Jeannette grew up in a large family, number ten out of eleven children, eight of them being older brothers. She quickly developed a great sense of humor, mostly from necessity. One of her greatest joys is sitting on the porch where they were all raised and hearing the stories from years gone by. Quietly laughing to herself, she notices how they embellish the stories more and more each year.
Storytelling was passed down from her grandfather and mother. Jeannette caught the bug at a very young age. If she didn’t have her head in a book, then she was off somewhere with a notebook, jotting down stories of what she would write if one day she became an author. Although the notebook may have vanished, the stories are still vivid and waiting for the right time to be told.
Despite having an amazing family, there have also been some sorrows in her life, including the loss of loved ones. Over the years, Jeannette has spent countless hours volunteering for different organizations and acting as a caregiver to those dearest to her. As a result, supporting the elderly became of utmost importance.
As she approached a milestone birthday in 2015, she decided to take her passion for writing and blend it with her desire to continue to help others. As she writes her stories, she hopes they touch someone’s life. Within the layers of the romance, the foundation remains throughout and is one that is dear to her; make a difference in someone’s life each day!
In 2016 she met someone who encouraged her to push herself even further and try her hand at spicy intrigue. One year later she has four books in this new series and each one pushing her limits just a bit further.
Like the wind, Jeannette’s life changed directions several times over the years, yet one constant remains: her desire to leave this Earth a little better than when she entered it as she tries to live by these words, Make your mark on the world today as your acts of kindness is all anyone will remember in years to come!
I pre-ordered this book and was very much looking forward to reading it, however I felt that although the storyline was good, the book in itself was rushed and underdeveloped. The change in the relationship between Drake and Isa was so sudden I had to go back and read a couple pages to see if I missed something. I am left wanting of a good read!
Unnecessary addition to an already complete series
Ziva's thought to be dead sister was found. There were many gaps and loose ends in the story. I'm wondering why the author published this unnecessary story.
I don't know why this book was added. It brought up a whole lot of questions which have not been answered in this story. Wish i had stopped at book six.
Isa was behind on her bills, her rent. She was desperate for a job and willing to take just about anything that came her way. She was always looking over her shoulder, she had escaped her homeland of Tabib. Eighteen years later she never stopped till one day she accidentally got knocked over by a stranger and those fear came back. Could she trust Drake that he meant know harm to her. Could she fall in love with this man. Drake was all about business until the one day he ran into Isa, not knowing she was now his employee their path collide more than once. There was something about her that called to him he couldn't explain it. I'm loving this series family is the one key that means everything from the Hendersons, to the Turchetta they help each other to build a small country that was once corrupted and they want to make it right again.
I give this a four instead of a five because the story is really good, the characters are developed. But the writing is missing that "spark" that makes you lose yourself in the story and forget the world around you. To me a five is when I can ignore the world around me. This one I would read some and then get distracted. All of that said....these series are really good and are worth the money and time to read.
Drake owes a Casino and Isa is recently employed there. Spilling a Beer on the Boss is not a good introduction. Having recently employed a man who can search out thieves that seems to be happening in his Casino, he also wants more Info on Isa. This relationship may not go anywhere but down as there is a lot of differences between them. Luckily Fate is on their side?
This is Seven Guilty Pleasures: Barrington Billionaires series, written by Jeanette Winters. Sometimes you can run from the past but it still may catch up with you. When Isa runs into her new boss Drake they both feel a tingle. Can she trust him not to hurt her? Can he trust her not to use him? Watch as they dance around each and see the flames when they finally take a chance.
Wow you’ve done it again Jeannette Winters I loved this book actually all your books you are such a talented writer, I did not want this book to end. I would have liked to hear more about the rest of the Hendersons throw. I recommend this book to read and give it 5*
Intriguing story of finding your family and learning to trust again. Drake makes it on his own. Isa is a survivor in all the ways that counts. When one's true identity is revealed all scamper to protect their own in the name of love. So happy this book was written as loose ends were tied up and families were created/reunited.
These are some really heartfelt stories that you don't want to miss. Just when you think they can't get any better, they do. You will definitely fall in love with these strong women characters who have been to hell and back and are now fixing their broken country.
Really enjoyed this book, couldn't out it down, great to catch up with some of the other Hendersons, but left with a lot of unanswered questions, otherwise would have been 5 stars
Very good read starting reading next one in series.. Thanks for the very good read. I enjoyed reading it. I'm at home from work through illness so reading helps me from the boredom.
Reading about all the tragic events that took place on that island, makes a person appreciate life as we have it here, although things like that are happening in USA
Drake was a casino owner who ran a fair bit tight crew. Isa was a hard worker who landed a job as a cocktail waitress at his casino and hotel. As she was leaving from her interview, he ran over her and knocked her down. The trip began with that encounter.
Another great book in this series!! It has been the best time reading all three series together!! I hope they continue on with many more books in these series!!
Drake and Isa. Again I real angst but I love both characters. These two were believable and you can feel their fears about relationships. Total rating - 4
Drake Fletcher, always made his own luck, whether it was in business or his personal life. He made sure the deck was stacked in his favor. When he teamed up with the Hendersons namely Dean (TABLE FOR TWO) to expand his High View Casino and Hotel. He found himself having to change the way how he did things which wasn't too hard.
Isa Grzyb-Bowen, a woman who never let her past define her future. Twenty years ago she escaped from Tabiq learning her family behind, they assumed she died. She found a nice couple who took her in and cared for her as their own for fifteen years.
She wondered what happened to her little sister Ziva (HIS FOR FIVE NIGHTS), unknown to her that she was closer than she thought. Now she a job that brought back some terrible memories for her.
The first encounter between Drake and Isa was interesting, she left an impression on him and vice versa. Even though she thought he was rude. As they got to know each other, they both realized there was more to the other than beneath the eyes.
Isa and Drake finally let their walls down and gave into the attraction that was growing between them. It was a great to catch up with old characters and meet new ones. The lovebirds got their HEA.
SEVEN GUILTY PLEASURES was beautiful, intriguing and heartwarming. Fabulous job by Jeannette Winters!
Another great read from Jeannette. Drake and Isa meet by accident, when in anger he push’s a door open knocking her flat on her back it’s not a very good start to a new job for Isa. When they both keep meeting up and don’t know who other one is, also Isa definitely doesn’t know he’s her boss the owner of a the casino/resort. While working in the Pussy Cat Lounge she see's him drinking with a man and when she finds out his name is Alex Henderson she panics and dumps the beer over Drake lol so funny. There are odd things going on around the casino and Drake asks for help from Gabe Turchetta to see what’s going on. When Isa's past haunts her and with Drakes help she overcomes it. I hope this isn’t the end of this series I love the collaboration with all three authors
I love this story! Definitely will read again, over and over. Drake and Isa are a wonderful couple, so perfect together. My favorite part is Drake asking her sister, Ziva permission to marry Isa and she giving him their mother’s engagement ring. So romantic! 5 Stars.
