All,

I hope all is well. I wanted to reminder everyone about the MassDOT
Developers Meeting next Monday, August 9th at 6pm. The meeting will
be held at 10 Park Plaza in Boston at 6pm.

It has been a while since we have held a developers meeting and we
wanted to make sure to include any topics of interest to you on the
agenda. Please reply to this message with any topics you want
included.

We are plannning on discussing the launch of www.mbta.com/apps, our
initiative to raise the awareness of all your awesome applications.
We need your help to get the word out and your suggestions on ways we
can improve the site. Additionally, we will be answering any
outstanding questions on bus data and providing an update on rail
information.

Thanks again for being a part of this initiative! Our first
Developers meeting was just one year ago tomorrow and it is amazing to
think of all that we have accomplished in this last year. To that
end, check out this StreetFilms video posted on the MassDOT blog
titled "A Case For Open Transit Data." Together, we have accomplished
a lot for MBTA riders here in Boston but also been a leader
nationally. Congratulations on everything!

See you next week,
Josh

When stop numbers be posted at bus stops so people without smartphones
can text or call to find the next bus using some of the text based
apps?

Suggestion:
In the future, we can setup a bus arrival info system at every bus stop just like many other cities are doing (I've attached a photo).
A little screen install at the bus stop will give passengers much more convince. Not everyone would like to retrieve bus arrival info via the web/sms.
This way is directly pushing information to the passenger instead inquire them by passenger themselves.
