The hours

Various hours are available including days, weekends, overnights and sleepovers. Life isn’t 9-5, as you know, so we need support that works for individuals and their interests. Flexibility is key!

Community Activity Support Workers

Do you love to be hands-on? Have you got some fabulous creative skills that you could share? We offer all these activities to the people we support:

The hours

Community activities hours: Full and part-time positions available which will include elements of evening and weekend work.

Community activities salary: £17,438.24 – £17,666.49 pro rata, £8.91-£9.03 (Full time 37.5 hrs)

Supported Living Manager

We currently support six individuals from their fabulous farmhouse in the countryside on the outskirts of Wigton, to live ordinary lives and be part of the community.

This is a unique setting established by individuals and their families, Chrysalis is the support provider.

As we embark on a new phase of this journey, you will join us as our Supported Living Manager to lead a team of dedicated and skilled support workers who support people with everyday living, both at home and in the community with a wide and varied range of activities and interests.

We are looking for someone who is a great leader and can motivate their team to deliver excellent service quality. You will build strong relationships with individuals and their families the staff team and wider networks.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have significant experience supporting people within learning disability services

  • Be a driven, motivated person with a proactive approach to work

  • Demonstrate commitment, resilience and enthusiasm to the role

  • Be qualified at Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care or willing to work towards

  • Possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to communicate to all levels

  • Have meticulous attention to detail and quality provision

The hours

37.5 hours per week.

The salary

Supported Living Manager: £25,129 - £28, 003 pa.

Independent Living Support Workers

We currently support six individuals in their fabulous farmhouse in the countryside on the edge of Wigton, helping them to live ordinary lives and be part of the community.This is a unique setting established by individuals and their families.

You’ll help people by sharing in their daily lives, both at home and out and about with a range of everyday activities and interests, including some great opportunities to support people to concerts and events, the pub and the occasional barbeque! You’ll also be helping them maintain and develop their skills in the home, like cooking, shopping and laundry.

The hours

Support is required 24/7 so this will include evening, weekend work, waking nights, sleep-ins and bank holidays.

The salary

Independent living salary: £17,438.24 – £18,102.13 pro rata, £8.91-£9.25 p/h (Full time 37.5 hrs) + sleep in rate £47 per night.

Supported Living - Waking Nights Support Worker

Ever wanted a role which offers you the balance between your personal and home life with work commitments ? A role where you can do both ?… Look no further, Chrysalis recognises that not all people can commit to a rotating work pattern.

We are looking for individuals who are able to work a ‘waking night’ shift pattern, someone who may have commitments during the day.

You’ll help people by sharing in their daily lives, following support plans , ensuring their safety and wellbeing in a compassionate and person-centred way. You will support people’s night time routine and take an active role to ensure this is in keeping with their personal needs.

A Level 2 Adult Care Worker or Health and Social Care Certificate is desirable, but we can support candidates to achieve this within 12 months of appointment into the post. Experience in a health or care setting is not a requirement, but we are looking for people who have a desire to support individuals in an caring and compassionate way, promoting wellbeing and safety.

You’ll be part of a team of excellent, caring, Supported Living Care Workers, ensuring a single team approach and smooth hand overs at the end of your shift.

The hours

Support is required from 10pm until 7am over an average of 35 hours per week, i.e. 3 nights on and 3 nights off on a rolling rota.

The salary

Independent living salary: £18,447.00 pro rata, £9.46 p/h (Full time 37.5 hrs)

Relief Staff

You will provide essential cover for staff holidays, training or absence, mostly planned in advance, however you may be called on at short notice for immediate cover at certain times. Shifts are available for Independent Living and Community Activities Support Workers.

Support is required 24/7 so this will include evening, weekend work, waking nights, sleep-ins and bank holidays.

The salary

Relief Staff salary: £8.91-£9.03 p/h Community Activities £8.91-£9.25 Independent Living.

Finance Manager

Chrysalis is a local provider of support for adults with learning disabilities, supporting individuals throughout Cumbria and has a turnover in excess of £1m.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our senior management team based in Wigton


No two days are the same and as finance manager you will certainly appreciate this as our dynamic approach is reflected in all we do.


We need you to ensure systems and processes support a fast paced and ever changing environment whilst keeping an eye on the horizon to ensure our strategic plans can be realised.


As we embark on a new phase in our journey, we are looking for an enthusiastic and self- motivated person to take on this lead financial role within the organisation.


At Board Meetings, you will present reports and be able to demonstrate how the finance and administrative functions can bring real benefits .


You will be responsible for a small team ensuring clear leadership.

Duties include the overall responsibility for our Annual Accounts, preparation of management accounts, effective budgeting, administrative leadership and strategic planning.


The successful applicant will:


  • Have an accountancy qualification (CIMA/CA/ACCA) or be working towards being fully qualified.

  • Be a driven, motivated person with a proactive approach to work

  • Be able to demonstrate advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to communicate to all levels.

  • Have meticulous attention to detail and enjoy working flexibly and to tight deadlines.

  • Be happy to work at our head office in Wigton.

HR Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Senior Management Team based in Wigton


Chrysalis provides excellent support to clients with learning difficulties. We are a local community provider based in Wigton however we have clients throughout Cumbria and have a turnover in excess of £1m.


We are going through an exciting development period and we are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our Senior Management Team. We are looking for someone who is committed to continuous improvement and who wishes to be an integral part of the strategic management of our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive you will be responsible for managing the HR function and for driving the organisational strategy through a period of change. The role is operational and strategic; you will attend Board sub committees, present reports and be able to lead on all people areas.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, managing and supporting the HR Team

  • Supporting the recruitment, selection and retention processes

  • Supporting and managing any training or L&D needs within our charity

  • Managing all Employee Relation matters

  • Providing advice and guidance to line managers across the charity

  • Succession planning

  • Performance management, reviewing and analysing our HR systems

The successful applicant will:

  • Be an experienced HR Manager or Senior HR Professional

  • CIPD qualified ( Level 5 or above) , be working towards being fully qualified or be willing to become CIPD qualified

  • Have excellent people skills together with the ability to solve complex problems
