The health system is under huge pressure, in many cases people are going to A&E rather than their GP. Regardless which medical place someone goes, there is a wait, and often running behind, so the focus becomes the sympton not the process, and things can be left out to fit you in to a 15min consultation... "rushed through" sound familiar? Well, the good people from Dunedin have a few solutions one is in the photographs with myself and Rei Ishikawa here. These take your vitals height, weight, age, blood pressure, oxygen levels and more - all data gets mashed up to produce a report and my "medical age" is not worth mentioning - key thing is, these can take 10min off a 15min consultation and enable the 15min focus, while adding the full compliment of data to your file before the doctor sees you and enables tracking with every update. They could be in a Westfield mall... a Marae, a School or University as well as a GP (PHO) or Hospital... They also produce Software as well, with modules that work in NZs most popular GP software Medtech Global with Mark Smith and his team. The specific modules help guide Dr's through the process - I saw the Chronic Kidney Disease module which includes Diabetes, PKD and more - as there is a lot to remember for all the medical problems in the world these modules help drive better care and outcomes for patients, Doctors and the Ministry of Health New Zealand budget that gets spread so thin. Well done Rei, Karl Andrews, Eric Robertson and the whole team! #ROARSOME

Does it measure muscle mass? Most of the “standard charts” and calculations decide I’m overweight for my height. Why? 30 years of resistance training so low % fat, high bone density and lean muscle mass. Heavy for my height but quite healthy thanks 🤔

Very interesting Ryan. Where can one find out more regarding the Chronic Kidney Disease module, specifically PKD?

Looks like you have struck a cord here Ryan the Lion Ashton ... you know a ton of people so hopefully the right people are seeing this. Nothing would serve us better that efficient but deeper connections with our regular health professionals.

Fantastic!! Wouldn't it be great to see this all through NZ! The data point Pere made is a good one. I believe that we all need access to our health data. That is something which should be resolved ASAP - it isn't right that many GPs still haven't enabled patient access to their own data...
