Sharing the "drinking their own champage" perspective on the regularltory aspects of AI -- which the key term for is: Guardrails Three key points: 1. Govenernance is the first thing you do 2. To start small to and trial tools 3. Be Specific about use case Regarding regulatory matters about what's happening in NZ compared to the rest of the world is: We're not as far along as others, however we do have existing laws that cover it. A masterclass in mindset was not a hallucination by the audience as Anna Mowbray ad a fireside Chat with Andre Rowell at the M2 AI Summit. While discussing what is happening with ZEIL an #AI driven job site designed to disrupt the monopolistic nature per country of dominant job boards who haven't evolved since inception bar a few additional features, we learned what Ill say the the Mowbray edge is. Mindset. No surprises there, but we gained a glimpse into some of the life experiences including from her Father's influence with: Powell principle. Dad always drove our curiosity Dad pushed us to not do Uni but to experiment. The 3 things she looks for in a team member - the one i remember now is positive attitude at all times espcially through the tough times ❤️🔨😎 Last point as I will be sharing snippets of the video on Ryan The Lion Productions over the coming weeks including more of the mindset in Anna and Rochelle Moffitt dancing up a storm before she went on stage. TL/DR - AI based tools have dramatically improved efficiency abd accuracy, below is the detail. This is heartwarming tonsee as a primary carer who has seen all the inefficiencies in general across the health system in detail since 2008 Kirti Desai (MInstD) and June McCabe I look forward to hearing more respectively and am excited by what I saw great work across the team at ProCare! Speaker notes: RPA (Robot) Heart Attack Risk Assesment tool: see the flow chart of the first inage - 102 decision to decide heart attack risk level done by the RPA model - A Human Nurse takes 6 mins to do this - Every three of these we get to do another do, a 15 min human consultation - The range of Robots responses from ordering more services to accurately measure the risk of Heart Attack - Doing the work of 3 FTE across multiple practices. - Deploying "the robot" a clinic jumped from 40% measured to 70% measured in a month - The flow on benefits of high risk getting earlier treatment is substantial - This tool helps positively affect the poorest and highest at risk areas that traditionally were under served MRI general Practice programe: - The second photo - The GP MRI programme runs on trust. - We use Machine Learning to review clinical use of MRI to maintain quality (and trust of the funders) - Machine compares referrals with radiology reports and determines whether the referral was good.. - Retrospective clinical governance - Facilitates delegation of responsibilities - Speeds up the system Nabla Copilot: AI powered medical notes: - Not just transcription but converts to true medical note - Most DR didnt train as typists - As a patient you want you DR engaged with you, not the key board AI is not a replacement for understanding your business, it augments your business. #M2AISummit

NZ Tech Innovation is being protected by Māori. Let that sink in. Its something you may not have thought, considering Māori only make up 4.8% of the IT Industry and are largely thought of in other negative contexts before you'd think of innovation and tech. "Because Māori are speaking on behalf of Māori, but the rest of us are benefiting from this lens." Said Aleisha Amohia regarding the work done around Māori Data Sovereignty. "At the moment we're seeing almost a recolonization of Māori data through the importation of a lot of AI algorithms that were built with someone else's worldview. And that in itself presents a risk, a risk around cultural safety" "The rest of the world trust NZ so much, but we don't trust each other" - added Donald Christie. I reflected on that point having recently posted about the NZ Hi-Tech Awards Hall of Fame with Flying Kiwi's which is a list of tech exporters representing globally trusted tech brand and thought you're right, it's like we don't want to see others we know succeed, while the world loves us - https://lnkd.in/gD365ZAM The presentation covered a range of work, and notably to this point is Koha - a Library System use by 18,000 Libraries worldwide, with 500 different developers having committed code to it. Aleisha did her first open source contribution into KOHA and of the examples shared one that stood our is Auckland University of Technology which combines KOHA combined with Ufind to create AIR - the rainbow collection with 20 years of research on LGBTQI "Working together, the collective over the individual ensures the product is more robust, more inclusive" said Aleisha who went on to ask: "How do we build tech that doesn't compromise on our values?" "When we ask about about the users, the people, then that answers the question about what tech as we build it collectively as data is is more than information it's our identity, our whakapapa, our toanga"  Aaron Creighton added, "Models you stand up and write your own code which means you know whats in them, Open Source communities create their own." "The Human centric approach to #AI is when AI is developed into your software ensure you are considered and valued as your Data is is your Self Identity"   This is the benefit of Techweek NZ giving opportunity to learn about tech, and in this case, the relationships between Tech & Aotearoa, Data & Self Identity, and tech built for your values. "Yes and no, I think it's yes for certain types of roles, it is still challenging and particularly to find the right person for certain roles..." Was the beginning of Lena's opening response to the question about whether there is still war on talent. The discussion flows on including Steve's additions around, "We"re seeing those headlines creep in around 'right sizing', and #AI is becoming a factor..." This is the first in a series from the CIO Leader Summit in March 2024. Each snippet will start with the facilitators questions, followed by the panelists' answers, from the panelists who contribute to that questions answer. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!!!!! How you respond to this or the actual challenge of a bully is what determines the outcome of the moment. If your flight and fright system react and you "fright" or "freeze" then the bully will continue, let's say "finish you off" for dramatic but real effect. If you can remain in your Exec brain (prefrontal coretex) and confidently respond, be it laugh it off or tell them to stuff off (in the appropriate way) then they will back down. And you may have to tell them twice, but once you start don't stop as backing down is like petrol on a fire for a bully while standing up to them cleverly is water on the fire. And you have (and this very important) heard yourself: STAND UP FOR YOURSELF This is super important as someone programs your mind. You can inadvertently let them program you into fear and freeze or you can program yourself into confidence. So that's my hard earned advice, which hopefully practical abd can help a parent (as Linkedin has no children) or even you as an Adult as NZ is in the top 2 to 5 countries fir both school and workplace bullying. There are many factors that play into our problem, one I will reference is our culture of emotional suppression. We don't have to be extreme to express an emotion, but that is typically what Kiwis do and that also why we don't stand up for ourselves.
