ACOB E-Bulletin
Going out into all the world, serving + welcoming all.

This Easter, may we know Christ in the half-lit places, the shadowy places, the hard places... If we linger long enough; if we find a place to truly listen, Christ will beckon us to walk with him in the days ahead and encourage us to share a love that will not let us go.

News, Notes + Event Details

Joint Service | This Sunday, April 28
April 28 will be Pastor Christy and Dale's last Sunday with us. Pastor Anne will be preaching. At the end of the service there will be a time for us to express our appreciation for both of them. A reception will follow in the library. There will be no Sunday School, but children are invited to an art project in the downstairs classroom during the Sunday School hour. Contact Amy to help with the reception, Alma with questions about the service, and Suzanne for more details about the art project.

2019 Auction Booklets | In the Narthex
Thanks to Everett for picking up the Disaster Response Auction booklets from the MAD office. $19,775 was raised through the booklet alone. All auction proceeds go to the Church of the Brethren Emergency Disaster Fund and the Mid-Atlantic transportation fund for disaster response. Pick up a copy in the narthex, check out ACOB's ad on page 66 and save the date for the auction on May 4 in Westminster, MD.

2019 Directories | In the narthex
Pick up a copy of our 2019 directory in the narthex. The online directory of local contacts has also been updated. Find it from the home page under “About Us” then “Contact Us” then “Member Directory” or go directly to arlingtoncob.org/member-directory. The password is “together” all in lower case.

Summer Camp | Shepherd’s Spring + Camp Mardela
We have brochures for both
camp at Shepherd's Spring and Camp Mardela this summer! Check them out in the narthex. There are camps for children aged 6 through high school. Contact Lisa, our camp advocate with questions.

Messenger Subscription | Reading + Reimbursement
The Congregational Life Ministry Team encourages everyone to read each month’s Messenger magazine. Timely articles, announcements, and letters are included in every issue. National church leaders offer thought provoking texts, and individuals associated with the Arlington Church often have articles or notes published. Lucile Vaughn offers her wisdom in the current (March) issue. Former Pastor Ken Gibble is a frequent contributor.

The Church Board has always felt that being in touch with the broader Church of the Brethren was important to the life of this Congregation and the Church subscribes each household at the group rate of $14.50. For those who are able to  help defray this church-wide Messenger expense you may designate a contribution of $14.50 (or more) toward the budget line for Messenger. This can be included with your regular tithes and offerings. If you have questions, talk with
Everett or Suzanne.
