Thanks for your interest in the APPLE Scholarship. In order to be eligible for a scholarship, you must complete and submit your application by Sunday, April 16, 2017. ANY APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

PURPOSE: To provide scholarships to deserving Colton Joint Unified School District graduating seniors and/or students of CJUSD employees to assist them in pursuing a post-high school course of study at either a college/university or other post-secondary educational institution such as a vocational training program.  

AWARD COMPONENTS: Multiple scholarships in varying amounts are awarded to students as determined by the APPLE Scholarship Foundation Committee following interviews for selected applicants only. All award funds are sent directly to the educational institutions where the recipients attend to be used for tuition, fees and books.

CRITERIA:
1.  Applicant must be a 2017 graduating high school senior who is either a student in the Colton Joint Unified School District or the child of a current district employee.

Application Process (please review before you begin):
1.       Please fill out and submit the online application form.
2.       Be prepared to provide information such as your high school activities and courses taken, your parents’ occupations and family income, your future educational plans and goals and names and email addresses of three teacher references.
3.       The application includes a short essay of no more than 500 words based on the topic “Plans for my future – Describe how an APPLE Scholarship will help you meet your post-secondary educational and career goals.” THE ESSAY IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE APPLICATION, SO PLEASE CONSIDER WORKING ON IT AND REVIEWING IT AHEAD OF TIME BEFORE FILLING OUT THIS ONLINE FORM.

Finalists will be contacted by email and must attend an interview by the selection committee, at a date to be determined.  Winners who are students of CJUSD will be recognized and learn their award amounts at their school senior awards ceremonies. Winning students of district employees who do not attend CJUSD schools will be notified through U.S. Mail.
