    How unfair is it when you are wanting to give your family everything only to be left with little time at the end of the day? Where does the time go?
    You give all of yourself making sure to keep the routine and structure of day to be productive as a woman, wife, and mother.

    You know those moments when you are consumed by what your children are doing throughout their day. You pause just long enough to inhale very slowly hoping to slow down time.
    Where does the time go?
    How is it that you trying to be the best mother makes you feel more like coming in last place for a contest you didn't even enter?
    This mom thing is very complicated the more you immerse yourself. It doesn't seem fair that you have to pick and choose at times.
    Your children over your business. Your children over your spouse. Your children over "ME" time. Your children over a clean house. Your children over a better car. Then all you hear around you is the buzzing of how successful all these other mothers are. So what's your problem?
    Why can't you get your act together? Why can't you organize better? Why can't you make decisions better?
    Because if you could do all of that right, you wouldn't be wondering about how the day has escaped you.
    Where does the time go?
    As children, time is in the moment. There is never worry or concern about what is going to happen during tax season. When are you going to schedule vacation this year.
    All they experience is the day in which they are present. Yes, there is some planning in their minds as to what's to come. But their "what's to come" is no further than following that next moment.
    For example: Why do you think children are so surprised when it's the BIG event like vacation? Yesterday is too far away for them to live in reality.
    And the repetitive question.... Are we there yet? They are simply present in the moment. Conscious of the time they see which is what is right in front of them.
    Now as they get older and need to plan ahead, it becomes a greater challenge. They are thrown into planning for the future after living the majority of their lives in the moment.
    So there you are questioning what you have accomplished for the day? Surely I should have been able to do more.
    Where does the time go?
    This is where we as adults can learn from children.
    The K.I.S.S. ~ Let tomorrow worry about itself. Be present today. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. ~ Matthew 6:34 There is no reason to beat yourself up because the clock is ticking faster than you think it should. You are just more aware of how the time moves.
    Structure your day focusing on the moment. This way the worry will fade a little allowing you to accomplish more, because your mind isn't distracted from the clicking of the second hand on the clock. Construct routines that support the flow of your day. If you know that you have activities in the afternoon to the evening, working out then maybe next to impossible. Or you might be overly tired. Workout in the morning instead. Simplify by being present in whatever you do. Take it from the Kids Life Book. Let the distraction appear when you show up in that moment. Time is on your side when you don't get flustered in the moment when you feel out of control.
    BONUS: When life happens and you haven't planned accordingly, go with the flow. Strut your flexible feathers!

    However, most of us eat out of habit or feelings. We never stop long enough to consider the ramifications of our actions.
    So we either continue down the path of how we were raised, or fall into a lifestyle out of pure ease and convenience.
    Most of our failures are because of the chemical reactions hijacking our biology, cells, hormones, and brain. Talk about mixed signals.
    Are you getting this?
    When the pleasure center is stimulated, you want more of what you are getting. So you overindulge in yummy goodness leading you down "CRAVE STREET"!
    No time to cave. Have no fear, the rescue is here.
    The K.I.S.S. ~ Psych out your own cravings! You remember the days when you needed to psych yourself out for a test, asking to dance with that special young man, or asking for a raise.
    Use your tenacity and psych out your own cravings!
    In order to rid yourself of the addiction, you have to remove the addiction.
    If God made it, you can eat it! Cut out the processed foods. Stay clear of gluten, dairy, and all forms of sugar and sweeteners (including artificial ones). No more grains, starchy vegetables (like potatoes), beans, and fruit. If you want fruit, go for berries. Watch what you drink; the inflammatory beverages like coffee, alcohol, soda, and juices. Fill your mouth with...
    Lots of non-starchy vegetables. Think GREENS! Protein anytime you eat. Hydrate with lots of water! Healthy serving of fat like avocado, coconut oil, nut/seed oil, nut butter, etc. While you are keeping your fuel clean, be sure to walk!
    And don't forget SLEEP!

