Vampire: The Masquerade
This is a survey for the previous and future players of Aurora Nova and its new site (name to be released shortly).

My intention with the site, which never came to fruition, was that players would within the first year take over the roles of whips them Primogen of the clans. I had always intended for the players to take central leading rolls in clan politics and Camarilla politics. This, towards the end of the original life of AN, became the reality of the game.

Towards the end, it was also suggested to me (given that venue STs cannot play in their venues and Admin cannot play at all) that the title of Prince could go to a player.

One of the issues we found, was that players did not feel their characters were powerful enough (XP wise) to move on this positions, and when they did become powerful enough they'd politically bite off more than they could chew. Unfortunately, a few also tried to use OOC leverage and other members of staff to gain support. I had for a long time, cultivated the reputation of favouring players over staff members  with regards to IC gains (e..g, for titles, reserved clans, and the like). This policy was not popular amongst the staff, or at least some of them who promptly quit (a few even told me I should favour them as they were on staff) - needless to say they are no longer on staff (nor would they be welcomed back).

When we were discussing the relaunch of Aurora Nova, prior to the tech issues, I had decided that if the game went Camarilla, that given the bonuses we were giving (based on previous characters), that it would be much easier to get PCs into positions of power much earlier and let the players shape their own political games as I focused on running the larger Camarilla plots that effected the local court and the adversarial (e.g., Sabbat) NPCs and plots against the local court. However, a majority of players wanted a Sabbat game instead, for which I had my own plans to ensure players took positions of power (for as much as they could mean in a Sabbat game).

However, those plans are no longer feasible. Sadly, all the technical issues that occurred - the server crashing, the data getting corrupted, backups not being able to be loaded into any attempts to relaunch the site, etc. - meant that we have to go with a hard reset. We cannot offer the bonuses that we had planned to before. This means that we are back to the drawing board on what VtM on our new site will look like.

I wanted you to read all of this above information so that I am being as transparent as I can be with the administration of the VtM game and so that when you go on to the next page you understand why I am asking the questions that I am asking.  Please remember, this is not an 'us' versus 'you' set-up that we often feel like or in fact find in online TT games, this is part of the reason why we volunteer not to play on the site as admin or not play within our own venues. Therefore, your input is extremely important to me.

Please note, that NO question is a mandatory question, these are all optional.
