This was an epic love story of two people finding their way back to echo other.
This book was WOW.
Connor may be beautiful broken but he tries no matter what to show Ava he ain't that guy anymore. Which makes you love him more. I was rooting for him from the start, you wanted him to win and for Ava to see the guy he had become.
Connor and Ava's epic love story had everything you want in a book. Love, passion, angst, emotion, happiness and thrill
Every page had me wanting more, this was an epic love story that felt so real, Evey fairytale has it's battles and Connor and Ava have theirs.
This was my first Emery Rose book and it won't be my last.

I knew Connor Vincent had a story to tell. Connor with his addictions and his big heart. He has an artist soul who just feels so much around him. He sees things different than you and I but it’s messy and has cost him the love of his life.

Connor had a less than perfect life. An abusive father and a mother who left them behind he coped the best way he knew how. His first addiction was Ava a girl in high school who Killian stood up for but Connor became her best friend and her first love. Suddenly he turned to drugs and Ava was left in the dust holding her shattered heart. They cross paths occasionally always regretting it in the morning. He flees and finds himself in some trouble that will most likely follow him home. Now sober and ready to make amends with Killian and confront his past and take his future by the horns and make something of himself but not just for himself he hopes to win Ava back.

Ava Christensen had a good life with a controlling mother who always used the I just want what’s best for you excuse. Ava was a wild card but when she endured something that no fourteen-year-old girl should have happen she shrank into herself. It’s here she meets Connor and Killian and finds the love of her life. Things were good she loved Connor with the burning of a thousand suns but that burned out quick. Now she’s just trying to live her life and it’s going well until Connor walks back into the bar and into everyone’s life like he didn’t disappear, and he doesn’t have a book of secrets. They tentatively step back into the waters and try give things a go. Ava isn’t so trusting with her heart, but can she really stand by Connor even with his book of secrets?

I have loved Connor since I started this series which was oddly book three. They can be read as standalones so it’s all good. I’m glad that Connor tried to do something right. He was just a tortured lost soul. His fight with his battle and his self-worth was sad to watch. Ava lord that girl I liked her! She has tenacity she knew what she wanted, and she did it. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this series I really enjoyed it!

Considering this is only the authors second book, I’m once again blown away with her ability to so effortlessly pull me into this beautiful story, wrap Connor & Ava’s story of second chance love around my heart & force me to fall so helplessly in love with this flawed, broken, yet utterly gorgeous hero.

Connor & Ava truly have been through the wringer since they were teenagers & I loved how Emery gave enough flash backs into their past to help me understand who they were as individuals as well as together. I felt it was important to see the flaws that had crept in to their relationship over time & what brought them to this heartachingly sad & uncertain moment in life. The hard facts of their here & now & the haunting reality of the untold damage that came with broken promises, lies & secrets.

The writing was fantastic from start to finish & the creative detail ~ just wow. It says a lot when words alone can paint such beautiful images when you close your eyes, so vivid & real you can almost see them, touch them. It’s a magical & wonderful gift an author can share with a reader & for me Emery nailed that.

The plot had a good balance of angst, heartache & passion to keep me turning the pages. I loved the twists & turns that I never expected. I loved that no matter how hard their past had been, faith, hope & courage was their guiding light.. And love of course. Can never forget about love.

Another fabulous read in what is fast becoming & cracking series.

A difficult journey for a drug addict who's been physically and verbally abused all his life and a young girl who was secually abused. Conner and Ava meet at 14 and become best friends, then lovers. However Conners home life is riddled with abuse and he eventually turns to drugs and becomes an addict. They separate and years later Conner is trying to make amends with not just Ava but his brother Killian and pull his life together. Is Ava willing to give him a chance?

I read Beneath Your Beautiful before this and loved it, but I loved the story of Conner and Ava even better! I’m a sucker for stories about forbidden love and people who find their way back to each other. If you enjoy books like that, this story is for you. I also want to say that Emery Rose is an excellent writer. Good sentence flow, no grammar or spelling errors. No boring spots. You don’t need to read Beneath Your Beautiful to enjoy this one, but I highly recommend it. The story of Killian and Eden is sooo nice also.

Another great story. I loved the dual POV in this book and being able to see both sides of Ava and Connor’s relationship. They were friends in high school and became each other’s everything. But Connor dealt with his emotional and physical abuse of his father with drugs that ripped them apart. He wants her back now that he has his act together, but she makes him work for it.
I loved Ava. She’s a strong woman but is weak for her man. She wants to be with him, but can’t give her heart away until she’s sure he’s not going to destroy it again.
The supporting characters were great; being able to see Killian and Eden again and meeting Tate, Kiera, and the rest rounded out the whole story.
