. This just didn't do that for me. It just seemed like they were two horny high schooler's thinking and wanting sex all the time. In the beginning I was all for it, but then it got annoying. All I kept thinking was these are two grown adults, a teacher and a doctor, and all you're thinking about is sex?!

Then there's the plot or lack thereof. It just didn't do it for me, it lacked substance and I felt there could've been more to it. I'm not really a plot driven reader, but I need more than just the bare minimum. I also felt like the past trauma for both characters needed to be explored more. I really didn't have a connection to these characters, which is something I like in the books I read. There was minimum character development and stuff seemed rushed. I think it's because the story is solely based on their sexcapades and nothing more. I wanted to know more about Theo's past and needed a bit more from Mallory's family issues. I did like that at some point Mallory did stand up to everyone and that Theo also opened up. I just needed more to feel something for these characters.

Overall, if you're someone that doesn't mind lack of plot and character development and is looking for a quick spicy read then this is for you. I just thought it was okay.

😊What i liked -

✔ Billionaire/Grumpy-Sunshine/Secret Romance/Small Town.
✔ I have loved Mal since the first book. It was an absolute joy to read her story.
✔ Theo is every bit a grumpy Doctor that you can ever come across. (S*xoclock was regimental and funny)
✔ Though i was totally with Mal and her anger but i was melting with how Theo was trying to take care of her in the only way he knew how to.
✔ My favourite part was Mal's first trip to Vegas and her new friend's. (oh god i laughed so hard and plus thanks for the tips too)
✔ It was a fun, cute and swooningly spicy read. I laughed, teared up and swooned throughout the book.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ Uh you can't leave me with no name of Silas's soon to be love.

📚Who Should read :

💝Romance Lover
🤐Secret Romance
💰Billionaire Romance

Happy Release to Man Cave by Vanessa Vale, which is the third book in the On a Manhunt series! This could easily be read as a standalone, but it’s definitely more fun to have a repertoire with the characters from the previous books. So far, I’ve read & enjoyed every book in this series & would recommend this entire series to steamy romance fans.

I was so excited to dive back into this series. The setting of the quaint small town with the adorably nosey neighbors is amazing. It’s giving me major Hart of Dixie vibes if anyone else remembers watching that show because it’s also about a big city surgeon moving to s small town to become their town doctor, except this time the doc is Theo James. Then, there’s also the inexperienced first grade teacher, Mallory, who is looking to dive head first into the dating scene. The forced proximity of the small town creates an unexpected crossing of paths with these two. The journeys that both of them go on individually as well as together is an entertaining story that is easy to devour.

It is a fantastic mix of steamy romance, found family, humor, interesting adventures & one of its’ kind amusing antics. I finished this book in one day & I recommend this to anyone looking to get lost in a love story for a few hours.

I cannot wait to get the next brother’s book & I love all the cameos from the previous books’ main characters in this one.

Massive thanks to the author & Valentine PR for the free arc, which I voluntarily read & reviewed

I adore this series by Vanessa Vale! This is book 3 in the series, but they are all standalone around a group of brothers. I just think they are funny, the banter is always a good time, and the 🌶️ is a delight!

Mallory has crushed on her best friend’s boyfriend’s brother Theo since she first saw his picture. She can’t think about him though, because she is essentially a virgin and needs to get some experience before going after Theo! First, of course- she needs to visit the Dr. for birth control!

Theo is a trauma surgeon who moves to the small town near his family when he realizes he become numb to his serious role. He is now a small town doctor, walking into his first exam of the day and his patient- of course, the beautiful Mallory!

When he finds out she is looking for… experience… he plans to give it to her… at a responsible scheduled time #sexoclock (or 6pm MT to be exact).

✅Possesive but doesn’t know why MMC (love when they don’t realize it’s because they are in love)
✅Billionaire (but she independent.. i don’t get it.. but i respect it😜)
✅Grumpy/Sunshine (Trauma Surgeon/First Grade Teacher👩🏼‍🍳💋)
✅Small Town (everyone knows, but they don’t know we know that they know.. ya know?)
✅More BJ lessons to add to my notebook (these authors out here doing the WORK for us yall!)

Man Cave is the third book in the ‘On A Manhunt’ series but can be read as a standalone.

This small town, age gap, rom com is an easy read and was fun, sexy and I can definitely see myself reading the first two books in this series soon.

Theo and Mal are our grumpy/sunshine, billionaire doctor/struggling school teacher, opposites attract couple. They had an instant physical attraction and when Theo moved to Hunter Valley they had the perfect opportunity to act on said attraction.

I’ll be honest that I am a bit on the fence about this book.
It was fun and definitely didn’t shy away from the steamy scenes but I just didn’t feel the connection between the MCs. There is no denying they had physical chemistry 🔥 but most of the emotional connection was built off page and we were just told about it happening.
Overall a low angst, low drama book with some funny moments (I loved Mal’s female friendships) and what I would consider a ‘palette cleanser’ of a book.
There was potential for a bit more plot wise but overall I did enjoy reading Man Cave.

Oh Doctor Theo you can take my temperature anytime. You might just be my favourite James brother….. although I think I might’ve said that with every book in this series. I loved how uptight he was when he first arrived to set up his practice in Hunter Valley. He really didn’t seem to know how he had ended up there until he walks into his surgery and sets eyes on his first patient, Mallory Mornay! The girl he’s been dreaming about doing dirty things to ever since he first met her months ago. He just didn’t think it would include an internal exam or at least not one of the medical variety. I’ve loved Mallory since she was introduced in the first book. Despite her outward wild and quirky appearance she was relatively inexperienced and practically a virgin but she was fed up of being alone and was determined to have sex so noble man that he is, Theo volunteers to provide his services on a no strings basis. In a steamy romp involving high class Vegas call-girls, false arrests and court appearances with a little angst thrown in due to parental issues on both sides, Man Cave is a quick, fun read and a fantastic addition to the On A Man Hunt series.
