NEW RELEASE: “Veganism in an Oppressive World”

In this guest blog, vegan author and social justice advocate Julia Feliz talks about her new book “Veganism in an Oppressive World”, a new release by vegan book publisher, Sanctuary Publishers, www.sanctuarypublishers.com, which aims to support marginalized groups through every book sold. Sales from this book benefit the vegan organization, Food Empowerment Project, www.foodispower.org

"While folks from all walks of life name various motives as the catalyst for embracing a vegan lifestyle, what unites us all under the term is the true reason for the movement. That reason is nonhuman animals and our want to create a world free from their abuse, objectification, and exploitation, and in a world where oppression of both humans and nonhumans is systemic, veganism is but one part of the puzzle towards creating a just world."

Andrew Tyler – My Life as an Animal – out now in print

In this sharply written memoir, the late former Animal Aid director Andrew Tyler takes us from the ‘skinny anxious boy’ who was raised in a children’s home and left school at 14, escaping to Canada as an émigré and travelling, as a hippy, through the US in the year of flower power. To coming home and being a rock writer on the prestigious NME in the heady days of the early 1970’s interviewing the likes of Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, John Lennon and Bruce Springsteen.
