Tata Motors on Monday launched the all-new Tata Safari after the SUV garnered a lot of attention since it is bringing back an iconic nameplate to the market.

NEW DELHI: Tata Motors on Monday launched the all-new Tata Safari after the SUV garnered a lot of attention since it is bringing back an iconic nameplate to the market. The Tata Safari takes on rivals like MG Hector Plus, Jeep Compass, Toyota Innova Crysta, Mahindra XUV500 and the likes of those in the Indian market.
The new Tata Safari starts at Rs 14.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 21.25 lakh.
The Tata Safari will be available in 6 variants – XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+. The automaker is also offering a Tata Safari Adventure Edition which offers a few more detailing on the exterior as well as on the interior. The Adventure edition ranges between Rs 20.20 lakh - Rs 21.45 lakh (ex-showroom). For reference, Tata Safari's closest rival, the MG Hector Plus ranges between Rs 13.34 lakh - Rs 19.12 lakh (ex-showroom).

2021 Tata Safari shares the same diesel mill with its not-so-little brother, the Tata Harrier. Safari is powered by a Kryotec 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that offers 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The 1956cc engine is paired to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV also gets the existing drive modes- Eco, City and Sport- and the ESP terrain modes remain the same too- Normal, Wet and Rough.

Tata Safari is a 7-seater SUV as standard but also offers a 6-seater seating arrangement with 2 captain seats in the middle row. Apart from this, the SUV also offers 9 seating modes in total which include a few like beach mode, weekend mode, jamming mode and family drive mode. The Tata Safari offers a comfortable knee room and headroom in all the 3 rows and the stadium effect seating ensures comfort for all the occupants.

On the inside, the Tata Safari offers an 8.8-inch floating island screen with iRA connected tech, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, 3rd-row ac vents, 6-way powered driver seat and much more.

Tata Motors refrained from commenting on the pre-booking figures and the delivery timeline for now.
