Why do you care? I would only care if I thought I made a wrong decision.

don't get it wrong, I have a n800-770 and 810 but I can see this forum being drown under massive fanboyism and pure hate instead of facts

Its very much different in that in N810 Skype runs in the background and stays connected but as at the last time I tried on apple's toy, once you switch away from skype, you get signed off - a BIG joke. Thats a fact or am I missing something ?

The reaction I have received from the iPhoners is to the contrary - more like wow. Maybe its because I had demoed the 9 movie trailer - its resolution and stunning sound had them hiding their expensive toy.

I could have gone to the BBC website and started the live news video and then cast it to the background and done other stuff but will probably be too much.

The N900 is a knockout, a total KNOCKOUT.

Yes, we are all weeping about our decision to buy N900s just about now. Several heart attacks have been reported in this forum (search for them!) as well as numerous suicides. I suggest you immediately get rid of that garbage N900 and stick with iPhone. If your N900 is still working and in good condition, I will give you whole $50 for it. Imagine all the things you can do with $50! Why, you can even buy an infrared remote control for your iPhone!

So, do we have a deal?

That's why I use Fring instead on the iPhone. Which has been updated on the iPhone whereas it has not been updated on the N810.

It runs in the background - well, "serial tasking" not true multi-tasking though - and I get alerts when people send me a message via Skype and I'm on the phone... and while still on the phone and talking, I can switch to Fring and chat with that person in Skype.

True... once you switch out of the Skype app, you do get logged out. There's no way around it. But other apps do work when you switch out (see above).

And yet another condescending troglodyte to preach the advantages of being a troll. The only fecal pits present are your attitude and opinions.

At least I answered the question with fact and not gadget idolatry or rank idiocy masked by puerile verbiage.

I preached nothing. I answered truthfully. I truly don't expect you to understand the differences therein; no worries about responding to me either. You've been added to my ignore list.

Actually, despite your sarcasm... I do not suggest it. In fact, I'd state that serial tasking is perhaps the worst way to experience any tasks on any device.

But, I did want to give you the knowledge of how limited the experience is on the iPhone. Your prior statement was slightly lacking because of the oversight of Fring.

I won't go into details about how many times each have/have not been updated for each of the platforms; let's just hope that the N900 gets more updates than the N810/Maemo 4 platform for Skype and Fring.
