Blindsided (By His Game, #1) Kindle Edition
From Emma Hart, the New York Times bestselling author of the Game series, comes a brand new series where the game is realer, the tension is tighter, the sex is hotter, and the stakes are the highest of all...
Two people. Two agendas. Two games.
What happens when the out-there It-Boy of football meets the secret It-Girl of fashion?
As the daughter of Hollywood's sweetheart, Leah Veronica can't even buy a coffee without finding her face on a magazine stand, so it's no wonder she's launching her first fashion line in secret. With it debuting at New York Fashion Week in just under a month, extra time in the spotlight is the last thing she needs.
The son of the best quarterback the league has ever seen, filling legendary shoes as the L.A. Vipers' quarterback was inevitable for Corey Jackson. So was meeting Leah Veronica--the first girl to hand him his ass without putting a hair out of place.
Getting the sexy, prickly blonde into his bed becomes his number one goal. But getting the handsome, over-confident footballer the hell away from her becomes Leah's--at least until she realizes the best way to do that is to give him what he wants.
If only it was that simple.
When Corey discovers who she is, and private photos of Hollywood's finest find their way online, everything they thought they knew is thrown into disarray.
And when secrets are exposed and hearts are shattered, they have to figure out if they've been blindsided by love or reality, and if it's worth running the extra yard to win the game they never meant to play.

About the author

New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Emma Hart, has written more than seventy romance novels in the last decade. She loves writing snarky, swoony romcoms with a side of chaos, occasionally venturing into romantic mysteries. Which are exactly the same as her romcoms, just with a dead body or two. That’s the reason for her questionable Internet history—at least that’s the story she’s sticking to.
She lives on a smallholding in North Wales with her husband and their two children, a clowder of very fluffy cats, one giant German Shepherd, and an undisclosed number of chickens and ducks. Don’t ask her to count them. She will not, thank you very much.
When she’s not writing or chasing ducks in her pyjamas, you can find her creating cosy gaming content for her Youtube channel and live streaming on Twitch.

I love the wit, I love the love, the chemistry of the characters esp Leah. Sassy, sweet, seductive ....need I say more. It flows, it hooks you & that makes a good book or 2 or 3. Corey underneath all that crap you really are a sweetheart & a true gentleman.
I've told you nothing about the book but I don't think I have to, so if your a fan need I say more. The Burke Bros is on the list. So,loved the Wild & Call series too. Gotta luv ya Emma 👏 👙 😘

Corey Jackson had me swooning through the roof. At first he definitely came off as a typical man-slut; cocky, arrogant almost to the point of annoyance. Though Corey begins to show his true colors the more time he spent with Leah. His determination to have her was sexy beyond belief. He had to have her with a passion that transcended just wanting in her pants. It was so adorable to witness the back and forth banter that ranged from argumentative to flirtatious. They really complemented each other with their similar tastes and personalities.
Their relationship was the kind that slowly built up and snuck up on them out of the blue.
Leah was someone I could be best friends with. She’s so normal despite her celebrity status. She’s extremely humble and I think that was what I loved most about her. Her need to prove herself on her own terms, without the help of her fame-attached surname. I enjoyed seeing her feistiness when Corey was near, but her resistance towards him was exhausting. I don’t know how she was able to hold out on him for so long. She was quite stubborn at times and jumped to conclusions way too fast, but it was all understandable and tolerable.
Like usual, I began to love the supporting characters as well. Already I was beginning to match up everyone and wonder what their story would entail. All the while, I was still somehow enraptured by Corey and Leah’s blossoming love.
Blindsided had great laughs, steamy love scenes (like seriously turn up that AC), frustrating moments, and some sob-filled words. Beautifully balanced with every emotion, every step of the way.
Another story and yet another couple created from Emma’s mind has taken up room in my heart. Again I’m so very impressed with Emma’s writing and how effortlessly she fabricates these modernized fairy tale love stories.
I highly recommend this book and every other book from Emma Hart’s collection.

