This story centers around ex-Navy SEAL Caleb Maddox“Mad Dog” and CIA agent Jolie Richards. Caleb left the SEALS , his only true family, after an injury in a crash that cost his friend’s life. He feels useless and is on the verge of ending his life, when his military friends hunt him down and offer him a job as a solo operative. His mission, protect Jolie. Jolie is a sniper that has crossed paths with an ISIS terrorist , who is now out to kill her. She decides to have the terrorist follow her to the ranch she grew up in . A ranch filled with memories. When Caleb arrives , little do they know, that both their lives will be changed forever. It’s a story filled with interesting and complex characters, an engaging story and a visit with some of the characters in previous Brotherhood books. Though this book is part of the Sleeper Seals series, it is more of a Brotherhood Protectors book. I say this for a couple of reasons. In the other Sleeper Seals stories I have read, the reader is provided a prologue that gives the reader a more in depth story on HOW the Sleeper Seals got started and an insight of Commander Lambert, the man in charge of the Sleeper Seals. Another reason I say this , is that Ms James’s classic style comes through. She does a wonderful job of not only giving us an action story, but also an in depth view of the characters and their flaws and fears. Regardless of whether you have read both series, or just one, you will enjoy the book. I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

The writing isn't bad. The character development is decent. One of the most frustrating things is the lack of technical knowledge. As a woman who enjoys both automotive hobbies and firearms, it is very offputting when the author ignores details like the fact that Glock pistols have NO external safety to engage. A quick search on Google would tell you that fact. She probably isn't familiar with dirt bikes or how little being hit with a stick would affect someone riding a dirt bike. Overall not a bad story, but not my favorite of the series.

They are NOT cookie cutters that seem to have a formula and each book is written to that outline. Montana Rescue is a fast paced, action packed, and the romance is off the charts. You will savor the adventure to the last page – guaranteed. You will enjoy Caleb “Mad Dog” Maddox and have empathy for his background and then seemingly having no life when he is medically discharged from his beloved Seal Team. Hank Patterson, CEO of The Brotherhood Protectors, saved his life, literally, when he provided the means for his life to have meaning again. When Caleb and Jolie Richards meet, their attraction is so strong that they both had to resist each other at every turn. For eight years Jolie has been one of the best snipers the CIA has. Always working alone, she did not want Caleb or anyone getting in her way “or” getting in the crosshairs of one of the deadliest ISIS leaders that has sworn to avenge his brother after Jolie had taken him out. Jolie’s plan is to lure the ISIS leader to her family ranch in Montana. Jolie had left this ranch when her father was killed eight (8) years ago and has been with the CIA since she left the ranch. Being on the Ranch has caused painful memories to rush back in, she knows she needs to stay focused, but, damn, it is hard with the handsome man trying to protect her. As the ISIS terrorist gets closer, the Brotherhood Protectors get involved to protect Caleb, Joie, the Ranch and those that live near “Crazy Mountain, Montana.
