Canterbury Trip to Washington DC
We're taking a day trip to Washington DC!

Did you know that the Episcopal Church has an entire office dedicated to advocacy within our government? And that one of our churches serves as a gathering place for the nation in times of importance?

On Friday, November 10, we will leave early in the morning from Williamsburg and drive to visit the Episcopal Church's Office of Government Relations on Capitol Hill to hear about the intersection of faith and politics. Alan Yarborough, Church Relations Officer, will present on how the Episcopal Church interacts with lawmakers to advocate for positions of church policy.

Following lunch, we will travel to the Washington National Cathedral and meet the Rev. Patrick Keyser, W&M '14, Cathedral Priest Associate, to hear about the ministry of the cathedral and to learn about his interests in theology.

This is an all-day trip, which may mean missing classes. As is our custom for the Pilgrimage, the chaplain is glad to write a letter to your professor(s) explaining the educational value of the trip and asking to excuse you from class that day.