    You know my love for football. Yesterday was the CFP National Championship 2019 between #1 Alabama and #2 Clemson. Now that the college season is over, it's all about the NFL playoffs followed by the Super Bowl.
    You may not be a sports fanatic or have any interest in football. However, there is one coach that is teaching beyond the field.

    What's in a word? Mark Twain once said, "I can live for two months on a good compliment." Words have power.
    The sentences you use are filled with stones or seeds. You are either using them to kill your confidence or to grow your mind.

    Too many times we are destroying the exact thing we are trying to build.
    Dreams Aspirations Better health Thriving marriage Strong family Incredible career But instead of building up that which the world tears down, you add to the chaos. Confusion with contractions holds you back from precisely pursuing your purpose.
    English 101 - Do not use contractions in your writing. If you aren't supposed to use contractions in writing, why do we use it in speaking?
    Contractions take away; nothing is added except empty space with a dangling comma in the air.
    But that's what's happening. This space allows for a multitude of second-guessing. A time to hone in on the negative and not the positive. It gives power to what you see as improbable, not possible.
    If you took heed to what Mark Twain said, "I can live for two months on a good compliment," imagine what would happen if you chose kindness daily in your word usage.
    "Your kindness will reward you, but your cruelty will destroy you." ~ Proverbs 11:17 (NLT) The K.I.S.S. ~ Choose words of kindness to grow your dream! Your internal dialogue will either benefit your life or take away a little bit at a time. And this little bit adds up.
    Start with awareness of the contractions --- all the stones, the nots! Think about David and Goliath. He had a slingshot and some stones. Every time you use negative words, nots, or contractions, you risk being knocked out and killing that which you so desire. Choose 3 words that resonate with your heart and your dream. Connect them to ignite the passion. Write 3 sentences/questions to trigger the possible! These are your hope statements. If you are searching for ONE word, that's another episode. This K.I.S.S. is all about sustenance. Feeding your mind, body, and spirit to thrive through the ups and downs of your season.

    1457 Has Your Light Gone Out

    Have you ever noticed how dark a sky is until you see the one bright star piercing the darkness? Has your light gone out this season?
    The holidays have gone and the lights are being turned off. It makes a winter drive very dark in the country.

    On our way to church yesterday, I made a bold statement to the family. "Let's call and have them put lights on the house now!"
    The children looked a little confused. And dad quickly responded, "I bet their season is a little slow now."
    Within a few giggles, I couldn't help but think how a lot of people have already given up on their dreams and the year is only 6 days in.
    Crazy? YES! Unfair? No!
    Because you have a choice. You can choose to let your light shine or you can choose to let your light go out.
    Which are you choosing today?
    Well before you make a decision, think back to Mary. Here she lays after giving birth to Jesus, a completely unexpected gift that rocked her world, and now she is the mother to the Messiah.
    How do you mother the Son of God? What will you feed him? How will you discipline Him when He disobeys? So many expectations for someone who didn't ask for them.
    Instead of retreating and hiding when she didn't know what to do, her light continued to shine. It wasn't just for a season, but for a journey, a divine purpose greater than herself.
    The K.I.S.S. ~ Let your light shine! Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. ~ Matthew 5:16 You were created on purpose with a divine purpose. One that God has extreme resolve. No matter your endeavors or your setbacks, God has an undeterred determination for your success in His purpose designed for you!
    Now that should make you shiver more so than being outside on a cold winter day with no coat.
    You mean that much to God for Him to go out on a limb ALWAYS for you! (Matthew 28:16-20)
    So let me ask again. Has your light gone out?
    Maybe it has, or maybe it will.
    But remember this... You have a choice to make a difference in the world you touch by living out God's divine purpose for your life.
    The time you feel like you can't do it or what you are doing doesn't make a difference, go outside on a dark night and look into the sky. See the star that catches your eye as it pierces the darkness.
    That is YOU!!!
