Did you know that indoor air quality can be worse than the air outdoors?
This was the motivation by the researchers at NTU to create a robot which would purify, disinfect and deodorise the air with the use of a filterless system. The system uses concepts from fluid dynamics & material sciences to remove particulate matter, deodorise, and also disinfect the air simultaneously. It also incorporates a range of sensors which senses environment quality.
As part of the smart library campaign and to explore solutions in occupational health, Energy Research Institute @NTU approached us to have Lee Wee Nam Library be a testbed for the aforementioned robot.
From January 2019, don’t be surprised to see it in the library and if you’re lucky, you may see it roaming around too. As always, we welcome your feedback as we aspire to create the most healthy environment among all the buildings in NTU with regards to air quality.
