We are more than a freight forwarder
GAC Pindar is a familiar name on the international race circuit and the Pindar name is well known through-out the marine sports, leisure and event community, supporting sailing campaigns since 1980 across every level, from grass routes and local community projects through to match racing and global offshore events at the very pinnacle of the sport.
As a direct result of Pindar Sailing Partners' own experience of booking sailing team freight logistics, the GAC Pindar brand was born with the intention of improving the way logistics are delivered for the very community it was and remains a part.
We are sailors too
GAC Group is a global provider of integrated shipping, logistics and marine services. Established in 1956, GAC employs over 9,000 people in more than 300 offices worldwide.
Behind the partnership lies a power house of industry knowledge and understanding lead by a team of experts driven by a shared passion for the sport.
Headquartered in the UK sailing hub of Southampton, GAC Pindar is a division of GAC Services (UK).
GAC Pindar was created with the intention of improving the way logistics are delivered for the global marine sport, leisure and event community.
World Sailing
When launching in 2011 the GAC Pindar goal was to deliver the best in logistics with optimum efficiency and value for money for the grass root sailor upwards.
In 2017, GAC Pindar became an official partner to World Sailing providing marine logistics services to impact planning and cost savings to World Sailing, Member Nation Authorities (MNAs) and individual sailors during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic cycle.
The partnership goal to reduce costs and environmental impact of logistics in the shipping of equipment to events falls in line with the new World Sailing Sustainability strategy.
GAC Pindar is also playing a leading role in supporting World Sailing's mission to reinstate Paralympic Sailing back into the Sports Programme for 2024. As part of the agreement and in light of World Sailing's Para World Sailing strategy, GAC Pindar supported the transportation of Paralympic equipment to the Para World Championship and the Sailing World Cup Hyeres in 2017 and is supporting further shipments in 2018.