I'm going to start by saying you'd better be prepared for Corey Jackson to burst into your life and set your pants on fire! He is cocky, arrogant and has an ego the size of Mt. Everest... But boy can he back it up! By the end of Blindsided I was completely head over heels with the many angles and refraction that make up the diamond that Corey is! even if the light is shining through a flaw you can't help but still sigh with appreciation and see the ultimate beauty that lies underneath. Leah is easily one of the most dynamic leading female literary characters of my life. she is not only fierce, she's determined and stubborn, which makes her the perfect match for Corey. However...rather like when a match meets a gas stove...you have to expect an explosion!
The secondary characters are also more than noteworthy! Macey and Ryann are just amazing and their conversations had me in absolute stitches. Jack and Reid are what every guy needs whilst he is going up against a stubborn female. Aunt Ada had me crying with laughter, I defy anyone to read it and not be picturing that hat
I was held captive by the storyline, the secrets, the heartbreak, the lies... It all comes to one epic conclusion, Hart has done what she does best, she's kept the reader guessing right until the finale!
I could go on and on about how much I am enamoured with this book and it would never be enough so I'm just going to say this... Thank you for Corey and Leah's story Emma! I can't wait for Sidelined.

Blindsided is the story of two very similar people. Both Corey and Leah are gorgeous, rich, self-assured, and talented. They have important parents and live in the limelight. But while Corey basks in the public attention, particularly of the female kind, Leah does her best to keep a low profile. So when Corey hits on her in a bar, she turns him down hard. Instead of dissuading Corey’s interest, her rejection only makes him want her more. She eventually gives in, but things become complicated as feelings develop, secrets are shared, and their faith in each other is tested.
This wasn’t the first book of Emma Hart’s that I’ve read, but it’s the first to really pull me in. Leah’s a big reason for that. She rocks. Unlike most other people who’d happily capitalize on their parents’ fame, she was determined to make it on her own. Sure, it was wrong of her to lie to most everyone about her career, but I’ve got to admire her independence. I also love how she didn’t buy into Corey’s good looks and sweet talk. Leah’s a woman who knew her worth, and she wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself and give Corey a beating—at Call of Duty and that Disneyland shooting game, that is. For her, the struggle was in letting Corey in and managing her secret career as a fashion designer.
Corey, on the other hand, started off as a cocky yet amusing jerk who looked at Leah as a prize to be won. Some of his early internal monologue had me cringing at how he objectified Leah, and that made me root for her all the more. But as he spent more time with her, he began to show his softer yet equally cocky side. While I wish there was more dimension to his character—it seemed like he was focused on Leah for the entirety of the book—I enjoyed the humor he brought to the story. He was so upfront about his arrogance and his attraction to Leah that it became part of his quirky charm.
The other thing that had me eagerly flipping through the pages was the couple’s banter. On their own, they’re already amusing, but when pitted together, they were a hoot. The secondary characters—Leah’s mom and aunt and both her and Corey’s friends—only brought more chuckles to the table. And in case you’re wondering, yes, there is steam.
The story’s pretty simple, and the text could use a bit more editing, but I definitely recommend this for anyone wanting a sexy, entertaining read. It’s the first in Emma Hart’s By His Game series, and I’m looking forward to picking up the next book. Four fun stars!

This book is a prime example of why you shouldn't take to much stock in reviews ( I know I'm writing a review ! ) but if I'd have let some reviews for this book sway my decision to read it, I may have not read this book. I trusted my instincts and Emma's superb writing and soaked up the great love story of Corey and Leah .
This book was filled with amazing one liners, laced with sharp sarcarism which made it my kinda book !
Leah and Corey are an aquired taste I'll agree, they are both confident, cocky and will not be walked all over by the opposite sex - and why would you !
What starts as a game for Corey - bag the rich superstars daughter - ends in something completely different
"The last few days haven't been the same. I wanted to bring you somewhere where you can remember that, in the end all that matters is us. That you, me, us- we're real to me, Leah. It didn't start that way but that's how it's finished "
Leah is terrified to trust strangers and hides a big secret from almost all round her but just when she starts to trust Corey her sercet is blast wide open for all the world to see.
I really enjoyed this amusing, sarcastic story it's not classically sweet but it does have its sweet moments laced within some very funny banter. Oh and watch out for aunt Ada she had me laughing out loud, when I'm old I want to be Ada ! Take a chance on a hot cocky quarter back and a sarcastic witty, ballsy girl who takes no s*** of anybody especially Corey Jackson !

I quickly fell in love with Corey Jackson, the LA Vipers start QB and Hollywood's latest playboy. Then you have Leah whose mom is Hollywood royalty but really wants to stay out of the spotlight while she works on her design career. All bets are off though once Corey sets his sights on Leah.
I love that Leah was feisty and had attitude and didn't just do whatever Corey wanted her to do. This was a fantastic book by Emma Hart and I am already starting on Sidelined, which is Jack & Macy's story. :)
