9:40 am - 10:45 am - Comfort for the Uncomfortableness with Mental Health by DJ Chuang
How can we better address the topic of mental health from a biblical foundation? This keynote will illustrate how God has given us the most valuable sources of comfort in His Word, His Spirit, and His people as well as the resources to help with all of our needs, especially our mental health.

DJ Chuang works as a digital strategy consultant and launched Christian Asian Mental Health to advance compassion and care in Asian American churches. He also co-hosts the Erasing Shame podcast and authored the book, “MultiAsian.Church: A Future for Asian Americans in a Multiethnic World.” He graduated from Virginia Tech and Dallas Theological Seminary. Now, he lives in Orange County, California, with his wife Rachelle of 28 years.

Exploring Mental Health Through Art - Learning to Process & Lament by Victoria Cheng (Room B11/13)
This workshop explores the Biblical practice of Lament and applies it to our context as children of God and as the body of Christ. We will define Biblical Lament and look at examples found in the Bible. We will also practice writing individual laments and learn about the practicality and call to Lament from God.

Victoria Cheng is a digital content designer and mental health advocate. She knows all too well what it is like to wrestle with anxiety, chronic depression, hyperactivity and mood disorders. She supports holistic mental health wellness through professional therapy, medical help, physical exercise, supportive relationships, and healthy emotional outlets such as art. She believes in communal Biblical lament, prayer, and advocacy.

Lean in, Look up, Lock arms, and Leave space by Pastor Hugo Cheng (B07)
How to walk alongside someone you love who is struggling with mental illness.

Interacting theology and psychology:  Why Our Inner Child is the Key to the Kingdom of God and Mental Health by David Tong (B09)
Jesus said little children belong to the Kingdom of God.  This workshop will explain why it is difficult for anyone to enter the Kingdom of God with burdened inner protectors guarding their wounded inner child and the practical steps to healing.

David is a scripturally faithful trauma psychotherapist trained in the latest empirically proven trauma treatment modalities, such as Internal Family System (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Sensorimotor psychotherapy.

Biblical Guidance for Broken Family Relationships by Tim Tang (B12)
There are many reasons for broken family relationships, such as cross-culture conflicts, intergenerational misunderstandings, and people being people. In this workshop, we will discuss ways to understand family conflicts and how to deal with them.

Tim and his wife Charisse are the parents of three adult daughters and two high school sons. Tim is currently serving as a Christian Education deacon for CBCM.
